So sad when she said, "So were you".
Great life' lesson
Wow, the film's theme about insecurity is very relatable. We look for evidence to confirm or justify our insecurities and he found a pattern in her past then assigned negative meaning to support his insecurity. He didn't feel like he belonged with her and was insecure but projected his insecurity on her and self sabotaged only to realize his mistake too late. Great film.
Well said! I hadn't thought it through enough. You're spot on
Interesting, I took from it that if you are being fetishized - Does the person really love you or just the thought of you? Are you really an individual to them or just some reaction to combat their upbringing. The girlfriend said as much herself. She didn’t know if her penchant for dating people who didn’t look like her (white) was a reaction to her xenophobic upbringing or not. The ending where she stated that he was also perfect for her showed she truly did love him as an individual and not as a fetishized ideal to prove something to herself by being contrary to her upbringing.
When you keep bringing up the past in a relationship , you change the future of it to null.
you don't get into a relationship with someone who has a past of sleeping with multiple men
The creepy White Lotus music adds to the suspenseful vibe. Great film.
the shock sound effect after "i really fancy an indian." cracked me up. great work!!
I was waiting for the two Indian men to recognize each other too in some way, since the communities often know each other by first or second degrees.
I'm like 2 minutes in and feel so much anxiety already 😂
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Felt every bit of the pain an sadness. Wow! We are our own worst enemy sometimes
This is great..hugs. Shows how our insecurities keep us from so much life.. it’s ok. Compassion. It’s my path to learning to love myself. Thank you great movie
This is why you get everything out of the way before he gets a girl pregnant. Now you have a broken family...
Being attracted to certain features isn't a fetish or racist. How ridiculous.
The way she walked up the stairs, as though there was nothing in her womb.
I also noticed this!
When mans said "but five?" 😂💀
This popped up on my feed and immediately drew me in with the cover. So glad I watched it. Have sent it on to some freinds to watch as well. Fantastic short film, thank you for your work and congrats on it!
I've just come from Big Ears.
I don't think she was fetishising Indian guys, it was more a personal preference.
For him, his worries and insecurities really overtook having a balanced perspective and inevitably jeopardised his relationship.
I wonder if he'd had therapy he could've looked at his emotions and thought processes more objectively and the outcome could've been they were still together.
But I feel empathy for him.
Haven't a lot of people done this? I have.
Been so caught up in a perspective which one fully convinces themselves was right, but it's a perspective which is skewed, dominated by a personal narrative which most likely stemmed from fear and a need to self protect.
Not realising until hindsight, one has made a choice which completely affected the outcome?
💖
Ooft, he was in his own head and now you're in mine 🤣 so many questions and possibilities. That was great, thanks. Worth the wait.
My pediatrician used to call me “beta” and cup my chin in her hand- I know this was not at all about that moment, but it immediately gave me warm feelings. I was at the doctor a lot for respiratory problems as a child and it was always a comfort. I miss her smile. Lovely, lovely job to everyone involved.
Yes, love is warm and easy.
Sending more love your way, dear🫶🏼🦋🌻
Had to look up that word - that’s nice 😊
@@kismetaume, too! It is nice.
@@kismetau Beta means "Child" in literal sense, Indian adults use it to address younger ones so its more like "Dear"
Really good with a great undercurrent of humour that didn't feel 'forced' or 'preachy'. Kudos to you and the cast! 😀
Honestly I get this. I get his insecurities. I married a white man(and im black) and at first it seemed like love but any more, it only seems like I'm a black girl fetish to him. Why? you ask. Because the girls he cheated on me with are black girls.
Being attracted to certain features doesn’t have to be about racism. Insecurities and being reductive can lead a person to project it as racism though. Your ex’s biggest issue is cheating-he just happens to like black women. Assuming you’re hetero, you like men, does that make you homophobic?
Why do you let him cheat more than once?! next! You deserve a nice faithful man
I love the Indian Mother in Law😅jokes
Good work! I want more of this story.
You have to believe in the love you have. My brother and sister in law have been married for 48 years. Black and white. The choices are more in the friends who stay and those who don't, how and where you raise your kids etc.
there were likely each others first
Brilliant actors.
That was brilliant, I love it.
Loved this. Congratulations to you and the entire team!
SAMMMMMMMM! Such a great film! Amit is ALWAYS superb! Bravo & congrats and all that schtuff!
Such a good work
❤ good work! Love it
She has a type, so what if it's different races especially Indian? She clearly didn't get around to the bruthas. Tall, dark and handsome! Really funny and well done.
so good. loved the music.
It's a beautiful short film. ❤ Loved it. ❤
Incredibly profound and poignant. ❤
As we saw in the classic Spike Lee joint “Jungle Fever”, racial fetishes are REAL, y’all. The key question here is: “Is the relationship based on love (which is deep) or based on the fetish (which is shallow).”
A racial fetish feels very different than an interracial relationship that is based on love, admiration, honesty & respect (especially when it involves women of colour👈🏽).
