I have been using a Double Edge razor for a little over 13 years. I recently bought and tried a Merkur 34C. In truth it has become my daily driver. For me the 34C matched with a Feather, Personna, or Kai blade results in a next to perfect shave. The 34C is a well designed mild middle of the road razor that always delivers. Aggressive razors have their place, but I have learned that the more mild razors offer the same or even better shave.
@user-ct5zi1zl6m it's not hard to find the angle on the 34C. Just place the guard on your skin at a 90º angle to your cheek. Then, rotate the razor until you first feel the blade contact your skin. This gives you the angle the 34C shaves at. Over time, the threads on the top cap will wear out, resulting in reduced shave quality. Remember you can get replacement parts from Merkur's website.
I’m really glad you’re putting out there that this razor is not just for new shavers. It’s one of the best razor designs, period. You can use a sharp blade for a close shave or a smooth blade for a comfortable one. Great video…thanks!
Hello ! Lady shave here.... I was just gifted a 34 C a few weeks ago ! I agree, been wet shaving for about 8 months now and am enjoying the 34 C very much for leg shaves. Very smooth and comfortable. I really enjoyed your video today ! Thank you for the advise and great content yet again !!
Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you’re enjoying the 34C. It’s such a versatile razor and, I’m confident, can produce the same results for different shaving areas.
Great review! Never shaved with a double edge in over 30 years. I bought it last week with ASTRA blades. It is everything you said it is! Your video reaffirmed that I made the right decision. Thanks!
I just bought a Merkur based upon this review. Great presentation in that you focused upon the actual razor and didn't veer off onto off topics. Nice job Eric.
I concur with your review. The 34c is great for me as a daily shaver. Mild enough to cause no irritation, but efficient enough to yield a close enough shave, depending on the used blade. A very versatile razor, and certainly not a beginners-only tool.
Hello buddy, I wanna thank you for this review. I'm a newbie to wet shaving and for days I was deciding between beginner razors.. couldn't make up my mind. But a guy offered to sell me a beginners kit with a pure badger brush, lather bowl, 5 samples of soap in which the containers were pretty big honestly, 5 splash samples of a pretty big size, and about three barely used tubs of soap, and a merkur 34c razor. All for $65 I thought it was an amazing deal. This is the BEST 34c review I've saw and guarantee there won't be a better one than this. You covered it all for me.. from talking about blades that can easily be tamed while using the 34c, how it handles well, you just nailed it plain and simple. This is my first comment on a TH-camrs channel and just wanna say thanks. I'm gonna get the 34c and use the 34c only because i see that it does what I need thanks to this review I learned that. Loved how you thanked the Lord for the opportunity to review it and how you thanked everyone else. Take care man, shave on!
I must admit for doing this for 7 years. Many razors, low end, high end, very high end have been sold because nothing but nothing is like the 34C,G. IMO it's the best overall razor ever made period. I think many in this hobby says its a begginers razor because it's so perfectly mindless. No, it's jus THE BEST RAZOR PERIOD! MAJICAL! Great review Eric! 🍻 Cheers! 🍻
Good review man, I got one of these about 20 years ago when I got tired of the disposable razoers. It's still one of my favourite things to own and the machining quality is excellent. It's well balanced and gets through a shave with no fuss. Gentle on the skin and can make any blade do its best. I tries the feathers, astras and darby blades when I first got it. The Darbys I found were terribly avearage, the Astras are the most forgiving for a quick shave when you are pressed for time, but when I want a really good close shave and time is no issue, the Merkur with a new feather blade is second to none. Thanks for your review, i hope more dudes see this vid and stop buying the horrible disposable razors and get themselves a quality tool like this that will definately last a lifetime. Once you have a merkur, all one needs to do is experiment with different blades. Feather, Astra then I don't know what comes in 3rd place because I've learned to be adept with the feather. Got a few cuts and nicks along the way but now I just know how to respect the blade. Cheers :)
My “daily driver” is a 1959 Gillette Fatboy, but the Merkur 34G has caught my eye. Are the 34C and 34G identical, with the $20 difference only because of the gold plating?
