Cleaner here. It’s very common for people in upscale neighborhoods to have security cameras around the house it’s not to spy on the cleaning lady it’s for burglary and if something goes missing. It’s good for me too that way no one can accuse me of stealing. My experience is that the customer won’t tell you they have cameras.
Even if you agree to something in a employment agreement you can quit at any time without needing to give any reason at all in most states in the us (please do a video covering this because employers all over try to tell people its against the law to quit)
Not entirely true as they can then go after you for breach of contract. Doesn't guarantee a win, but I dunno about you, but I'd rather fulfill all of my contracts than risk throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting a suit I was wrong for from the beginning. Read the fine print.
A bonus to recording without sound is that you take up less space on your hard drive. It then frees up extra space to allow higher resolutions in your recording. My security cameras are motion-activated so I don't have 18-hours of nothing happening in my home each day.
If sound is taking up more than a tiny fraction as much space as video, then the video is extremely low-rez and the audio is _really_ poorly encoded. And each step up in video resolution takes up 2-4 times as much space, so not recording audio isn't going to free up that much space regardless. Audio typically takes up 0.01 MB/s, while 1080p video is around 1 MB/s and 4K video is 8 MB/s with typical encoding settings. Music might be encoded at a higher bitrate and take up .04 MB/s, but audio on a video recording is usually .01.
@@BacteriophagebsI use opus at 96 kbps for stereo music (apparently people who like posting their own blind tests can hear a difference below 128 kbps... I can't). For security you could do 32/48/64 kbps opus and still have it mostly audible, and you can do phone calls at 8 kbps with encodings designed for that (it sounds awful, so speak clearly). TH-cam at 144p is roughly in line with the high fidelity audio at 80-100 kbps, and you might have a point about it at 480p quality (500~2000 kbps), but for 720p/1080p/2160p (1500~6000/3000~9000/13000~51000 kbps) it's a single digif percentage of the video stream. Also remember that TH-cam uses entire datacenters to compress videos slower than realtime so they can spend less when people view them thousands of times. Security cameras will look much worse than TH-cam for a given bitrate with the same video, so my HD cameras encode video at something like 4000 kbps and just look OK even when there's little motion and the framerate is low. Audio would take like 2% of that.
@@theneighborskid. You can get security cameras that record 24/7, but provide alerts when there's motion and record to a cloud service to have days and days worth of storage. Those are better than motion-activated ones because the motion-activated ones often start recording too late or even don't start at all when you need them to. Plus the cloud-based ones let you watch them in real time from your phone, anywhere.
If you are only a servant paid to visit a house to do chores and you do not live there, that is not your private space. Your private space is the place where you live yourself.
@@alexostencer7503 : In that case, no. The existence of the changing room as a separate room off from the shop implies privacy because otherwise there would be no purpose for it. There is no reason someone would go into a changing room other than seeking privacy. Therefore, putting cameras in there would be deceptive.
Yes if they have reasonable suspicion, a warrant or the property owner(s) gave them permission and called them to help out with a situation. Almost like owning a house or apartment and you see blood all over, broken windows, a mess indicating a struggle, bodies, etc, then you don't need a warrant at all and can proceed in.
Considering you signed a clause that stated you agree to be recorded without actually reading it, is the home owner able to include a clause where you can’t quit just because you don’t want to be recorded and if you do you have to pay a termination fee for breach of contract?
Actually yes you can include it. But it depends if it is actually enforceable. A lot of internet celebrities who work for companies do have such clauses in their contract but they do know that they are being filmed.
I’m a cleaner and I can quit whenever I want for any reason just like the client can fire me at any time for any reason. I just work for them they don’t own me 😆
Not being allowed to quit without a penalty almost always requires some level of compensation like training or a signing bonus to be enforceable. I don't know of any law, tort, or jurisdiction that would allow you to penalize someone for quitting if all you gave them was an hourly wage or salary. Those kinds of clauses are for getting back an investment if the employee doesn't work for you long enough to be worth said investment. And in the case of training, the training would need to be for a marketable skill or certification, like welding or a commercial driver's license. McD's can't charge you for teaching you how to make their food.
