    Great advice, especially about avoiding the expensive car. The Camry I own free and clear drives so much better than a brand new Lexus with an $800 a month payment. Take the money you would be putting towards a car and investment it instead, your future self will thank you.

    Hi, I just discovered your channel today and it’s full of knowledge! I was just wondering what was your first accounting job before becoming a tax manager? (Btw congrats on everything so far)

    • @FinancialMatter
      @FinancialMatter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mohammed! I started as a bookkeeping intern for 2 companies. I later became a tax intern for one of the Big 4s. Afterwards, I became an associate then senior before coming a manager!

    Big4 salaries are slowly rising. Getting a MSA and MST makes a difference. I can confirm NYC Big4 salaries for tax w/o MST is in mid 60K range whereas with the MST its in the low 70K range. However, they seem generally lower than starting salaries for let's say healthcare - RN, PA, RPH, etc. I've noticed a shift of CPAs are pursuing other interests such as compsci & healthcare as result of the work life balance & generally higher starting pay.

    Can accountants make 100k? How is this even a question? Growing up, any rich person in our community was either a doctor, lawyer, or CPA. I've always associated it with money. To be a partner at even a large regional firm means serious money.

  • @GrizzTrades
    @GrizzTrades ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, but you have been getting under paid from the start. If you have your CPA, you should not be accepting any salary under 150k. Big 4 look great under your belt but never pay you what you deserve.

    • @leonydus9889
      @leonydus9889 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      How are you suppose to tell them “pay me 150k” as no one gets that?
