This cast has excellent chemistry with one another. The cinematography is also impressive. Nick is a phenomenal performer. This is looking great so far.
I love how you can tell how certain clips are from later in the movie based of the warmth of the colors on screen. They get progressively less dull. Peak film making tool
Great to see Nick Robinson back! I thought he would be the next big thing after Love, Simon but some bad project choices stifled that. Hopefully this is a big comeback.
Yeah I loved MI High back in the day! If you want to see the actress in something else she was also on the Jennifer Aniston show The Morning Show recently
I see y’all listing movies that this one seems similar to, so let me add 1 more: The Adjustment Bureau. It’s also giving me Hang the DJ vibes, that season 4 episode of Black Mirror. Both of these deal with couples who decide to go against the system.
omg is that actress Daisy from MI High???!! i used to have a massive crush on her and now on-screen with Nick Robinson who I also had a crush on growing up??? i’m seated
This concept has been done before, the 2015 film EQUALS for example. I like this cast though, I look forward to watching this on a random evening next year.
Another movie where you take away human emotion because you can’t handle it trope I get it and then you give it back and you find out what it means to be truly human to take the bad with the good I get wanting to take away your emotions because life sucks but in doing so you take away what it means to be humanand that’s not good at all so this is what this type of movie is trying to tell a story about there are a lot of movies like this, but yeah, I hope this one’s good
I’m gonna be the negative person here and say this looks pretty tame and doesn’t do anything new. If these people really didn’t know anything about emotions and sex, why do they all pair up as boy/girl? It’d be more interesting to explore the full spectrum of human sexuality being awakened in people that had no clue it existed!
I feel like if it would be a giant orgy if they did that 😆 They probably paired off into boy/girl because a boy and a girl f*cked in front of them and they’re just copying maybe.
Agree. It'll be more nuance if there's a young boy character in the movie who will be a collateral damage on this peculiar experiment like imagine if that character got the wrong pills and develops a sexual attraction towards Nick Robinson's character?👀
Agreed. This film just perpetuates heteronormative, patriarchal, cisgender, ableist, white supremacist tropes. We need queer neurodivergent trans stories. Now.
The premise of this feels like a copy and paste of a movie about teenagers who were in space and taking medicine to suppress their emotions, and I think he was in it.
Now, I know I'm old. This has some overtones of a book I read a few decades ago. I don't recall the title at the moment. Hey, I've read a lot of books in the last 60 decades. I'm 67. Some hints of a few, "stopped taking my pill" movies too.
When I saw the trailer I thought this movie looked ridiculously stupid. I only went to see it because I was curious why the critics were so negative and the audience was so positive. I was presently surprised. I had a great time. It was so stupid, but it felt like it knew it was stupid, so it somehow ended up being really funny.
Another one of these movies. Lol. I like him but this movie seems very awkward. Also, so tired of the idea that having feelings and having a boyfriend or by + sex= happy. You can have all that and still be sad or feel empty!!
The premise for this sounds borrowed from THE GIVER and EQUALS. Except in those movies, these requirements are forced upon the people living there. So I'm confused by the premise of this movie...you're telling me these people willingly live somewhere like this ? Did they not know about sex and happiness and etc. beforehand ? If not, why ? Most trailers give away too much, but this trailer was perhaps too vague on what was going on. I love Nick Robinson, so I may watch it sometime. But this just sounds like more of the same, tbh.
Its like the giver, but not. Or too many others where medication or society is numbing people. But then again what idea has not been derived. Are there any truly new ideas? Kinda scary.
Continue taking your vitamins, CA is a paradise, crime and homelessness are gone away, Newsome is the best Gov ever, Trump is evil..Don't stop taking your vitamins!
Nick Robinson should be a much bigger star by now.
Seriously 🩶💙🩶💙
100%
I miss Nick Robinson!
Yep. The last time I saw him was in that teacher student series. Then he was in Damsel recently but very small role. 😐
Agreed, he’s a good actor
This cast has excellent chemistry with one another. The cinematography is also impressive. Nick is a phenomenal performer. This is looking great so far.

Great to see Nick Robinson back! I thought he would be the next big thing after Love, Simon but some bad project choices stifled that. Hopefully this is a big comeback.
He isn't especially a great actor. Nor is she overly attractive. I can kinda see why he went to interesting indie roles.
Maid and A Teacher. He is fantastic
Did they do it in front of the other people to show what sex was? 😶
Yes. Yes, they did. 😂
you don't??? 😁
You got to be kidding me. Hollywood is running out of ideas lately and just come out with the most bizarre plots just to sell BS

Aw i use to watch her on a british kids show called MI High, glad to see she’s still acting!!

