Great comparison shave Ken. Thanks for the new razor info. It's always nice to see all the new options out there. I totally agree with you about getting checkups.
Just used the Frost Razor today. Nice razor, good feel in the hand. Im on the fence with the Shaveboy blades though. Lots of feedback and some tugging in the neck area. Not horrible but I need to compare with a Derby and then Feather. GSC says its comparable to a Personna Blue. May obtain and compare.
Update: the Shaverboy blades cause a lot of irritation. They’re sharp, but I think they’re not as smooth as they could be. I think it could be a combination of the razor and blade. Changed to a Derby Extra and it was less irritating. The Frost is moderately aggressive for my skin.
Love the message behind this, Ken and actually followed suit. I kept tache and goatee all of October, just did 1 maintenance trim (took off dead or split ends, kept length) and will be going all November without a trim on the goatee as well. Lastly, thrilled to hear that your brother is starting to go to the doctor because it really is of the utmost importance to regularly get checked.
I really enjoy the lemon chill as well with matching splash. It was the second artisan soap I ever purchased. I recently mixed it with a little bit of Stirling pearberry in a bowl. Interesting 😊
My first razor was also a Merkur 23C. I also got it from my wife as a b-day present. It doesn't get that much rotation nowadays since I fell into the vintage Gillette rabbit hole, but it sure give good shaves.
Both you and PaulH received your GSC razors in a mislabeled box. Similarily, I ordered the Replitech from GSC but they mistakenly shipped me their Steam razor. While I do like the Steam, GSC really needs to work on the accuracy of their logistics.
Great video! Thanks for the comparison shave. Lemon Chill is a great soap and a pleasure to use on hot/humid days. It simply freezes hell 😨 Well, our region here in western Germany expects a final sunny summer day on this Sunday (up to 76F., which is way above average 😉) Will give this soap a final go for 2019. Have a great weekend! PS Congrats on the 14k. I will be in 😎
I use the "sp" quite a bit.have you noticed a difference in the older bold printed blades vs the newer lightly printed ones?I think there is a difference.new not as good.I ordered 100 from one vender and another from a different one.wish I remembered which one had the old ones!
Great shave Ken. Love Stirling Soap's Lemon Chill. To me it smells like a Halls Lemon Cough Drop now. I have switched to the Israeli Personna Reds as my "go to" blade and it has paid off. I used one in my Rockwell 6C with the #4 base plate and it was great.
Hi ken great shave again I just received my replitec from global shave club what are your our thoughts on it Here in Queensland Australia there are not much DE razor outlets but watching your TH-cam channel I can review razors that I like from the websites that you post so thank you
@@kensurfs I'm staying at Mount Magazine Lodge tonight, only about 15 miles away from Boonville. I might try to stop by Rod's storefront tomorrow before driving back to Little Rock.
Great video, thanks for the comparison! Lemon Chill is a great soap. What a pleasure if weather is hot. It simply freezes hell 😨 Congrats on 14k! I will be in.😉 Have a great weekend! Greetings from Germany!
Chinese Vs. German razor, no contest. German razor wins hands down😊 Come on Ken, you know I'm right. Honestly the Frost looks like a good razor. What's not to like about Stirling soaps, best bang for your buck really. Floid is timeless and has a great post shave feel, fantastic stuff. Great comparison shave💈💈 and review👍 Enjoy!
Nice vid. Any difference between this Merkur and the 34G? Royalshave has Merkur for $20, and if someone wants something that shaves closer: Schone at amazon. The plating on these Global seems to be mediocre on a good day (check Kevy's video). I guess the other "shave club" has one razor w blades for $20 something......
Off topic but I have a qshave adjustable merkur futr clone and today was my like 6th time DE shaving overall and having issues with my 2 mild razors and not getting comoletely clean results. Well I used my futur clone on 6 for 1st pass after 4 days of growth and man it did an amazing job. 2nd pass on 2 and final pass on 1 with 1 more pass to get the screwy growth areas on my neck. Hands down my best shave yet. Completely smooth and my puck lathering game is getting decent. I just had to share. I'm guessing even with 3 passes and going over areas with mild razors it was irritating my skin and knicking me but i am digging the setting 6, you can really here it going to town. I used an astra blade, was intimidated by the term "aggressive" by conflating with dangerous which now thinking about it shouldnt be thought of that way if careful. I am getting into the groove of things better haha. Anyways great review and take care.
Wondering if there is any advantage to flipping a blade over after a few shaves. Remove it from the shaver and flip it over, like slicing with the other edge of a knife.
@@danielguerrero4121 try a murkur 34c with Astra...great combo for me...also give Arko soap a try...works awesome...also I have very coarse facial hair and this combo is awesome...if your facial hair is less coarse a feather blade might work.

I’ve noticed when I shave with the merkur 34c (I’ve tried a couple different blades) it isn’t doing that good of a job. I don’t know if maybe I’m doing something wrong or maybe it’s time to upgrade to a more aggressive razor. Any Suggestions
I am new to DE shaving also and using mild razors. After 3 passes i wasnt getting clean results.. I bought an adjustable razor and today 1st pass used it on a 6 (most aggressive) with grain, a 2 across and 1 against grain. Hella clean shave. Perhaps its too mild to knock down the initial scruff? This has been the only time I got a smooth clean shave.. I dont know how long between shaves you go but maybe try every other day or every 2 days? Thats just my experience and again ive only shaved with a DE like 6-8 times..
Did you get my email about the Caption’s Choice Aftershaves for the giveaway? Great video!!!! My Gillette Wilkinson Sword Blades from India has made it too Chicago. I got 5 shaves off one blade in my R41’s. I could have pushed it further but 5’s enough.

Hi Ken - looking forward to watching this video! I think I’ve gotten the shaving bug - Thanks for introducing me! Just a quick question (not sure if you’ve said before) but who is your favourite Bond? A lot of people say the one they grew up with, but while I grew up with Pierce Brosnan, I think he’s just beaten out by Roger Moore for me! Cheers T.s.
Ken, I work at MD Anderson the #1 cancer hospital in America and I'm the guy who puts chemotherapy in people's bodies. Don't hesitate if you think something is not right. Go get screened.
It is a natural instinct to want to grab it. When I was in culinary school I remember them telling us if you drop your knife do not instinctively grab it but instead put your hands up like you were surrendering. Even still for a split second if i drop my knife I almost start going for it but i just move my hands up outta the way. This made me think of that.