Very good review of this amazing razor. I concur with everything you say. Though I have many razors in my den, the 34C gets used the most and every time I use it, I'm always reminded of what an excellent tool it is. I've been shaving with a DE razor for over 24 years. I've used and owned many razors over the years. This razor is my favorite, hands down. I even have a spare brand new one still in the box in case I lose my current one.
I just ordered one off Amazon last night! Along with the Astra blades. I’m excited! I’ll get it tomorrow by 10pm. Then I went ahead and ordered another one directly from Merkur website. Figured I’d give support directly to the company too.
I purchased a Merkur 34 C about 4 months ago as a backup to my Rockwell Model T. It was a great decision. I agree with all of your points regarding the quality and performance of this razor. Great stuff!!
What an articulate, compelling review and recommendation! Always enjoy your reviews Eric. I can tell you’re a professional guy who is also modest and I like that (a bit like me! lol). Take care and keep the vids coming man.
Eric truly have enjoyed watching your videos through WCS. Just picked up a 34C HD recently from WCS. Your videos on the 34C made me want to pick it up even after using some top high end artisanal DE razors through the years. Really I can’t believe I skipped over this beautiful gem of a razor over the new shiny bell and whistle razors. Don’t get me wrong the new artisan razors are beautiful and shave great, but the shaves with the 34C have been effortless and the value you get from this razor is hard to beat! Your absolutely right it even tames the Feather Hi Stainless which I had stopped using as I was getting inconsistent shaves with this blade in other razors, but works so well in this razor. It seems even the Feather has met it’s match in the 34C. You almost forget during the shave that your using the sharpest blade in the market. I could go on and on how truly amazed I am. This completely over achieved any expectation I had and my only wish was I picked this razor up in the very beginning. Keep up the great content with WCS!
Eric💈💈 Super brother. 34C Yep! Comfortable, smooth, maneuverable, and easy.. I visit this razor regularly with a med aggressive blade and get stellar shaves. I do shave with a different razor each time, but sometimes I reach for the same razor several different times in a two week period. The 34C happens to be one of these razors, I can always count on a quality shave using it. Nice soap, never tried this scent but B&M is a pleasure. Great shave and revisit review video, thanks. Stay safe, take care. Enjoy!
Terry, always a pleasure to read your comments, my friend! I concur, I couldn’t do without this razor. It’s just so versatile, comfortable and efficient! Give Beaudelaire a go! It’s a Mousse De Saxe inspired scent and a West Coast Shaving exclusive. Thank you for your continued support, brother!
I started wet shaving in 2010 after years of shaving with the Gillette garbage nothing but bumps and ingrown hairs and my skin always looked dried out and rough. It took about a year after wet shaving for my skin to totally clear up and get smooth I would tell anybody I know to go and start wet shaving because once you turn away from them damn three four or five cartridges you’ll never go back. The Merkur 38c was what I started with and then the EJde89 both great razors. Anybody that’s new to wet shaving stay there. Nice video.
I started a yr ago with the 34C based on review; and tried many others (Rockwell, razor-rock .68, jagger, etc., with many different blades until a friend asked how i really learned and I replied my fathers old (1950-60) fatboy and slim adjustable, when I was a kid. Bought one of each on Ebay. Today, I use the Merkur 34C with a gillette Wilkinson sword, the vintage slim adjustable with the GWS and the feather A2D2 with a feather. I also have a collection of vintage gillettes going back to 1905 and occasionally use them with the GWS. I have a merkur 3 - piece whose head is identical but with a longer thinner handle, but i too like the shorter 34C one. Kai blade is only a little less sharp than the feather and is excellent. The feather razor is about $140, buy is indestructible and will last lifetimes. The blade is matched to the razor and it really is a daily shaver - no irritation - and I have heavy beard. The feather cheap razor about $15 is also amazing with the feather blade - after I tried that I got the Cadillac version
Hands down it’s a best of all! Cheap smooth and comfortable to use , do with Astra blade 3 passes and you get BBS ! I am someone who was bashing DE razor for years. This is an absolutely life changing razor.
