Me toooo!! In almost (maybe all) the missions, was on 80/100% of my abilities for defend my allies! Especially on the Armada mission or others like that!
@@asidewinder5871 Fun fact about the shitty XFA-33: It's also in Ace Combat X as the plane you unlock if you beat the game on ace difficulty. Despite the challenge, it's really bad and its only redeeming quality is its speed and ability to clear mission 2 and most of the radar mission in one shot with the LWSM.

And yes, I was exaggerating when I called it complete trash, it's not that bad, I just would have expected more from how hard it is to unlock, but instead it pales in comparison to the ADF-01 I used to unlock it.
Well, we still don't know how Leasath managed to develop and build optical camo, meson cannons, shock cannon, SWBM and Fenrir's microwave weapon with just Aurelia's money right after a civil war. Not to mention actually building Gandr and Gleipnir.
God I love this game. I have so many memories playing this on my PSP. This was my first Ace Combat game and my in to what is now one of my favourite gaming franchises. So so many hours burned. Seriously...pls rerelease on Vita?
This was the only ace combat game I have ever owned to this day and still remember it pretty vividly. I think for the first month of having it I was to young to understand what to do until I started to slowly get it.
ACX's evil cousin Ace Combat Joint Assault is the worst game in the series... probably. In part because ACX was so good and ACJA could have been simply more of the same: both games basically run in the same engine, with mostly the same aircraft and mechanics. ACJA could have been brilliant... if only someone didn't go extra mile specifically to make it shit.
@@combativeThinker it's freaking bad and an abomination because of how the controls would react to your input when you do a maneuver. Back when i have my psp and ACJA, I disguist the game so much just because of the controls and its terribly bad storyline. I fond more the controls on ACX where the aircraft stays put on screen when doing some maneuvers. I spend more time on ACX unlocking all the parts than ACJA. The only thing ACX lacked were how terrible the voiceover was and mediocore story.
Ace combat should have never ventured into the real world because thats when it turned to dogshit. Assault Horizon was even worse. But the fucking troll of a final boss in ACJA was enough to wanna make me break the disc.
I think that Joint Assault is a game made with scrapped material for X. I mean, the idea of the COOP campaign up to 4 players and the JA Missions (4 players in total split in two missions that plays in the same moment, and targets that can fly from a section to the other one to intercept the players in the other room) were freaking good, but very badly executed. Also I liked the emblem changing, the weapons selection system (You could choose 2 special weapons instead of normal missiles) and the fact that any plane can be customized. But still, the game is bad. It would have been better if they put these things into ACX. I'm sure the coop was a scrapped idea, because in some missions Crux refers to the players as "Gryphus Squadron", but there's literally only Gryphus 1 in flight.
The giant Energy that ACX gave you on PSP.. makes it a pearl.. i remember playing the final mission.. Shock cannon/Fenrir chase, with adrenaline and be focused to not crashing on mountains or in the inside base XD.. The Ending just gave the shine in more.. One of the *greatest* Ace Combat game ever made. Very probably.. it will remain! 🔝⭐

