Audio Technica ATH-M50x ear cushion mod

- This is a simple mod to make the covers for the ear pads of Audio Technica ATH-M50x, this is the first time iam modding something with my M50x's, I have to see whether there is any change in sound signature. I used a new cotton socks for this mod.
But one thing iam happy about, sweating problem is solved, prolonged usage of ATH-M50x becomes unbearable due to heavy sweating. As the material used here is cotton is helping in avoiding soiling the earpads due to sweat. Also iam getting some extra isolation.

the remaining socks can be used for covering the headband also.

Genius! Save me from fiddling n also free fixing. The leather of my headphones had peeled off but the cushion still good. Gonna use this method to cover the earpads.

this is a good idea cuz mines are peeling off i can just cover them with some fabric
Great idea. I was thinking of covering my cushions with fabric. The socks will work better, since the circle is already formed I wont need to worry about gluing fabric together to close the loop. And the elastic should keep the fit snug.

Я тоже носками амбушюры обшил! Долго выбирал носки в магазине, чтобы мягкие и гладкие были. Потом ободрал винил со старых амбушюров, чтобы осталась только ткань. Вырезал два круга из тонкого поролона, положил их сверху и обернул носками. Все как на видео, только я еще прошил по кругу.
Just looooove....it. and a lot easier to remove to wash it than the original one. Thanks man....
This is double useful! I have socks I don't really wear that are cool patterns so now I can use them and not feel like I'm just throwing perfectly fine things away

This is pretty much the best hack everyone should do for their headphones...meanwhile,manufacturers should stop being so damn stingy and allow for proper removal of the ear pads,as well as make them out of a breathable material
Or maybe stop producing leather headphones all together . Especially those with fake leather polish .. its not durable and suitable for those who use headphones a lot like me ..

tbh, we do these kind of things because the average Indian person doesn't have enough disposable income to buy the actual replacements/anything else. Necessity is the mother of creation. We are still far from superpower but i hope so too bro.
