This was great! I didn't write them down as I'm crocheting while listening, but I only got 5 or so wrong which, considering I'm from England and don't know some of the people or brands mentioned, isn't too shabby! Tunisian crochet was my gateway to traditional crochet as the back and forth aspect made more sense to me, and I could also better identify the individual stitches. Once I knew what I was looking at, I tried traditional crochet again, and the difference was like night and day. Thanks for this fun upload, Elise. I hope you enjoyed it too 🥰🧶

This was fun! Uhm... would I be bragging to say that I didn't miss a question? Also... The question about the slip knot... if you really think about it, even with the magic ring, your first stitch is still the slip knot, because that's what you make in the ring to turn it into the magic ring... you make a chain... what are chains but a series of slip knots? 😁

Hi! My name is Sandy. I just discovered you and TL on TH-cam and I can’t wait to watch every single video y’all put out! I took this quiz and was shocked to find that I was *advanced*! I am a left-handed, self-taught crocheter. I learned the basics from a Lady’s Circle magazine from probably the early 80s and had no idea that I was doing it backwards. (I used my left hand, but followed the right-handed instructions, if that makes any sense) I just recently discovered that there is such a thing as a left-handed pattern…and that I cannot follow one to save my life! I would love to learn how to knit. I taught myself to cast on, knit and purl (can’t remember which is which - it has been a spell since I tried). I don’t know how to cast off and/or fasten off. Maybe I should stick with crochet, ha! There are plenty of beautiful patterns to keep me busy. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I look forward to learning all you and TL care to share. When I grow up, I hope to be just like y’all (I’m 56… I wish I would hurry up!)

Oh this is a fun idea for a video, I guessed 4mm was the most common, as that’s what the majority of the ball bands I have suggest to use, but I wonder if that’s a UK thing too? As DK is most common and thinner than worsted? Or it’s just a me thing 😆
Fun quiz! I scored a 26! I excel in the knowledge side of things more than the experience side, so I still consider myself a beginner. I only have 6 projects under my belt (3 amigurumi, 2 garments, 1 lap blanket), and 2 WIPs (1 amigurumi, 1 massive quilt) One pro tip for future quizzes... Do a small "3... 2...1..." countdown AFTER listing all the options so people have time to pause the video, or to give a lil thought before you give the answer. I consider myself to have "missed" two of the questions because I was spoilered on the answer before I could think about the question. Look forward to the next one! (and any more history type videos on fiber crafts too, those are some of my faves as well!)

I've been crocheting as a hobby for the last 6 or so years and scored a 22! I love your videos and the others I've watched here to help me make things for myself and family.
I googled the kinds of hooks, but it did not mention Tunisian. Now I could tell the difference between the taper and the line hook. Every New Year's my resolution is to finish all my WIPs before I start new projects. I won't start until I have only one. According to "this" quiz I am an advanced. I consider myself a novice because I have been crocheting for only about 6 years. I always learn something new from your videos. Thank you, Elsie
Great way to spread the knowledge, I got a 30, but I do have a degree in textiles. I love the feel of any fiber in my finger and want to share that feeling with others. I try to teach anyone who wants to learn, crocheting, knitting, weaving and so on. Keep up the good work with your videos, I love them too!
Love your videos! I stilled learned a few new things! One thing I would like to add is question #4, there is another type of hook. The double ended or cro-knit hook. Very similar to Tunisian crochet as it looks like knitting also, but the hook is just that, double hook ends. Lots of fun to do. Thank you for all that you add to our crochet knowledge!

I got 26 right. I started from square one less than 3 weeks ago - no crochet hooks, knew nothing about yarn and I’ve been crocheting like crazy, and watching tons of YT videos.
This was good fun and informative! I knew most of the answers although I really am a novice at the craft. I confess; I used to be a continental knitter. Well, maybe intermediate crocheter if I get points for the knowledge. I may have the knowledge, but the skill remains to be seen. Amigarumi is new to me, but I won’t be going in that direction. It’s adorable, but has no function in my world, and I create with function at the forefront. I will never play golf because I would have nothing to show for my time, and I craft for the pleasure of the work, the enjoyment of the material itself, and having something functional to show for my time. I love what you’re doing here! You have room for all of us! 😁

I only missed one- the one about the Amigurumi book. I have only ever made one Amigurumi project, a Bernie Sanders doll for my son-in-law. I counted my crochet hook answer correct, although I did not answer that there are 3 kinds, because you did not mention Double ended crochet hooks, making 4 kinds. The quiz was fun!! I really enjoy your videos, and your positive upbeat style 🙂

I got 22 correct. I'm from Australia and didn't know the history of red heart yarn and some of the US questions. I learned to crochet a granny square blanket when I was 10 (I'm now 61) but never followed patterns. Now I follow You tube tutorials and so I refer to all the stitches in US terminology.

