Alcaraz Carlos made history by becoming the world’s number 1 in pepperstone ATP Rankings History at an age of just 19 years. The Spaniard has accomplished this title by winning the US Open Grand slam on September 11, 2022. Alcaraz entered the 2021 US Open as the World No. 55 and over the last 12 months, he has transformed from boy to man and his first Grand Slam title looked like a case of when and not if. During the whole year, Carlos showed what he is capable of, he showed that he was ready to win the biggest titles by lifting master’s trophies in Miami and Madrid, where he beat Nadal and Novak Djokovic back to back, and proved himself to be a complete player.
And now by winning US Open final against 23-year-old Casper Ruud in New York, he became the first teenager to be the World No. 1 and the fourth Spaniard to do so, joining his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Moya, and Rafael Nadal.
