So him throwing the mask in the trash was a subtle way of letting the audience know what type of person the joker is

    “Introduce a little anarchy,
    Upset the established order,
    Everything becomes chaos,
    I am an agent of chaos.”
    This one scene shows exactly that, Arthur takes guy 1’s mask, guy 1 shoves him into guy 2, guy 2 swings on guy 1 and a riot erupts. The police continue to give chase and one of the cops shoot an innocent civilian. Thus the mob attacks the cops. Arthur unwittingly causes the chaos that brings the people upon the cops and then ultimately, the citizens upon the city. Brilliant writing and very realistic.

    The scene where Arthur takes off the mask and bins it is so cleverly done. Here's why.
    The clown mask represents Arthur. Down to a T. The mask in the trash represents that Arthur is gone. And the joker is finally born. The score helps coordinate that Arthur fleck has died. He's finally come to terms with who he *really* is. He's been reborn as the joker.
    Top notch storytelling right there

    I just read a new article where the stunt coordinator of "Joker" reveals interesting things about Arthur's transition into Joker!
    "Although it isn't mentioned in the film, that collision (with the taxi cab) is a key part of Arthur's transition into Joker. Before going on Live with Murray Franklin, he had planned to kill himself on live television. But as he ran from the police, being hit by a car sent him into shock and gave him a rush of adrenaline. Even though he was injured, he wasn't in pain. He actually felt stronger, at least temporarily. His heart rate increased, he had a surge of energy, and with his mental focus suddenly sharpened, he was able to quickly formulate a new plan."
    "It's an added advantage as he goes on the Murray Franklin show," Aguilar says. "As soon as you get in a situation like the one he was in, the adrenaline keeps you up, and your survival instinct kicks in. You might feel invincible. You'd think, 'This doesn't hurt. You can't hurt me.' You wouldn't feel the pain until much later."

      @@StraightEdgeKnight19 dude, Heath ledger's Joker was good, but he's not the best of all time. The most overated Joker is Jack Nicholson's Joker. Phoenix's Joker was definitely the most realistic at least. If he's not above ledger, he's definitely tied with him.

    • @datopg0
      @datopg0 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You know I don’t really like comparing between the performances. I thought Ledger’s was amazing and Pheonix’s as well. But to say which one was the best I don’t think one is better than the other. I think their both the best and that they worked very hard to really become this character. The difference is that Ledger’s Joker is like a force, he’s like a person that causes chaos, he’s an agent of chaos. Ledger’s joker is like invincible and powerful. But in Phoenix’s version, Arthur is like a person you can step on and bully and beat up all the time which they people that beat him up didn’t know how much it would affect Arthur. Arthur is to the point where he’s like screw it if this society wants to treat me like a bad person and beat me up, might as well do the same. So the big difference is that Ledger’s joker is more anarchy and more chaos and that his joker is like unstoppable and powerful. But Phoenix’s Joker is more realistic this version was more real and it dug deep into mental illness and showed what would happen if a man like Arthur was in a society like Gotham where everyone steps on you. That’s why I say I don’t like comparing both Ledger and Phoenix.
