You can watch the full sparring footage over on the Siam Boxing TH-cam Channel, along with plenty more.
In this video we take a look at the differences between Muay Thai Style and K1 style Kickboxing sparring. Depending on the rule set you are training for you may need to make some adjustments when transitioning between. If you are an MMA Fighter it may be beneficial to spar with students of both styles and experiment with the way both styles operate.

    Very detailed breakdown.
I never knew that in k1 rules a punch and a kick are scored evenly.. Weird. I always thought kicks get higher scores and . And what you said about a muay Thai guy expecting a kick after the 1 2 punch combo isn't always the case throws them off guard sometimes. I think Superbon as technical as he is does have problems with that when he encountered problems in the ring correct if I'm wrong. Nice video.

I have a question and was wondering if you knew. I realized how much more developed the U.K is in Muay Thai compared the U.S. There are much more pros and high level fighters there why is that?

Cause the USA sucks! They’d rather do boxing and focus on wrestling around in singlets and rolling with other half naked men in “no-gi” attire than learn and fight like a real man.
J/k, I’m from the USA, and just my opinion. I think a lot of guys are focusing on Boxing. It’s easier to find quality boxing gyms in many places, especially the low income and government housing areas. Boxing gyms were the norm growing up. Muay Thai was rare, but there were McDojo’s everywhere.
Wrestling is a sport that we have in school, so some people gravitate towards this sport also in the off-season (freestyle-Greco). Plus wrestling & boxing Is an affordable sport for a kid/family on a budget.
Muay thai gyms were very rare when I was growing up in Northern California in the 80s and 90s. There was a lot of boxing and traditional martial arts.
Nowadays, there’s a lot of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu academies and MMA schools. Most offer some striking classes, but they do not specialize in strictly Muay thai. But there are gyms that do run Muay Thai programs.

Thank you for commenting! It can be a tough life as a puncher in Muay that cant it haha but Muay mat can transition over to K1 style well! Thanks again for the comment 😄👊