I know I've been getting acquainted with the music they prepared for the game as of late (Not the soundtrack because Bandai Namco never took the an opportunity to sell it, so naturally we took to the game files to satisfy our wants & needs), and while it may not live up to the Trinity's legendary heights, it's still the kind of stuff I want to be hearing when I'm soaring in hostile Strangereal skies! In fact, between Ace Combat 4 & Infinity (Yes that also includes Assault Horizon, it's not entirely devoid of merit), I have yet to encounter an Ace Combat's soundtrack that really falls short of enjoyable (I'm keen to acquaint myself with Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere). Otherwise, I'm certainly in the market to see Ace Combat X join the series' Holy Trinity getting a re-release, especially as Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War's already got one for PS4 pre-orders for 7: Skies Unknown, so why not stick that on the storefront so I can bump that to the very top of my long list of reasons to fetch a PS4, or even let it's predecessor & prequel join it in sweet re-release matrimony! (At least Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation got Xbox One backwards compatibility support at long last, but despite the 30fps cap & balmy story, that one's scale makes it one thrill of a game to play in it's own right that warrants it's inclusion in such a collection).
Ah, but there's an Ace Combat game hidden within the Depths... A game that can only be found on a Nintendo Handheld! That's right, Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy... I've played it. It's actually better than normal Assault Horizon. It feels like classic Ace Combat even though I've never been able to get the Holy Trinity. It even borrows systems like Upgrades from Ace Combat X.
You still can technically play the Holy Trinity right now. I mean you could set up a PS2 emulator on your PC, a PS3 controller, and download the game online.
Been a long while, but I grew up with Ace Combat 04 on the PS2 and loved it, and the only other game in the franchise that I've owned & played other than 04 was X Skies of Deception. And I liked it a lot, pretty similar to 04.
I remember having a lot of fun playing this on my best friend's PSP. When he got me one for Christmas a few seven years ago I made sure to grab a copy. I personally prefer its aircraft selection to 4's. I never really liked the selection of planes we got to fly in 4 as much as the selection in any of the other Ace Combats I've played (Everything except 3 and 6)
Ace combat X and AC3 JP are on par with the holy trinity. Hell, I'd say even Ace combat Xi: Skies of incursion is that good. Well, story is basic, and what? There's no "Dance with the angels"! Come on! They deserve more love!!
I liked the story of that game mainly because it doesnt talk about the same countries that always do something on any ace combat game. it was like fresh air to follow an story that actually talked about countries on the southern hemisphere and not the usual european - USA NUMBER 1# counterparts
Worth taking notes, Ace Combat X setting is directly after Lighthouse war from Ace Combat 7. That's why we didn't see major superpower like Osea or Erusia getting involved in this game.
Actually ACX was my first AC game and it gave me the will to fly and made me fall in love withe both the skies and modern warplanes. Then i played AC Joint Assault and i was like "damn it why am i alone to play this? It was made for coop campaing!!!!" And then AC7 made me fall in love of the whole Ace Combat serie and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! ACX was my beginning! I am Aurelian in my heart no matter what my id card say!
As someone who owns this on the PSP I highly recommend pirating it. The game is terribly optimized for actual PSP hardware and the framerate routinely dips into the single digits. I also find this game to be my second AC game, holy "trinity" be dammed.
If X got a remaster I'd literally die from happiness. X was sooo good. (And I'm not saying this just because it was my first AC and the only other one was 7, nope, no nostalgia there). Seriously tho, it's just...good.
Oh c'mon, the turret segment at least makes some sense and doesn't punish you for playing it. Unlike the DFM mode. Still everything else you said is largely correct. Though I love Infinity.
I adore X above several other entries in the franchise. My uncle gave it to me as a hand me down gift one day and it was my gateway into the rest of the series. Just finished 7 the other day and it’s been a hell of a ride these past several years
My first Ace Combat game is X2 which is also on PSP.I think its coolest part is it's the only AC game that you can carry two SPW in the same time(regular missile is just an option).But its story is wired since it took part in our world(and less reasonable than AH's story).
I loved Ace Combat x, joint assault was pretty good too, Ace Combat 7 is awesome, glad they didn't go with assault horizon 2. Sadly AC 7 doesn't have branching story like X though.
Game deserves a remaster ESP since bc it took place after AC7. Also the choose your path thing in this one needs to come back in the next Ace Combat game.

Well im a veteran psp player and i completed this game at ton of time now and already got every aircraft in the game and this is the game that will always stay both in my mind and our hearts, i prefer the aircrafts f-22,fenrir,forneus,X-02,and a-10

Loved the cariburn fighter on this game. Best fighter in my opinion. Would love to see it in another ace combat game. The multi branching campaign made it feel so much more strategic and realistic in regards to a military campaign.
Hot take the AC fan base puts story on way to high of a pedestal and I say this as someone who considers AC5's story the best non-RPG story in a video game. I'm sick of seeing people be turned away from really great games like AC6 and the 3DS game just because the plot is boring
The 3DS is a solid one tho, its the remake of Ace Combat 2. I sold my O3DS and bought a New 3DS only to play it in a higher resolution and better framerate. It's a challenging game.

The fact that it was less "reasonable" than AH's story is what makes it better than AH.
I loved Ace Combat x, joint assault was pretty good too, Ace Combat 7 is awesome, glad they didn't go with assault horizon 2. Sadly AC 7 doesn't have branching story like X though.

Game deserves a remaster ESP since bc it took place after AC7. Also the choose your path thing in this one needs to come back in the next Ace Combat game.

Omg playing Ace Combat on psp is really hard, but it's also fun and challenging

Well im a veteran psp player and i completed this game at ton of time now and already got every aircraft in the game and this is the game that will always stay both in my mind and our hearts, i prefer the aircrafts f-22,fenrir,forneus,X-02,and a-10

I’m so happy you made this. This really is the underrated gem of the franchise. Note:it’s not the best. It was on a PSP. Bu thank you for giving the only AC with branching paths a worth while nod.

When ace combat x2 joint assault review?
Loved the cariburn fighter on this game. Best fighter in my opinion. Would love to see it in another ace combat game. The multi branching campaign made it feel so much more strategic and realistic in regards to a military campaign.
Hot take the AC fan base puts story on way to high of a pedestal and I say this as someone who considers AC5's story the best non-RPG story in a video game. I'm sick of seeing people be turned away from really great games like AC6 and the 3DS game just because the plot is boring
The 3DS is a solid one tho, its the remake of Ace Combat 2. I sold my O3DS and bought a New 3DS only to play it in a higher resolution and better framerate. It's a challenging game.
