Thanks a lot, Chris. He yeah, and this was even one of the good days with a little brak from the pouring rain :-) I prefer snow. The Finnish Genes I suppose :-)
Thanks a lot Jeremy! Yeah, real smooth sounding compared to the A959. Better quality of gears I think. And so much torque with that 550. Would love to try it out off road, but everything is mud right now, and alas, I don’t have time for several hours of cleaning cars right now. Hopefully the frost will kick in for real soon 😊
Nice video my friend, looks like you had some fun testing on the wet and slippery tarmac. The new buggy looks like a serious bit of kit with a great turn of speed. And it looks so cool too, with those beefy alloy shocks, the black disc wheels and the Tamiya(ish!) wing! :))
Thank you, Mark. Yeah, I like this one. Wish the body had more personality but it’s nice to get an old-style Tamiya’ish wing. Breaks easily but well ... durability isn’t everything 🙂
Hey Mikael! Nice video and cool run with the 144001. I really like the little car. In my opinion there's just one "best" 1/14 beast out there. The Losi Mini 8ight. But its price is also more than 3 times higher. That's massive for such a tiny car. The 144001 would be great for an brushless upgrade :) Have a fantastic weekend my friend 👍
Hi Charlie, and thanks a lot, my good friend. Yeah, a good size these 1/14, and the Losi Mini 8ight is a real legend. Would love to try that one out. Wish the WLToys had the plastic chassis and towers like that one too, but I guess bling bling sells 😅 But yes, in a totally other price range. But for the ‘under 100$’ this 144001 is a great choice if one wants to try a budget budget budget 1/14 buggy. Just for the fun, or beginners, or if one wants to try taking it around a track ... suspension and dampening seems good, and adjustable turn buckles, so I bet one could get just the feeling of whether investing more money into a real 1/14 race buggy could be a good idea. Hope you are enjoying the weekend too, my friend.
Have all 3 cars as you. The 144001 is the better handling in top speeds and overall has better built quality. The 959-b has clearly more top speed but it is uncontrolable when reaching it! Only the controller of the 144001 feels cheaper to me than the one of the 959.
Yeah, I agree. Much better handling/control than the A959-B. I actually like the small transmitter a tiny bit more. No buttons for the steering trim, and no throttle trim (useless on a RTR factory electronic set up) and a great throttle dual rate (great for beginners ...). And a durable built-in-antenna. Wish the steering wheel was a little bigger in diameter though.
Can't wait to get mine for Christmas 😁 think Wltoys are getting better, it's so Good, 😁 nice comparison 👍 great speed Runs, think am getting the Red 1 😁 fantastic video again my friend 👍😎👍
Nice! You're getting one. Cool. Yeah, both HBX and WLToys just seems to get ebtter and better for every year. This certainly is looking good. Thanks a lot for tuning in, Tony.
Thanks to you for showing! In my humble opinion the proper comparison would have been with the A959B, same motor, but I guess in this case as for keeping control there would have been no match. The point I'm interested in is about offroading; speed alone isn't everything, but suspensions, ground clearance, balance and speedy servo in the new toy make me guess it may be a lot satisfying in that environment. Probably (and sadly in certain ways) much more than the A959 series... What do you think?
I think the exactely same as you my friend. But it’s nice to test it out on road for the first run, checking the speed, and if the drive line and all operates good. Problem with off road right now is that I do not have easy access where I live (other than grass) and that everything is mud right now, and it will be hard to find time to clean cars for hours and hours right now. Hoping for some real frost soon so the mud will harden. And yes, the 550 motor will really be interesting off road. On road it doesn’t matter too much, 540 or 550. And you are right, speed wise and motor size wise, the A959-B is a better comparison, but I am getting a little tired running the B-versions. So for control, run time and the enjoyable side of RC’s these two are a better comparison I think ☺️ Looking forward for the off road test when the mud clears up a bit 😀
Hi thanks for another great video! I just bought an A959b and felt that the ride is too low for my liking. Are you able to see if we can fix the 144001 shocks and springs on A959B? If can, i will order the 144001 parts right away. Thank you!
Hi bro. The 144001 is much bigger (1/14 vs 1/18) so a quick guess is that the shocks are too long. Maybe just go with bigger tires for the A959? Like the A979. That will raise the ground clearence.
I put a brushless setup in min with esc and transmitter kit ...well the guy at the hobby shop did it for me..charged me like 30 bucks....but my 144001 did 51mph after the upgrade..it was 33 stock......only down part is controlling it and keep it down for the size..so i drilled 2 small holes in the wing and tow small holes on each side of body....it is a freaking monster...and fast than my traxxas slash..(for now any ways).😂😂
Hey. Great video!.. btw can you compare the a959 to HBX Ratchet please. Size wise, wheelbase, electronics, driving experiance etc. I cant find that kinda comparison elsewhere online, despite it having the same motor size and scale size. Thanks ya.
Hi Kari! Sounds like a very good idea. I have something similar in mind, but I will see if I can fit the Ratchet in too. It’s a very small buggy compared to the A959 - at least when it comes to width and wheel/tire size.
Not sure anybody won :-) Just putting them side by side, versus one another, and the one who is watching can decide which one would be best for him/her :-)
No, it's pretty much in that ball park. Check my other speed runs and other honest and reliable RC channels. Everybody get around 40 kph for the A959 and 50 kph for the 144001
I have both and they are garbage. I will never buy anything from Wltoys ever again. the A959 servo lasted a month. The 144001 radio cuts out after 50 feet. Total garbage. New batteries and a fully charged RC battery on both. Live and lean . No more Wltoys for me.
Wow that is speedy for a little one! Love all the dramatic music. Great comparison video Mikael :-)
Yeah, plenty of speed :-) Thanks a lot, Pete. You know I enjoy having fun editing :-)
This 144001 is a very nice looking Wltoys!! Nice video man!
Yeah, so far I'm loving it :-) Would have preferred some plastic shock towers and chassis, but otherwise it is looking very promising.
And thanks a lot, my good friend!
So many to choose from! But this one (144001) seems real bad ass!
Yeah! In my humble opinion it’s good value for the money
Nice speed comparison between them bro☺️ Got to love the rainy or in my case snowy weather... :(
Thanks a lot, Chris. He yeah, and this was even one of the good days with a little brak from the pouring rain :-) I prefer snow. The Finnish Genes I suppose :-)
Nice comparison Mikael! That 144001 sounds real smooth! Nice job my friend!👍😊