I use the same blades with Merkur 34C and I barely get a cut on my face,I shaved today and no cuts at all,I had it for years and its very reliable and I tried almost every Razor but I find Astra to go perfect with this Safety Blade
I have a new appreciation for my Merkur Barber-pole slant DE. Not only is it gentle and forgiving, it gives a most excellent shave. For a 34c like shave I have a Mühle R89 (I think) and it too is very forgiving. I’ve been doing this for about 20 yrs and have a ridiculous collection of razors and brushes along with enough shaving soaps and creams and aftershaves to open a store lol 😂
I’ve recently purchased an Edwin Jagger 3One6 stainless steel razor with a knurled handle. Superb smooth shave, I love it. I use the green Astra blades that you mention, my favourite.
The Astra Superior Platinum is an excellent blade! I nearly ordered the 3ONE6 back in 2019, but opted for a different razor instead. Maybe I need to reconsider it? 🤔
I used to wet shave everyday whilst in the army and used standard Gillette multi blades, after leaving I grew a beard and just got it cut at the barbers. I recently started using the Mk34 with Astra Superior Platinum blades and its the best my skin has been in years. My hair is really thick and quite strong but these blades and single edge razor have changed the game for me so thanks for your video, it's one of the reasons I chose the Mk34. Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks for the heads up on the shaving soap. I switched from the Futur to Henson which suits my sensitive and curvy face much better. No cuts, but still get a little razor burn. Tried Edwin Jagger look-alikes, and got cut with them, maybe because the blade does not align. Only the Futur gave me close shaves with feather blades, but better be careful or you welcome Dracula 😂. So i Will Buy and try the 34D, Thanks 😊
Im from Taiwan. Got mine delivered last night, had my first shave this morning, im surprised that i got a BBS shave without any cuts from 34c, I didnt expect that from this mild razor, I have got merkur futur, 37. rockwell 6c, supply 2.0. got to say 34c can compete with these razor and even out perform some more expensive ones.
Well put, it works with any blade. At least all the blades I've put in mine and that's 7 yrs of trying new blades. Great review, let me suggest trying the Henson razor. It's made completely different than the 34c but it works well with any blade I've tried in it as well. Drama free where I can enjoy the software is my idea of a great shave. Great vid, I look forward to your vids as they are always informative and well done. Thanks for the time you spend making these vids.
Thank you for the kind words, Tim! We appreciate your viewership. I’ve been curious about the Henson. I’m inclined to pick it up in the near future. I appreciate the feedback you’ve offered on it! I like that it’s a different design with results similar to what I look for in a razor.
The Platinum Lux is a great blade to pair with the 34C! It’s my buddy’s favorite blade...in fact, it’s the only blade he’s bought in years. Thank you for your continued support and viewership!
i have an old razor similar to the Merkur 34c. It`s from the 1930`s And it`s rhodium coated, very nice indeed. it`s more agressive than the 34c and it`s made at the zwilling factory in Solingen Germany.
I just ordered this 34C and some feather blades, its my first time in the DE razor world. The thing that struck me from this video is that the guy is putting soap on his face as long as my current shaving cycle is with my gillet mach 3... For him its a hobby, for me, i just want to get it done as fast as possible and get on with my day. So i feel like if it takes that much longer to get a close smooth shave, it might not be for me.
Hey Eric, just used the 34c this morning with one of your favorite blades (Astra Superior Platinum) for the hardware and Baker Street from Stirling. Love your videos!
What a great presentation. Thank you, WCS person. Due to your video, I am going to purchase this. I used to use DE & went to single edge. Going back to DE. fred
I’m a newbie also! I bought a Shavely’s safety razor from dollar general to start with! I cut the heck outta myself, but I know with practice I’ll get down the technique and be good!
