@Yeltnerb 1 its not too bad, this is what the vast majority of people know the song as cuz this is what they put on the radio and all. The full one can be a lil overwhelming lol at least for the first listen.
This is the edited version, they cut out the sickest part. This genre was called Nu-Metal, which is metal heavily infused with hip-hop. Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Disturbed , P.O.D. among others.
Really? Doesn't sound like nu metal to me...but what do I know. I'm not an expert in the genre but I worked the industry for 20 years. Maybe I need to do my research.
@@moniqueleroux2198 For this album they definitely were. They went in a different direction after. But I'm no expert either, just a fan and music lover for my 50 years on the planet. But please keep trying to impress with your "20 years in the industry". said on the internet....

I know you're jamming this out but I insist you have to check out the explicit version it's so much better, they hear the song you got to listen to the whole song and now where they cut it out
They didn't even just edit out the words though, they cut out whole parts of the song, the whole screaming, then quiet, slow down, build back up to rage.
Aft 9/11 this was the first concert that played in our area he came out of a rubber caccoOn screaming USA USA. I had tickets to the Down With The Sickness 2020 tour with Staind and Bad Wolves and they just finally cancelled it last month. I have nothing to live for 🥺😭😭 I don’t even care about Bad Wolves but Disturbed and Staind? My inner 14 year old is grieving.
watch the official video for this song! this band is from my hometown Chicago! check out their videos stupify, land of confusion, pray, indestructible!
I just took my oldest to a disturb concert this summer. What your hearing is damn close to real life. If u get a chance to go. Do it. They are awesome live.
I'm so glad you did this song. one of my favorites by Disturbed, Hate is a sickness. When I want to get out some aggression...this is the one to crank up. lol
You nailed it man. They are a lot like Link in Park yet very different. They hide their hip hop rhythm behind even more metal. Many metal fans didn't even notice it or understand why they sounded different. LP is hip hop (or pop) with a splash of metal. Disturbed is metal with a splash of hip hop. This is the sing that made Disturbed famous BTW.
Anything that pops with you can be pop anything that head bangs you is a head bang anything that is spoken word rhyming to music is rap it's all your perception of how you interpret music that's the beauty of music
This ones on what I call my HeadMed playlist....When I'm having a bad day and my heads tryn to go into that dark place, I can listen to this song and it changes my mood from dark to light.
That's what metal is definitely all about. Speaking the truth and hurt into existence so you can dispell it from your body. All about feeling someone relates to you and what you're going through.
You will be going down the disturb rabbit hole. Thay have a lot of good songs that get you pumped. They are definitely one of the best hard rock bands of the 2000 era.
You familiar with the entire Lawn Care Dance? You start out sowing the seeds, the sprinkler, and mowing the lawn? I don’t know if it was something just by buddy did or was a larger thing
All Disturbed original songs actually address issues within society. In the middle of the song, lead singer David Draiman acts out a skit where he is being abused by his mother (not in this version). Finally, he builds up enough courage and hits her right back. This is used to symbolize how "mother society" abuses "her" children for not being the way "she" thinks they should. "She" keeps doing it until "her" children get sick of it and are so angry with her and themselves they go out and get revenge for it, most likely by killing the people that hurt them ("here it comes, get ready to die!"). 10,000 Fists in the Air is about unity. You should listen to that one too.,
You mentioned about liking the drums in this song. Slipknot "Sulfur" has such a wicked, fast drum beat going, and "Snuff" has such a deep drum play in this song that I blast my stereo to this song when I drive since it makes my heart thump deep from the drums.
I saw this live at Starwood in Nashville on my birthday, no idea what year but it was amazing it was also Linkin Park, Muddvayne, Slipknot and Papa Roach... ahhhhhh to be young again 🤩🤩🤩😊🧘🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️
Disturbed and Corn was my late husbands fav bands I found it cool that a black man liked rock music so i diffidently had to check this reaction I guess he wasn't so odd after all
I've never heard LP and Disturbed compared but they were from the same town and were best friends. Disturbed wrote the song "Another Reason to Fight" after LP singer Chester Bennington took his own life.
Okay we need to go really far back. Public Enemy and Anthrax did a song called "Bring the Noise" I think it is the first time a heavy metal band got together with a rap group to do a track.
Thanks for your great reactions, luv! Old lady here, def not a metal fan but these guys! Only discovered them due to the Sounds of Silence cover (watch both the video and the Conan live version). This song tho, yessah, that hook is epic!
love Disturbed, been "Down With The Sickness" since the 2000s and havent missed a beat, like Slipknot it's hard to find something of theirs i dont like!
Metal was around long before hip Hop. You've noticed in your musical journey how everything is pulled from other music. it all starts with the classical and goes on from there. So the hip hop / rock and roll vibe goes way back before anybody ever even thought about rap
Hey glad you doing good I remember when you were at about 23000 that's when I found you keep it up brother and where your kids been Iused to like to see there views on stuff as well you have a good family vibe anyways much love and hope you blow up to 1 million brother
Disturbed and Linkin Park kinda got famous around the same time period... although Linkin Park actually opened for Disturbed back in the day. They were /are good friends, and David Draiman, the singer for Disturbed, was very affected by Chester and Chris Cornell's deaths, and other suicides and mental health issues that affected his life ...he ended up writing the song ' A Reason to Fight', which is an amazing song, which you should react to if you haven't already (i haven't seen it yet if you did ) .... watch the Official Live version.... it is such a powerful video... - Julie

Yup. They cut out the blatant child abuse verse in this version.

@crippledllama1 but most songs are not censored so saying uncensored he knows there is a better version
