This amazing small home is a unique combination of industrial and whimsical styles and is largely made from reclaimed and recycled materials, resulting in an incredibly spacious and luxurious home. Even more incredible is the story of this home's construction and its builder.

Both Matt's home and his personal story are incredible. I often say that my absolute favourite part of my job is the people that I get to meet and this weeks story is a perfect example of that. Matt is one of the most inspirational, creative and hard working people that I've ever met. I have to say, I watched this video 5 times, in a row. This build was more than about a house. I was so inspired, moved, encouraged and amazed, by what Matt was able to do and the reasons behind it. His house is stunning but his personality is so much more. Never, have I been emotional about a house, but here I am, so honored, humbled and grateful, to have seen this video.

I have watched literally thousands of tiny house videos and this house is my favorite. Matt is amazing 👏 and has done an incredible job creating this beautiful house. You can tell that Bryce was immensely impressed by the house and by Matt. The message of conquering uncertainty (with this build and his medical challenges) is a wonderful reminder that despite life's struggles, there is beauty in the struggle. Life is so precious and Matt reminds us to be grateful and always try to grow and be content with what you have and where you are in life.
Such a beautiful home and such a beautiful soul. You can feel his passion for everything. The world needs more people like this gentleman. 🤗❤

"Your emotions can really lie to you" -- probably one of the most important things you'll ever learn... This might be my favorite episode ever. The tiny house is amazing, but as others have said, Matt is even more amazing. I don't think I've seen another house that truly reflects its owner/builder to the extent that this one does.

Matt is amazing and such a lovely soul. I have never seen a dwelling incorporate a person's history and identity as much as Matt's place. It is so inspirational! This is such an amazing story! Matt seems like he’d be one of the nicest people you could ever interact with. His use of reclaimed materials and design incorporation is genius. He knocked this build out of the park. I’m late to the party, but the production and story here are fantastic.

This is perhaps the most beautiful house ~ small or large ~ that I've seen in a while. I too built my own house (in 1988 and I'm 67 now in 2021) and I have loved every minute of living in it. Although my own house is a bit larger at 40' by 28', my journey with it was very similar to Matt's description of his. I built everything in my own house besides the plumbing and the foundation cement work. I hope that Matt overcomes his medical problem so that he can enjoy his home for many many years to come.

This is the first home I have seen that included several pieces of sentiment without a look of clutter. Every piece has not only a place, it looks like it belongs where he put them. Here is young man, full of life & brightness, who will likely not achieve my years. But he HAS achieved a very happy successful productive life, when many would just give up.
He is spending his life studying the amazing wildlife of B.C. and living in a home full of charm, character + creativity. The only thing more charming is this beautiful young man's soul.

This made my heart skip a beat. SO much to admire about this man and his house. I cannot believe his perseverance in building arguably the best house I've ever seen, and doing it with no experience and while being affected by the challenges that come with having CF. This episode was amazing. What a humble and talented person. Thank you!

No kidding! Matt has an infectious and beautiful personality that you just want to be around with no matter what. I love that vibe I get from him here because I can instantly feel a connection with the dude around struggling through tough times in life with illness to the love of grandiose and epic aesthetics! Like, I can't stress that enough how much heart is in the home as well as the person. I love how he is open about stuff like dealing with that pain and not shying away from what makes him feel like "a man" as he is expressing his emotions with sincerity. I really wish him the best of luck in continuing to persevere and for him to find someone he loves and shares his great enthusiasm. Really deserves it! :)
Is it just me or there a catch in his throat when he speaks of the many things in his home which reflect his own history? Quite a man, handsome, passionate, sincere, a nature lover ... quite poignant and very inspirational ‼️👍✌️

I felt that the catch in his voice was modulation for his breathing difficulties. He is quite remarkable.
He has cystic fibrosis!! That’s why his voice sounds that way.

I am so impressed by his talents he didn't know he had. The inside looks like the hall of an impressive old mansion. I would love to hear him play the violin there. The acoustics would be heavenly.

The documentary, "65 Red Roses" brought the disease to my attention. Such a horror... up there with ALS. My grandmother died from ALS. Two neighbor children died from CF. With the technology of today, no one should ever have such disease.
i was smiling all throughout the vid. even had a wider smile everytime matt said "yeah" before explaining something. lol.his enthusiasm and attitude

I have viewed this episode at least 6-7 times! I've saved it to my favorites so whenever I need a dose of inspiration it 's close at hand. Matt has managed to be super creative and have continuity throughout his home. So often people end up with a tiny home that is a mix of so many different styles that there is no place to feel peace and relax! Matt shares wisdom thru his experiences and makes the listener wish he was a personal friend! Hands down my favorite tiny home.......and my favorite interview of a super talented guy!
