@@skeletonwar4445 What I mean is slotting comfy skills just makes your run slow. Im no speed runner, my average hunts goes sub 10 while afflicted sub 15. If I trade in comfy skills just so I don't have to use mega pots is not a big brain move to me.
@@Zhar06 I think you're looking at this from the wrong angle. I used to also think that way in World/Iceborne. I run a decent amount of "comfy" skills and our times are very similar, I get sub-10 regular hunts and sub-15 afflicted, so I think this could actually help you out without negatively affecting your speed. Defensive skills aren't there to make you take less damage. (Well, they do, but that's not the point) They're there to give you more openings. Because time spent healing, getting knocked back and, worst case, dying is time spent not doing damage. Anytime I use a healing item is time I could have spent on attacking. If I have to use less healing items (or none at all, with certain skills) then I can instead use that time to do damage. If I cart even once during a hunt, that hunt is now going to take longer than it would've taken if I hadn't died, but had slightly less damage. Sure, I may deal 2% less damage per combo in any opening... but I'm also gonna have way more openings to *do* damage in. To give you a very specific example from my own experience: I usually run Dual Blades against Gore/Shagaru. I want to cut the tail, so I have to move around it everytime it turns to face me. That takes a few seconds everytime it happens. And it happens quite a lot over the course of the entire hunt. Now, I run Evade Extender 3 on my DBs. On one hand, it lets me dodge any attack way easier, so it's a defensive skill. On the other hand, I can get to the tail (or from the tail to the head, or any part A to any part B on any monster) with a single demon dash and instantly attack. That gives me like maybe 1-5 extra hits *every single time* i switch positions, the monster turns, a part breaks, etc. Those extra hits I get from having Evade Extender are in total way more damage than I would've gotten from running three extra levels of any offensive skill. *And* they give me a huge defensive advantage due to making my dodge way better. The only reason to forgo defensive/comfy skills is if you're an absolute MH god that doesn't get hit anyway and runs around with permanent 10% health Heroics boost while clearing all hunts in under 5 minutes. But most people are not that. Like you and me. And yet, many people _insist_ on using full meta offensive sets when they could be getting the same (if not better) clear times by swapping a little offense for better defense.
@@skeletonwar4445 Don't get me wrong I don't use full meta builds with AB 7 and CB 7 unga bunga super attack. I still slot some utility skills I use evade extender too on my swaxe. I'm comfortable with blood rite and the dango recovery (don't know the exact name but it heals overtime). I use potions of tight situation. Or just bringing minoto and hinoa.
i aim to only use the free "first-aids" they give and rarely use the mega potions.. those feel like gold
I use Kushala Blessing + Blood Rite, then have a healing palico.
How do you have your movesets show on screen? I cant find it
Healing tip: reduce the amount of times you get hit!
Simple right, get good and stop chugging!
I got a full redirection and spiribirds call charm with two 2 slots 😁
I still use free meals. Usually keeps me from digging into my mega potions and gives me a chance for free demondrug and armorskin
*Laughs in zombie gunlance that doesn't lose any damage for maximum healing*
Ill still personally call it lance gundead tho but caoslayer showing that build has been my gunlance highlight.
*tfw all relevant damage skills are just 5 slots, lets goooooo*
The bullet has been barraged.
Every second I'm skill swapping is one more second I'm not dealing damage, imma stick to Malzeno
Never use a potion again! *uses a potion in the video*
Tbh the health you get back when swapping on Deriliction itself is more than enough most of the time. Not that you really want to do that either bc you lose some of your buff, but idk just use a healing Palico and some gluttony fish or whatever they're called lol. Or blood rite.
Me, an IG user with Powder Vortex: You guys still use potions?
Its official: This is the arcade-iest version of Monster Hunter ever made!
(Not knocking the game, its hella fun, but for me personally it feels very much like an arcade type game once you reach endgame and start getting these skills unlocked.) I look forward to the craziness thats gonna come with all the future updates!
free meal lvl 3 and spam all my pots and buffs - good times
I cant live without free meal
Wait potion exist?
Hunting Horn main in a nutshell.
Hell yeah, Health Recovery (L) bitches!
dual blade dual heal XD
Como que esta interesante lo que dice, lástima que no entiendo nada, por no saber el idioma 😢
Como siempre dejo mi pulgar arriba
I use mushromancer for 10x max potion, because I'm sucks at this game 😔
You only need to complete Sunbreak, you don’t have to do the Azuki quests, I know because I didn’t do any and it unlocked.
you dont want to be spamming skill swap with dereliction, because you'd be negating the boosts you get from dereliction and resetting the qurio count. Its all about mainting a good dps with dereliction, if not, just use another skill.