I got 20 points at the low end of advanced which is very surprising as I've only recently learned how to crochet a month ago, and especially since I don't live in the US and have never heard of Red Heart or know of Vanna White's brand. And I hold the yarn in my left hand wrong. But I am immersing myself in crochet because it's such fun. I have only crocheted almost four 20cm x 20cm simple granny squares so far but I've already bought myself a set of ergonomic crochet hooks and lots of practice yarn and I hope to continue crocheting for many years and develop my skills.

I'm learning so much from you, and enjoying every minute of it! I got a few wrong (still learning!), but the one that is stumping me is question 4, how many hook types are there? I got the answer right (3), but my answer was different from yours. I was thinking inline, tapered and hybrid; so far as I know, tunisian crochet uses those same three hook types, so am I missing something? Along with my budding interest in amigurumi (again, thanks to your vids), I'm also interested in branching out into tunisian crochet, because I've also been watching Toni's vids, and I'm intrigued by the rhythmic and meditative quality of it. You mentioned you haven't taken the dive into tunisian crochet yet, but if you do, I'd love to see some of your videos on it! It'd be fun to explore it together, and I'm curious if there'd be a way to merge the two techniques somehow? By the by, every time I watch one of your vids, my eyes are drawn to that pudgy kitty amigurumi in the pink dress behind you, OMG....so CUTE!!! Do you have a how-to vid on that one? That kitty is just calling to me!!!
Considering knitting is my baby, and crochet takes second place, I did well. Some of the questions also applied to knitting, so that helped. This was fun. I never knew there are 3 types of crochet hooks. 😮. Regarding “frogging” I’ve learned “tinking” is the new term to undo your mistakes in knitting because it’s “knit” backwards. Thanks for the fun education! 👍👏

Yes I love quizes They're a fantastic learing tool. Because anything you get wrong,helps you remember and learn the correct answer next time you encounter it. I also love learning the history,Abreviations and anything that has to do with reading a pattern is my weakness, because I learned crochet and stitches by watching so Anything onreading patterns and/or pattern graphes will help me. I also like that it shows me that I do got this , yes I do know and understand this craft I have come to love. Which is encouraging and givees me lots of confidence to try more. Oh I most tell you I also enoyed your editing it was cute and made the show fun. I have been watching you regurally for several years and I love that you show includes a variety of different content . My favorite show was the one on 1 or 2 skein patterns that were mostly free and the ones you shared were absolutely awesome,cute and beautiful. Well, I scored Advanced but just 'cause I know the answers, doesn't mean I can crochet like that!! I think I know just enough to get myself into trouble. 😅 For some reason, I thought I could take a pattern, change the yarn weight, change the stitch, then decide I liked something done a different way so changed course! My Grandson had his Dad take a picture of a monkey in a store. They sent me the picture and asked me to make one! I did it but it looks nothing like the one in the store. I just finished it today and will give it to my Grandson tomorrow. He picked out the yarn and has watched me make it in stages but it looks so different once you get the face on! I am anxious to see his expression and I hope he likes it. I still don't consider myself "advanced" but I am always up for a challenge, and I love trying out new stitches. Thanks for the quiz. I googled the kinds of hooks, but it did not mention Tunisian. Now I could tell the difference between the taper and the line hook. Every New Year's my resolution is to finish all my WIPs before I start new projects. I won't start until I have only one. According to "this" quiz I am an advanced. I consider myself a novice because I have been crocheting for only about 6 years. I always learn something new from your videos. Thank you, Elsie

Great way to spread the knowledge, I got a 30, but I do have a degree in textiles. I love the feel of any fiber in my finger and want to share that feeling with others. I try to teach anyone who wants to learn, crocheting, knitting, weaving and so on. Keep up the good work with your videos, I love them too!

Love your videos! I stilled learned a few new things! One thing I would like to add is question #4, there is another type of hook. The double ended or cro-knit hook. Very similar to Tunisian crochet as it looks like knitting also, but the hook is just that, double hook ends. Lots of fun to do.