I will say this was an honest movie🎥 but I didn’t buy that she loved the Caucasian guy at the end (a Black guy would have been a nice addition to the story, just saying🤷🏽♀️) But IMO this couple did the right thing by breaking up…I believe she did fetishize him and that would have forever plagued him.❤️🩹
I agreed. It's liked she picked a white man after him to convince herself more than anyone else. Her discomfort at the end spoke volumes.
Just saw this and enjoyed it greatly at the Cambria Film Festival.
Once again, great acting!
Really, really good.
Love is in the air😂.
Nice work, Sam.
Amit AND Gwilym.... joy joy joy !
What a great piece of art 🙏❤️✌️
Brilliant film.
Great work 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎉🎉🎉
WOW! WHAT A MOVIE...GREAT PERFORMANCE AND DELIVERY OF TRUEST OF TRUTH, UN-PORTRAYED, EVERYDAY HAPPENING AROUND THE WORLD...LOTS OF RACISM SEEN FROM AN INDIAN PERSPECTIVE...IT WAS WEIRD TO SEE... SOOOO, MUCH TIME WAS WASTED AND FOREVER LOST FROM RACISM; FROM WHOMEVER THE PERSPECTIVE IS FROM !!! AGAIN, WOW!
It makes me remember Big Ears.
Great film
Beautiful
Great story but really heartbreaking.
The same thing happened to me, I dated someone who don’t date men of her race, I was also feeling insecure, especially when I notice some of the men were very ugly.
Has a white girl im attracted to men that don’t remind me of my father or brother 😂😂😂
OMG ITS THE GUY FROM CRASHING !!!
Funny background music!
I think it's northern Canadian (Inuit) throat singing.
Well, didn, t see this coming...😅
I HAVE BEEN WAITING… NOT VERY PATIENTLY FOR THIS
That baby doesn’t really look like it belongs to either of them. Just sayin.
Brilliant in every way
Is nobody talking about Gwilym Lee??! ❤
bloody awesome cameo, blown away
She's right. It's good to mix up the genes.
less genetical problems!
ouchhh!but it is ok.this is the best lesson for him on how to deal with insecurities if happen again in future.
Omg I haven't seen him since Crashing!!
Really, where have you been? 😊
The gun scene seem very significant, but I am not sure why?
« Bang…bang. »
Oh wow, this is out of world insecurity. She's pregnant n he is stressing her out really
The Indian actor played a gay dude in a tv series with Jonathan Bailey.
It made me think of Get Out.
Sitcom plse! Loved it ❤
Whats wrong with liking forigners???? Their sooo attractive like
Ahh... so complex. I can relate in a lot of ways.
Sad. Hopefully that fear of being fetishized isn’t too widespread in real life. If you’re true to yourself, you should have an easy enough time falling in love with a real one and knowing where they’re actually coming from.
lol where is the dark part? Who is dark in This great film?
Really? Just say what you mean Mr Wilson.
🙋🏿
Next time don't think of getting a woman pregnant if you are not yet mature enough to overcome past relationships.
one or two is ok...5 naaah! he took a good decision...dont feel guilty my friend! You will find one..oh anyway I am completely into the story/film..which means its a good presentation! Congratulations!
Ummm, son don't you think it's a bit late after 5 months pregnant.
Baby is at stake now 🐥🍼
Who is pregnant and highly emotional ?😶
Good film. Now, is he triggered by Indian exes, or that she has more exes than him? As in 8 more ...
Positive racial profiling 😅
I don't believe her. She will break up with the new guy. She is just trying to make the point that she was right.
Same here…but that said, I don’t think she has an Indian fetish. Just a promiscuous floozy who would get with any man of any race, shape or size.
Its a huge mistake to share one's past, especially for women.
I don’t see the issue here. I’m black and if I liked white culture and only wanted to date white what’s wrong wit that as long as I’m not shaming or downplaying black women. So what?! I hate how majority of black ppl love so it’s not my preference. So what?!
Found a comment that says what I felt but couldn't find words. I've met attractive men with my colouring, just not attractive to me. Lovely guys though. Maybe it's variety for gene pool?
She got a simp to raise her kid. 🤣🤣 poor guy.
Did he ruin a perfectly great relationship and Future family due to a hang up in his subconscious of being inferior because of a race?
Not sure where you picked up an inferiority complex. Rather it was about his not wanting to be fetishised as a person of colour by someone pale looking for exoticism
Sounds like it
It was her fetishizing issue that was being examined.
what was it ? Anyone! what why ?
my take was that he let this idea in his head start to cloud his relationship to its ruin. fairly quickly based on how young their child was at the end.
Very random movie, good but not good enough
Oh man, I felt this as a person of color who always had this conundrum dating white folks.
Girls need to be open about their previous relationship if you might run into them with the NEW PARTNER?
But not the guys…
They don’t run into their exes…
Because after the relationship they toss their exes to the mars… 😅😂😂 or venus 🤣🤣
Tall and dark for sure - but handsome??? 😂😂😂 As a white woman who dated ethnically different men I will say: horrible idea!
As another woman, I say you sound racist as fuck. Fine to date just white men but don’t shit on other races.
wdym?
But just maybe she went with a white guy to avoid the cultural conflicts?
1. avoid marrying a single mother
2. typical western women have high body count, marry only in your culture - figure her past. body count is a determining factor of happiness in marriage