The base dereliction boost is already worth it even without stacking the Qurios.
Sure, you get _more_ damage if you stack them, but the generic boost is already massive.
@@skeletonwar4445 Base isnt, its base skill (as in Dereliction Level 1), is worth it. If you're resetting constantly just to heal, you're doing DPS a disservice to the point that you might as well replace Dereliction with just an attack boost.
@@BlowfishShorts the difference between dereliction 0 and dereliction 1 with no qurios is still higher than the difference between atk lvl 4 and atk lvl 5
There's also the immortal build.
Imma try this on my switch axe
I just literally use channeler (spring) with a recovery up and slugger talisman and put defense up on it and use dango shifter I literally can't die and since hammer hits like a truck anyway I went for the royal order hammer :)
Forgot to say I also run a quick breath jewel to also heal blights
Never use heal potions again, and never do damage again lol. Incomplete information. Especially with dereliction you will loose damage every time you change scrolls. A better way to actually not use them, is running 2 palicos with the healing secret support skill. For dereliction, Coalessence is the way to go.
You do realize you aren't losing that much damage, right? I mean, I'm not gonna argue with you, there's no point using dereliction with a swap based play style, but it ain't that big of a damage loss, chief.
@@AkariRosumashi yeah it is. More confort = less damage. Did math already. Even other MH content creators know this, the closest non dereliction build is 5 min less effective in hunts.
@@tiltingart9276 As someone who plays with a dereliction and blood rite build most of the time, I can tell you right now that you are on some crack. I use it with my LS in sacred sheath and tempered, and then a non-dereliction set where I use Iai and harvest moon, both come out like, at most one minute away from each other if I'm playing particularly bad? 30 raw isn't much when you already have 350+ by default with attack up, unless you take all 50 minutes to hunt, in which case, yeah, a roughly 10% difference will cut roughly five minutes from your hunt times lmfao.
@@AkariRosumashi blood rite? Who said I run blood rite lol. Whatever dude, you do no dmg if run confort. Fool yourself as much as you like ignorant
Redirection, quick breath, and dango shifter are the main reason I don't like dereliction. There's almost no reason to use it if you're gonna scroll swap a lot
Wdym? It's like a +20 to raw and +15 to element even without the stacking Qurios.
Most other skills don't give that much benefit for so little investment.
@@skeletonwar4445 if you're gonna scroll swap like that there's several skills that give +20 raw for 3 points that don't suck the life out of you that have easy to meet conditions
can't wait to find a comment about
dOeS THIS MeaNs you gIViNG mOnStEr HP BecAuSe you DoN'T do mUcH dMg
I use Bugstick so I got a bunch of healing built in
This doesn't work with Wide-range does it?
I have so many potions that I rarely ever have to use when playing solo cause 1) I don't get hit all the time. 2) because I have a healing palicoe 🤣 lol
I’m not good enough of a hunter to run Dereliction. I use a lot of potions each hunt. Only for certain monsters am I willing to use a dango ticket to get dango shifter
You know that u can easily get infinite dango ticket , right ?
don't you lose all your qurios when you scroll swap making this useless for dereliction builds?
you do
yeah. honestly this isnt good advice for dereliction users, I would avoid swapping at all costs
Dereliction's boost without the stacking Qurios is still high, so you effectively trade a bit of damage against permanent full health.
You have option other than potion 😁
I eat mushrooms. Wait is that allowed my mushroommancers anonymous didnt say I couldn't talk about it.
I ran out of honey for my megas
Just dont get hit ez :)
you're better off just taking the 4 mega potions from the box and slotting speed eating or something.
And NERFED
I slot all those skills and end up killing monsters sub 20. I'd rather take followers that heal me. lol
Lol
That just sounds like you're bad lol
(Well, they do, but that's not the point)
They're there to give you more openings.
To give you a very specific example from my own experience:
I usually run Dual Blades against Gore/Shagaru.
But getting the stated heal skills is far too comfy. Getting hit less is better than chugging or switch dancing to get heals.
After playing GU recently, man, CAPCOM dumbed down Monster Hunter so hard for the zoomer crowd, hopefully MH6 brings back some actual mechanics that require at least a bit of commitment

I really hate this… seems broken
It doesn't feel right calling something in a game "God tier", sounds like saying it's God like.
that's the idea.