I've never liked it when people pigeonhole anything. I was a bass player from the time that I was 13 until just a few years ago I had to stop due to some nerve damage. But I played a squire base and people always said it's a good beginner bass truth is it was a good Bass regardless. This razor will be one that I add to my shaved in next month. Great video thank you sir
Some razors are for experienced shavers and some are better suited to those that are just beginning. There is no point having advanced features such as a slant bar if a person does not have any experience of shaving.
If you find a Feather blade too harsh you can cork it before you first use it. You take a piece of cork and run the edges of the blade through it twice. This will smooth it out.
Great review! I got into wet shaving about 6 years as well. I did a fair amount of research going into it. The Merkur 34C was my first, and has been my only DE razor. I enjoy straights more, but when you need a fast, enjoyable and easy shave...the 34C is legit. My son is getting older and facial hair is starting to show, so now I'm compiling a list of items to get him going. This caused me to start my research phase again, and revisit 34C reviews to see how good/bad of a DE it is. I thought maybe I'd just give him mine and I could "upgrade", but I dont want to...I just like this razor. I truly see no reason to get another razor other than novelty. That being said, I would consider something with a wood/stag/bamboo handle and a hint more aggressive...not to replace it, but to try it and maybe add to my DE. recommendations?
Get your son a 34C HD of his own. I started with a 34C HD, but transitioned to a 38C as I feel more comfortable with a longer handle. The 38C has the same head as its 34C HD brother. I still have my 34C HD. It's in a reserve status, or for travel. I have no recommendations for new razors. I'm still trialing blades to find "My" blade.
Great review. I agree about the razor. Have you tried the Edwin jagger ( kelvin ) razor. Made exclusively for Amazon. I think it is a short handle version of the Edwin Jagger DE 89. Its 3 piece. The shave feels like the 34c. A great little razor for half the price of the Merkur.
Thank you for the kind words, Andrew! I have the Edwin Jagger DE89 with the 3D Diamond handle. It has the same head as the Kelvin. I find the Edwin Jagger head to be a tad more aggressive than the Merkur head. I love them both, however!
Thnx, good job. I for one tuned in lots, we share similar interests. Rockwells yup, Karve b yup. Back to Merkur again but 23c. Tell ya why I’m a handle switcher. I swap handles til getting proper feeling weight. Like your chats anyway. Also been using my Gillette techs, because of the safety assurance. Thnx again. Fred H.
Love my 34C & G and also have a 38C barber pole handle. Anyway. If you guys aren’t comfortable using the Feather blade and it’s too harsh for you to shave, use the Gillette Nacet will take you one step down from the sharp harsh edge from the Feather blade. OR. You can go two steps down from the Feather blade using the 7 O’Clock Yellow Super Edge or either a Polsilver SI or the Wizamet SI blade.
Such a great video!. I've been into safety razor for 2 years now. My Merkur 34c has stripped the thread. I have very sensitive skin, Fair hair and light skin, I only use a non-aggressive blade as in Parker or Rockwell. What could you recommend for me thats not too aggressive. Thanks. I'm pretty confident now. With a razor. Thanks. I just seen my original post to you a few years ago, haha
How does it compare to 23c for newbie with sensitive skin? Which blade brands are best for sensitive skin that won't hack ur face? Is this a 1 pass razor or do u have to go over the same areas 2 or 3 times or does it depend more on the blade used? Is a second lathering necessary?
Always like this chap doing videos. Some of the shavers barely seems to have any stubble at the start of the video. It would probably be rude to ask for his own channel as well.
Are there different size blades? I've been trying to put in a Personna double edge stainless steel blade, but I can't seem to get it to actually contact the hairs on my face. Any advice?
Recently gifted a custom starter kit from WCS that included the Merkur 34c. I thought it was a nice upgrade from the typical starter kit razors given all the reviews about the razor being a great choice for beginners.