@@NordicRC
agreed on everything you wrote! So let's do the "dance of the frost" 😉
Yeah 😅 Dance of the frost 😅
How to match wltoys 144001 and 540 27t engine.? performance speed traction.?
Think the 550 is good enough, Just needs some throttle control :-)
@@NordicRC I'm very curious about this test. 540 motor 27t worth trying.
What rc cars do you recommend for under 100$?
These 🙂
Always love my A959 B👍🏻 I find that rear wing makes it worse for speed runs ,just have a A959 wing and no problems 👍🏻
The 144001 wing? Yeah, it might push the rear to much to the ground, raising the front,
Nordic RC Visions you got it bro 👍🏻

Nordic RC Visions Noted thanks for the advice! :)
Good match-up. pretty quick. =)
Thanks, bro. Yeah, both of them plenty of speed and fun for their size :-) Thanks again for watching and the support, my friend.

Uhh, sounds like a fast 144001 for sure! Nice set up.
Great speed test
Thank you, Duke!

SUPER car 👌🤜🤛🔝
Yeah, cool little buggies!
Are the gears metal? If they are im totally gonna get one.
I do not expect the spur gear to be metal.
@@NordicRC Are the diffs?
@@aydinlutmergp4885 Yes, according to the specifications they are
@@NordicRC Awesome! Thanks for the help.
No problem, bro.
Did the 1/18 have the 540 in it and I swear they both are supposed to go faster then those speeds and did you waterproof both cars electronics?
He he, Brad, I think you aught to do some research on these models before starting to swear 😅😉
@@NordicRC I say that because wltoys doesn't put waterproof electronics in over 90 present of there cars if at all.
These look like they'd be fun.
Scandinavia eh? I don't suppose you have Agnetha Falskogs phone number by any chance?
Yeah, fun little ones! Ahh, I don’t even know who that is 😅

Ahh, I see. Probably grey-haired by now 😅
Sweden?
Denmark 😍
Can it use pin lipo 3s?
Not specified for it officially but I have seen other people do it ☺️
Who won
Not sure anybody won :-) Just putting them side by side, versus one another, and the one who is watching can decide which one would be best for him/her :-)

Thanks, my friend !
Wow
:-)
The a959b is the best
It's the fastest for sure :-)

We'll get u a hobby grade rc like arrma losi Traxxas so on. U get what u paid for 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i have both too..for me,wltoys are great rc budget..cheap spareparts.running stock with 3s lipo without any problem...
Garbage is an extreme word. I would love more WLToys :-) So far, for the price, they have provided me with a ton of fun :-)
I love 'em too. And so fast I don't even need a 3S in them :-)
