if its powered by the sun, does that mean you have to constantly wear it?
No need, just make sure to expose it to sunlight by a window or similar for 5-6 hours once every month with the dial facing the sun.
I prefer most Astron SSJ models that also tell day of the week.
They are cool
Personally I’d go for the simpler SBGX073. The less busy dial shows off the navy ‘star field’ effect better.

They are really nice, I am not sure but I think they are all sold now but I imagine they are available on the grey market.
@@RossetBespokeButlers - that’s a surprise, I thought that they only just debuted this or last month? I’m in Japan so I should be alright if I get my A into G in the next few weeks (I always insist on the piece with the best second hand ~ second marker alignment).

Umm... Casio Oceanus G series.
I think the Oceanus uses Multi-band 6 radio sync not GPS. It is another great watch and a very accurate system but not the same.
@@RossetBespokeButlers go check. The Oceanus with the "G" like OCW-G2000 have GPS, but they make several in that "G" series with GPS. The Oceanus that don't have GPS usually come with multiband 6, and often times Bluetooth (except the S100 that is just MB6). Not to mention several Citizens also have GPS.
Definitely not the only solar/GPS watch. In fact... There are even smart watches like this now. Garmin Instinct for one.
@@weasel9062 I did not know they made a GPS Oceanus - it makes sense as it is a better system. The Astron was the world's first GPS solar watch (source Seiko website) but I guess stuff does not stay unique in the watch world for long! Thanks for the information I appreciate it. I still really like it to be honest so it does not really change my opinion on the Astron.