Excellent review! What blade do you recommend for general use, no matter the razor? I have a very old German razor in a hammered silver box. Beautiful thing. I just need advice on a really good general blade. I too have a heavy beard. Thank you a nd God bless, Matt
Best review I've seen on the 34C. You are so correct about this razor. I'm into this hobby about 6 years also. The 34C was one of my first razors and quickly became my favorite (Nick Shaves was one of the reasons I bought it also). I now have many razors and have gotten fatigued with trying to chase the next great razor. I've recently come back to the 34C and have decided to simplify my life and stick to this razor and just vary my blade and soap combinations based on the type of shave needed or wanted. I'm much happier now, as I've found that the more razors I've acquired, I've been less satisfied. The law of diminishing returns. Lesson learned... find what works and stick to it. Eric.. do you have your own TH-cam channel I can subscribe to?
Hey Wade. I am a 41 year old. Use Mach 3s and Fusion cartridges all my life. I am new to Classic Wet shaving. I hear good things about Gillette Silver Blues and Nacet when used in Merkur 34c which is the razor I am about to buy. Thanks. Ps. These RIP off prices for cartridges are really crazy.
@@misterlexx2721 Agree. Cartridges have gotten expensive, although the wet shaving hobby can get expensive too because there are so many razors and soaps to try. Welcome to the club!
wow - I never realized how much of a process shaving can be. I use a common store bought brand, but am thinking of switching to this razor. Is the 5 minutes of soapy application necessary? If there are great advantages to it, then I will devote a little more time to it. (what a noob)
Great Video the only thing is it could be a little shorter 32+ minutes it’s a bit too much other than that it’s awesome, great review. Have fun and enjoy the hobby.
@@ElementalHeroJoe I appreciate the comment! Some guys appreciate the longer videos, others appreciate shorter content. I’m trying to find a middle ground.
Thanks nice review. I just ordered this online in Australia, with a brush, stand, creamsoap, before shave and post shave. I was not sure what blades to get, the company I brought from recommended a mix trial box consisting of the major brands. Feather, Astra, Merkur, Wilkinson, Derby & Parker blades. Is there a massive difference between them? I have used cartridges for the last 30 years. As I have fair skin and hair, I only shave every 2nd day, sometimes 3rd day. Would I be best to keep to that routine, or shave daily? I can't recall the last time I cut my self. Ahh will find out Monday when my package comes. Thanks
I bought a 34C recently. So far, I've only used an Astra SP. For me... just okay with that blade. Certainly no better than my Henson medium. I love the looks and the weight but was mildly disappointed with the shave. I have some more aggressive blades waiting in the wings though, including Feather, Perma Sharp and Kai - so my opinion may change when I try it with those.
Definitely pair it with some of the more aggressive blades and take them for a test run. The 34C does not always work for everyone. Some guys remark that it’s too mild, inefficient and they have to buff too many areas to get a smooth shave. YMMV...
What a great shave video. I own a lot of de safety razors Merkur futor Parker 96r Edwin jagger de89 muhle R102 and so on and yet the merkur 34 hd the most popular razor of all time I don't have well how about that ? So I will get one in the near future I really have to try out this masterpiece
Hi Eric, new follower first time viewing your video. Very informative, but I do have a question. That is which Merkur DE is best for beginners 34c or 38c? When you google which Merkur razor is best for beginners the 38c is the mildest and the 34c is rated moderately aggressive . Please share your opinion on both razors. My first try with a DE razor I went with the Viking Chieftain. Man was that a brutal shave the cuts, and irritation were off the charts. Great video!!!
Nice vid. Is there any difference in the shave quality between 34c and any of the Merkur 3 piece razors.... BTW try the Merkur 45, the red/black plastic razor.....I think it's by far their best razor....given a bit light......
I’ve not used any of Merkur’s 3-piece models. Only the 34C and 39C, so I’m not able to comment on that. I’ve been intrigued by the Merkur 45 in the past. Is it still in production or is it a eBay/BST purchase? Thank you for watching!
I agree it's a great razor but if I can go back in time I would have to say Rockwell 6c is the razor to go for period Same cost as a merkur 34c And the plate changing is amazing And just in case someone want to know the the blade gap in the merkur 34c It's .71 It's the most forging razor but also the Rockwell 6c or 6s So for someone that wants one razor for life and only one I would have to say Rockwell 6c for what it is and price can't beat it..