It’s giving Equals and The Giver
IKR
i am saying this. goddamnit. people fucking think of something original.
u beaat me to it. Im reading gathering blue right now
And Brand New World and Equilibrium but without the violence? :D
I was just gonna say that.
I feel like I've seen this style of the movie so many times.
Yes you have, it's a common dystopian trope like The Island, Equals, The Giver, etc
Yup, didn't seem like there's much of a reason to revisit it for me
I see y’all listing movies that this one seems similar to, so let me add 1 more: The Adjustment Bureau.
It’s also giving me Hang the DJ vibes, that season 4 episode of Black Mirror.
Both of these deal with couples who decide to go against the system.
Yes! Hang the DJ is so good! I watched it at least twice a year, lol. The chemistry between the 2 leads is just something else!
@@azizcammioneur7311 AGREED!!!
So basically The Giver plot?
omg is that actress Daisy from MI High???!! i used to have a massive crush on her and now on-screen with Nick Robinson who I also had a crush on growing up??? i’m seated
The Lobster, is this you?
This concept has been done before, the 2015 film EQUALS for example. I like this cast though, I look forward to watching this on a random evening next year.
I will always watch anything Nick Robinson does but this looks really good!
Good to see Nick againnn

Thanks for using some commas at the end, I almost ran out of air

It reminds me of a movie where they took pills to suppress emotion and everything was black and white.
Agreed. This film just perpetuates heteronormative, patriarchal, cisgender, ableist, white supremacist tropes. We need queer neurodivergent trans stories. Now.
@@supermilkguy What ?
So basically Equilibrium without the gun fu...
Looks like, yeah.
One of my favorites.
I prefer the gun fu 😂
Excellent 🏴
Why does Nick Robinson keep accepting this kind of roles ?! 😭
What kind of roles are they? Genuinely curious
Easy money
Voyagers (2021) movie all over again.
exactly.
OMG JANET!
The premise of this feels like a copy and paste of a movie about teenagers who were in space and taking medicine to suppress their emotions, and I think he was in it.
It's just Voyagers with Nick Robinson instead of Tye Sheridan... and Voyagers was just The Giver is just Lord of the Flies etc.
This looks amazing!!!
Oh this looks to be a good one

The GIver
@@orrgin Equilibrium as well.
Omg is Equals vibes
came here to say this.... idk what everyone else is going on about this is a direct copy of equals.
@orrgin You're right, in fact the lead actress also acted in the movie "Equals", coincidence? I don't think so.
So, it's a movie about Lithium?
Brave new world hooked up with The Giver but was thinking about Black Mirror and this was shat out
This looks really interesting. Reintroducing or reminding the audience of the beauty of life among all the negativity that can be around us.
Damn, Nick has gotten cuter over time.
Nick Robinson in this looks like a young Matthew Broderick.
This is basically brave new world
Excited to see this!!
Reminds me of Equals and Equilibrium
NICK NICK NICK 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
It gives similar vibes to The Lobster.
"Simon Takes a Pill"
Is this based on The Effect by Lucy Prebble?
It seems great.
I haven’t seen her since M I high,can’t wait
If D'Arcy Carden is in it... I am there!
Oh Justin Min is also in it... I am doubly there!
Nick Robinson… 😍
Reminds me of Lanthimos’s Lobster
Downtown Griffie Newms!!
Hope they have a scene where he’s rushing down a hall with coffees and then he spills the coffees
Equilibrium with Christian Bale
Is it an adaption of Brave New World?
this is literally the same exact movie as Equals with Kristen Stewart
THEY REALLY JUST BANGED ON THE COUCH IN FRONT OF ALL THE OTHER PATIENTS LIKE THAT?!? 🤨😅
When I saw the trailer I thought this movie looked ridiculously stupid. I only went to see it because I was curious why the critics were so negative and the audience was so positive. THX 1138
My thought as well
The Giver + Equilibrium but without gun-kata?
Maybe Hollywood is running out of ideas. There are actors i like so i will watch it
The giver first thing that came to mind
Would have been a great opportunity to use norha jones' song turn me on
It's we happy few turned into a show
Another one of these movies. Lol. I like him but this movie seems very awkward. Also, so tired of the idea that having feelings and having a boyfriend or by + sex= happy. You can have all that and still be sad or feel empty!!
What a title! 😭
low-key could use a vitamin right about now
Soooo, Equals meets The Giver? I mean, I'll watch it, but it's not an entirely new idea.
so it's Equilibrium
The premise for this sounds borrowed from THE GIVER and EQUALS. Except in those movies, these requirements are forced upon the people living there. Brave New World, basically.
Sooo, Equilibrium without the Fascism?
Is this meant to be a comedy or a parody?
Logan’s Run meets Pleasantville.
With a little bit of “The Giver” (the book anyways, I haven’t seen the movie adaptation)
Nah more like THX 1138
THX?
He’s so cute.

Brave New World meets Equilibrium.
This is literally The Giver
Costume designer: uniqlo.
I do always find this trope funny. It's like straight people want to know how it feels for their love to be forbidden and oppressed.
Isn't this just the Giver and Brave New World??
This is Nick Robinson's "vehicle" _to prove he's not really gay._ [Remember, _Love, Simon_ ?]
Is this supposed to be about antidepressants?
Remake of Equals 🤦♀️
Poor Simon
a sunday movie
Lembra THX 1138
This is just the plot of the Giver, but with sex
Is this a prozac viagra spoof
Its like the giver, but not. Or too many others where medication or society is numbing people. But then again what idea has not been derived. Are there any truly new ideas? Kinda scary.

Smh... Hollywood in collapse.
No thank you 😂
Definitely bi women and men
"The Invention of Sex"
Isn’t this just the giver?
I’m sorry looks boring. 😂
I agree
quick to judge
Didn't they already make this movie with Kirsten Stewart, like ten years ago, "Equals". Boring.
All the blatant allegory and layered subtext makes this look incredibly pretentious...yeah I'll watch it.
Are they aging? Or just the woman?
this isn't love simon
OMG JANET!
