    I have hearing aids. I prefer to wear over ear headphones so i can hear correctly, but the cups are never big enough. They always either don't cover my ear fully or they crush my ears against my head. This video is huge for me, I can now make my headphones more hearing-aid friendly.

    My Skullcandy ear cushions finally fell apart after 3 years of near daily use. I didn't make mine the hollow looking ones, and just used the original foam piece that was inside the material that tore, but this video was a HUGE HELP to get a DIY repair for them, to keep using.
    I used a pair of leggings for the material, and my headphones look brand new! Thank you so much.

      i would suggest finding some material with the same porousness as leather to wrap around the outside of them to keep the tuning that the originals have. a cloth pad will lose a lot of the bass that skullcandys are known for

    I am both impressed and not surprised that mine are all in such bad shape, because this is probably very close to how the originals were made. It seems like the ones I used less wore out more quickly and the ones I used more, thankfully will have replacements available, because those are "at home" headphones now.

      @@sprucius I don’t know how sensitive you are and whether you are familiar with the “feeling of rejection of leather sofas”? In summer you sweat, in winter they make you cold. It's the same with headphones. I would rather change the soft material every six months and enjoy it than experience additional inconvenience.

    I got some old headphone cushions from a cheap headphone as I observe they last longer. I then exchanged the ear cushion on my more expensive headphone. They hard and uncomfortable asf. But they look good and stay on my head and the sound quality is excellent. Been about 5+ years no cracking headphone looks brand new, best mod I ever did in my life.

    • @DeepThinker193
      @DeepThinker193 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sc0pee Saves time and more importantly, money. I still have the headphones with the cheap cushions I exchanged btw. Ghostek Bluetooth 1st Gen. Still looks brand new and battery stills lasts a day and a half.

    • @Sc0pee

      @@DeepThinker193 I got that it saves time and money but you said that the headphones are uncomfortable. I don't see the point of torturing myself to using uncomfortable headphones for 5+ years when I can get a comfortable set for around 100 dollars...

    • @Sc0pee
      @Sc0pee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DeepThinker193 I just made new cushions to my earphones from some old socks lol. Interrestingly, they work pretty well though and are rather comfortable, although the sound is a lit bit dampened. New, different pairs are already on their way in mail though, because it's also a BIG upgrade in terms of sound quality and comfort.

    • @DeepThinker193
      @DeepThinker193 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sc0pee My ear pads are a little on the thin side so the drivers kinda hit my ear, a little but it doesn't bother me until an hour or so passes but I could live with that. Also the paddings are almost as hard as rocks, Iol. You wouldn't know by looking at it. I was gonna to make new cushions using this video at the time I saw it. But then I realized it would take time.
      I had a bad experience long ago when I bought some expensive Dre's and the leather pads flaked off. I then bought new pads for it and the same thing happened in an even shorter time span. I vowed never to let that happen to me again even if the pads were rock solid and uncomfortable, I would buy it so long as it lasted a long time. Not to mention the hinge kept breaking on the Dre's. I hate defective products.
      After some rigorous searching I found these Ghosteks. They had aluminum hinges and good sound quality and even if the leather flaked at the top I could simply rub it off and it would still look good. That left the ear pads. I lucked out as my brother had some cheap dead headphones laying around, so when the ear pads on the Ghosteks inevitably flaked out as they all do. I replaced it with his.
      Long Story short: I would rather have something that lasts long and is uncomfortable. Then something that keeps breaking and I would have to spend time and money to upkeep.

    i've made it and I gota say, it's very comfortable! It gave me some work but it worth :D let's see how much time now I can stay with the headphones on without hurting my ears
    obs.: instead os the the sponge that the guy in the video used, I bought some dishwashing sponge, took off the green part, used some special glue to bond 2 pieces and out of it I got one earpad :D (at the end he used 2 earpads in each ear)