11 years in. Tried tons of razors, this is still my favorite.

@user-ct5zi1zl6m it's not hard to find the angle on the 34C. Just place the guard on your skin at a 90º angle to your cheek. Then, rotate the razor until you first feel the blade contact your skin.
Just the right balance in a razor, I’ve used lots of them , this is my everyday shaver 👍👍👍
4 years now! Going buy in Christmas
Nice video.
Well said, Triple G! I’m glad to hear wet shaving provided you a better shaving solution.
Thank you for watching!
Same here. This razor blows away my straight edge Dovo and jap feather. Wow
If you have a thick beard go with the 37!!!!! I have it and it’s a beast
My dad got me this after seeing my barely visible mustache. Seems like a nice product
love itt
I wish I bought the Merkur 38C, while the 34C is fantastic the longer handle would have been better for me IMO
first shave with the 34c and Im thinking the exact same thing
Thanks for the heads up on the shaving soap. I switched from the Futur to Henson which suits my sensitive and curvy face much better. No cuts, but still get a little razor burn. Tried Edwin Jagger look-alikes, and got cut with them, maybe because the blade does not align. Only the Futur gave me close shaves with feather blades, but better be careful or you welcome Dracula 😂. So i Will Buy and try the 34D, Thanks 😊
I've had mine since I was 17. 19 years ago.
For those of us that dont shave as a hobby. Try Harry's razors. Best shave of my life & yes that includes DE
34 c is a solid razor..... love it!
Absolutely! I love it too!
One of my favorite too so that’s why I bought Gold plated one 34 G ;great review
That seems to be the trend with ardent fans of the 34C...we have both version. 😄 Thank you for watching and for the kind words!
I put Platinum Lux in mine. Great shaves!
The Platinum Lux is a great blade to pair with the 34C! It’s my buddy’s favorite blade...in fact, it’s the only blade he’s bought in years.
Thank you for your continued support and viewership!
Thank you for focusing the review on the razor itself. I plan on adding one to the den
It was fun to express my passion for and enjoyment with this razor! Glad to hear you’ll be acquiring it. You won’t regret it.
i have an old razor similar to the Merkur 34c. It`s from the 1930`s And it`s rhodium coated, very nice indeed. it`s more agressive than the 34c and it`s made at the zwilling factory in Solingen Germany.
That’s one of my favourite razors. Even I have both the versions, the gold and the silver have a nice day ahead. That was a great shave.
Thank you for watching! It’s my favorite shaver all-time! It’s almost the perfect razor.
You mean the Merkur 34G, right? Yeah, I have that gold version; it's beautiful.
My two go-to’s- Hensen & Merkur…
Hey Eric, just used the 34c this morning with one of your favorite blades (Astra Superior Platinum) for the hardware and Baker Street from Stirling. Love your videos!
That sounds like a spectacular shave! The 34C and Astra Superior Platinum is a superb combination! Thank you for your support and viewership, Dana!
@@ericneria5266 hey Eric have you ever considered uploading to your own channel? Your videos are always super informative and interesting
I agree with your position on the 34C I have multiple high end razors and still use the 34C often in my rotation. Truly smooth and comfortable.
What a great presentation. Thank you, WCS person. Due to your video, I am going to purchase this. I used to use DE & went to single edge. Going back to DE. fred
Excellent review. One of the best I’ve seen
I’m a newbie also! I bought a Shavely’s safety razor from dollar general to start with! I cut the heck outta myself, but I know with practice I’ll get down the technique and be good!
Great video. Very informative. Has convinced me to get a 34c for myself.
Love your videos. Love all your detail you give us.🙃. (VLS)
Thank you for the kind words, and thank you for watching!
If you find a Feather blade too harsh you can cork it before you first use it. You take a piece of cork and run the edges of the blade through it twice. This will smooth it out.
This is a great review.
I started out with a 34C HD, then got its taller brother, the 38C.
Longer handle, same head.
Great blade recommendations! Glad to hear you enjoy your 34 models. We appreciate your continued viewership!
