  • The Looe Valley Line in Cornwall witnessed a special visitor to the line. Recently restored Railmotor No.93 made breaking ground by running on the scenic branchline which is owned by Network Rail and not a preserved line as it might look. This majestic 1908-built Railmotor which had been restored by the Great Western Society at Didcot in 2011, took part on shuttle workings up and down the line from Liskeard to Looe and back. In this film we see the Railmotor run along the line on some good beauty spots in the valley, unfortunately the promise of good sunny intervals never really occurred untill the penultimate working so it wasn't as a promising greeting to this treasured GWR beauty at first. But the fast performance of this steam coach is what really catches the eye to some! Almost as matching as it's more modern DMU.
Special thanks goes to GWS Didcot, First Great Western & Network Rail for this event
