Hilarious dialogue aside, I gotta admit, having looked David Amado Fernandez up, the MGS clones and RE clones seem to come from a place of legit passion. And in a market dominated by shit ad exploitation and gatcha bs I always admire mobile/android devs that seem to actually care about what they're making beyond just trying to make a quick buck.
That's the kind of stuff I download even if I never touch it, just for the sake of rewarding genuine effort. Any free game with no ads or in app purchases deserves kudos.
It's like going back to flash games, which were also done with passion and no pay-to-win either.

@@Aredein And some Flash Games had massive banner ads and redirects while others would be minimalist and/or let you download offline versions... It's just like indies and any other free market.
It's always a shame to me that open platforms like Steam, Android, EShop, etc. get shit for "lack of quality control" when in reality the same system that allows mountains of trash on the store is the same system that makes it easy for indies and passion projects to get out there. There are a ton of good mobile games. They're just mostly either premium or obscure.
I understand that the point of this segment is to show the worst of the worst, and I too find it entertaining to laugh at all the low-effort exploitative trash, but I just think it's important to keep in mind that not everyone making android games is in it to milk kids and gullible adults.
That MGS clone is actually from 2012-2013, i think. So it was before almost everything on Android became shitty gacha trash filled with ads. There are a lot of great gems from that time that are very hard to find nowadays.
@@marx4538 there are still a surprising amount of good android games made recently tho. They're just either premium or obscure. Sometimes they aren't even on the store and are just floating apks hosted on personal sites.

I’d rather they focus on other things, and... pokemon doesn’t need it.

They even learned from the AAAs and lock certain pokes behind dlcs, how quaint.

I don't really care about video games any more, but I still play the ones I grew up with because they're familiar and comfortable. In general, I don't like "fresh" stuff - I value comfort and familiarity over originality and change.
(also I just don't like the style of the 3D main series Pokemon games. That's nothing to do with nostalgia, it's just not appealing to me.)
