They just hit the market recently.
Look up their IDW Prime, Bumblebee, IDW Megatron, Hound, and Devastator. They are gonna be sweet! I talked to their rep at TFCon and she said their SD "Deformers" line was on hold, which is sad because they had a very G1 Soundwave, Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Bumblebee. :)

Optimus came out a few months ago, but Starscream just shipped in the US recently.

It's only a matter of time before kitbashing makes a truck mode.
You've particularly piqued my interest in these kits, I'm guessing that unlike Gunpla, these won't be continuously available in the future.

Man... these look promising! I’m a huge Transformers fan! funny that around this time (Thanksgiving Week 1983) the story and character bios were being created and getting ready for the 1984 release 👍🏼

The original Gundam anime debuted in 1979 which was at least 5 years prior to the original Transformers series (September 1984).
If anybody's ripping anybody off, its Optimus Prime! The faceplate/lower jaw, eyes, and general configuration of Prime's head DOWN TO A MODERNIZED SAMURAI HELMET is derived from the RX-78 Gundam, NOT the other way around!
Now, to be fair, there's only so many ways you can reinvent the "look" of robots and Sunrise has never gone after Takara/Hasbro for any copyright infringement because it's silly. The Japanese companies don't generally behave as openly antagonistically towards each other as they do on-and-off in the US and NOBODY in Japan has lawyers as nasty as Disney's!
(Other crap goes on in Japan but from what I understand they are generally NOT as openly hostile and cursing each other out in public, either, when people DO hate each other's guts. They just occasionally give cold hard stares and congratulate each other publicly! Opposing company officers may hate each other's guts but they generally behave much more politely and formally in Japan.)
FYI, I LIKE Optimus Prime and the Gundam design but it didn't take me long to realize the Gundam-like look of Optimus Prime once I read up on my anime history.

The head and face of Optimus Prime is clearly patterned after a Gundam, not the other way around.
There was a five-year gap between the debut of the two series, Gundam was clearly first, and even the toys that became Transformers came AFTER Gundam, not before.
Now I might get the optmuis.i love both transformers and gundam.

I'd be down for FMP kits..I was really sad when Tokyopop went defunct in the states cause they were the ones doing the light novels for FMP..I managed to hunt them all down shortly after they went defunct so they weren't super expensive. Sadly no one has picked up the rights to continue the remaining novels and it doesn't seem like the revived Tokyopop is going to do them either..

You know when I was a kid I got into the gundam and transformer hobby because my dad would buy them for me. Turned out 16 years later, when he said he would bring me to a gundam convention, turned out to be a transformer convention and he told me he thought they were the same thing xD

its designed by the guy from trigger studios, so that's why the super robot proportions and stylized are so familiar and catchy.

Yes! I love these. Might have to pick one up. Go for Optimus first. TBH there aren't a lot of good looking transformers toys that transform. The really awesome looking ones don't even transform
Having built the Optimus, I'm gonna throw in a few suggestions. Highly recommend gluing together the shoulders, as well as any other loose bits. Other than that, fantastic kit
They should make gunpla for any robot that looks cool.
Can't wait for these to show up in new gundam breaker.

Damn, these look so friggin cool. I want them. All of them. This is a dream come true. For some time I've wanted Transformer style model kits. Get a few of them, paint them up, add some 28mm wargaming figures, got a wargaming GI Joe / Mask / Transformers syle tabletop crossover. An 80s kid / wargamer's dream.

Flame Toys was a third party company btw. It's good that they did what they had to do to get license. Oh how I wish DragonMomoko did this too since DM's kits match Bandai's quality.

I actually left my transformers habit FOR a return to gunpla (1997-2006 then 2014-present). But I can’t deny the superb molds of these new kits. Sharp strategy, Bandai.

Guess I am old too considering I have G1 Transformers as well, Though I may be on the "younger" end since I was born in 1985.