This was good fun and informative! I knew most of the answers although I really am a novice at the craft. I confess; I used to be a continental knitter. Well, maybe intermediate crocheter if I get points for the knowledge. I may have the knowledge, but the skill remains to be seen. Amigarumi is new to me, but I won’t be going in that direction. It’s adorable, but has no function in my world, and I create with function at the forefront. I will never play golf because I would have nothing to show for my time, and I craft for the pleasure of the work, the enjoyment of the material itself, and having something functional to show for my time. I love what you’re doing here! You have room for all of us! 😁

I only missed one- the one about the Amigurumi book. I have only ever made one Amigurumi project, a Bernie Sanders doll for my son-in-law. I counted my crochet hook answer correct, although I did not answer that there are 3 kinds, because you did not mention Double ended crochet hooks, making 4 kinds. The quiz was fun!! I really enjoy your videos, and your positive upbeat style 🙂

I got 22 correct. I'm from Australia and didn't know the history of red heart yarn and some of the US questions. I learned to crochet a granny square blanket when I was 10 (I'm now 61) but never followed patterns. Now I follow You tube tutorials and so I refer to all the stitches in US terminology.

I got 20 points at the low end of advanced which is very surprising as I've only recently learned how to crochet a month ago, and especially since I don't live in the US and have never heard of Red Heart or know of Vanna White's brand. And I hold the yarn in my left hand wrong. But I am immersing myself in crochet because it's such fun. I have only crocheted almost four 20cm x 20cm simple granny squares so far but I've already bought myself a set of ergonomic crochet hooks and lots of practice yarn and I hope to continue crocheting for many years and develop my skills.

~*~LOVE~*~ the quiz! So much fun! I scored in the "advanced" category, not because of my crochet experience, but largely due to your videos. I'm learning so much from you, and enjoying every minute of it! I got a few wrong (still learning!), but the one that is stumping me is question 4, how many hook types are there? I got the answer right (3), but my answer was different from yours. I was thinking inline, tapered and hybrid; so far as I know, tunisian crochet uses those same three hook types, so am I missing something? Along with my budding interest in amigurumi (again, thanks to your vids), I'm also interested in branching out into tunisian crochet, because I've also been watching Toni's vids, and I'm intrigued by the rhythmic and meditative quality of it. You mentioned you haven't taken the dive into tunisian crochet yet, but if you do, I'd love to see some of your videos on it! It'd be fun to explore it together, and I'm curious if there'd be a way to merge the two techniques somehow? By the by, every time I watch one of your vids, my eyes are drawn to that pudgy kitty amigurumi in the pink dress behind you, OMG....so CUTE!!! Do you have a how-to vid on that one? That kitty is just calling to me!!!

Considering knitting is my baby, and crochet takes second place, I did well. Some of the questions also applied to knitting, so that helped. This was fun. I never knew there are 3 types of crochet hooks. 😮. Regarding “frogging” I’ve learned “tinking” is the new term to undo your mistakes in knitting because it’s “knit” backwards. Thanks for the fun education! 👍👏

Yes I love quizes They're a fantastic learing tool. Because anything you get wrong,helps you remember and learn the correct answer next time you encounter it. I also love learning the history,Abreviations and anything that has to do with reading a pattern is my weakness, because I learned crochet and stitches by watching so Anything onreading patterns and/or pattern graphes will help me. I also like that it shows me that I do got this , yes I do know and understand this craft I have come to love. Which is encouraging and givees me lots of confidence to try more. Oh I most tell you I also enoyed your editing it was cute and made the show fun. I have been watching you regurally for several years and I love that you show includes a variety of different content . My favorite show was the one on 1 or 2 skein patterns that were mostly free and the ones you shared were absolutely awesome,cute and beautiful. Well, I scored Advanced but just 'cause I know the answers, doesn't mean I can crochet like that!! I think I know just enough to get myself into trouble. 😅 For some reason, I thought I could take a pattern, change the yarn weight, change the stitch, then decide I liked something done a different way so changed course! My Grandson had his Dad take a picture of a monkey in a store. They sent me the picture and asked me to make one! I did it but it looks nothing like the one in the store. I just finished it today and will give it to my Grandson tomorrow. He picked out the yarn and has watched me make it in stages but it looks so different once you get the face on! I am anxious to see his expression and I hope he likes it. I still don't consider myself "advanced" but I am always up for a challenge, and I love trying out new stitches. Thanks for the quiz.