Feather Blade is no joke its really Sharp
Thank you for the kind words, Nathan! I do all my content here on the WCS channel. I just don’t have the bandwidth to manage my own channel.
What’s the difference between beard soap and shaving cream? Also what’s the difference between the blade that Merkur provides and a feather?
Thanks for sharing it has helped me a lot...
awesome video, been into this for a couple of months now and this is my 4th razor on the way. Bye bye harry :)
Amazing! What razors have you been enjoying?
Leaf twig, Rockwell 6 c, Rockwell T2 and now my Merkur 34c :)@@WestCoastShavingChinoHills
Are there different size blades? I've been trying to put in a Personna double edge stainless steel blade, but I can't seem to get it to actually contact the hairs on my face. Any advice?
I always hv patches on chin left out with mild razor like KCG ..is this gonna be same? Or progress is the one right 4 me ?
Keep up the good work man
What in this moment is your favorite razor that gives you a nice BBS everytime you use it.Godbless you always and your family.
Recently gifted a custom starter kit from WCS that included the Merkur 34c. I thought it was a nice upgrade from the typical starter kit razors given all the reviews about the razor being a great choice for beginners.
Excellent presentation ! Ronky from Switzerland
U make it look so easy!I just got a de razor and wow it’s way harder than it looks idk if I can get good at it but I hope so
Excellent review! What blade do you recommend for general use, no matter the razor? I have a very old German razor in a hammered silver box. Beautiful thing. I just need advice on a really good general blade. I too have a heavy beard.
Thank you a nd God bless,
Matt
maybe you can make a video on how to put the right angle for the merkur 34c
i have a merkur 34c but i’m really struggling with the angle so any help ?
Okay, I’m buying it.
@@wadeschreffler2161 Thanks.
wow - I never realized how much of a process shaving can be. I use a common store bought brand, but am thinking of switching to this razor. Is the 5 minutes of soapy application necessary? If there are great advantages to it, then I will devote a little more time to it. (what a noob)
The quality of a safety Razor in the finish shave is far higher and it also leaves less irritation for many shavers than disposable razors.
Thanks so much bro awesome review
Great Video the only thing is it could be a little shorter 32+ minutes it’s a bit too much other than that it’s awesome, great review. Have fun and enjoy the hobby.
I’m trying, my friend...I’m trying. Thanks for watching!
@@ericneria5266 I appreciate the longer video. This is the best and most informative review on the Merkur 34c
Thanks
You should experiment and find that you like daily shaving with a good razor.
Is the razor dishwasher safe?
YMMV...
If you enjoy mild, comfortable razors, give the REX Supply Envoy or Ambassador a try. I think you'll like it.
Good evening and congratulations for your very nice videos.
Rex Ambassador or Rockwell t2? I'm very undecided.
Can you give me your opinion?
What a great shave video. I own a lot of de safety razors Merkur futor Parker 96r Edwin jagger de89 muhle R102 and so on and yet the merkur 34 hd the most popular razor of all time I don't have well how about that ? So I will get one in the near future I really have to try out this masterpiece
Great video
Bought this by accident (ie I just clicked the one Amazon showed me first lol) and it’s good to see I made the right choice
Hi mister , do you like 23C also?He is more light it's sure.
34c is a great razor
What happens if you go against the grain with one of these? Never seen no one do it
I love my 34G
Which razor is the most similar to Merkur 34c of g?!
Feel the same about my Merkur 38
I agree it's a great razor but if I can go back in time I would have to say
Rockwell 6c is the razor to go for period
Same cost as a merkur 34c
And the plate changing is amazing
And just in case someone want to know the the blade gap in the merkur 34c
It's .71
It's the most forging razor but also the Rockwell 6c or 6s
So for someone that wants one razor for life and only one I would have to say Rockwell 6c for what it is and price can't beat it..
I shave in the shower with just water and maybe a little bath soap. Can I do this with a safety razor?
How does the astra green blade pair with the merkur? Lmk asap guys 🙏
Good very mild you need 3 passés to get bbs
