    How To Install Race Tech Fork Kit , suspension upgrade on My 2018 Honda CRF250L Rally
    Well this video wasn't what i was hoping for, i had some technical difficulties and i almost didn't upload it. i tried to salvage what i could to make a half decent install video for you guys. hopefully this video helps. In this video I install the Race tech fork spring upgrade kit on my 2018 CRF250L Rally. At the end of the video i give my initial thoughts on it's performance. Keep in mind this video is meant for entertainment purposes and is based completely on my opinion.

      Hmm that’s weird, I wonder what the spring was for? I bet it feels worlds better with oil now huh? Haha

  • @RustyVanDoor

    It’s hard to believe that Honda produce a popular bike with suspension made or rubber bands, the rear was sooooo soft it only stopped when the chain was tight. Fitted a complete YSS shock to the rear and it already feels better, the front is super soft so will do that in the near future.

    Thanks again for video!! Why do you need to loosen the top bolt to undo the fork cap? Shouldnt you keep both bolts tight to create resistance?

    • @StagAdv
      @StagAdv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! The top fork clamps actually pinch the fork tube a bit and prevent the cap from coming off, so taking the top fork bolts just makes taking the cap off easier. 🍻

    nice content and easy to understand. Why do you have to change your fork and why do you choose race tech? Thouygh my fork is till good, but I m planning to change it but i m still confuse which brand to choose, as there are many in the market, YSS, Hyper Pro, Ohlin etc?

    Are you sure the front axle is a 17mm, my 250 L is a 14 mm bought the Tusk multi axle tool and found out it won't fit...smarter everyday. And seen you vid on the rear shock good info to have as the suspension is way to soft. Ohlins shock would be nice but pricey good to see a cheaper alternative. Oh nice hat too....Accurate, deadly, dependable

    • @StagAdv

    Is it any more harsh offroad then stock now with both ends done, like you feel more terrain through handlebars and seat, or is it more plush/comfortable then stock? I have 1st gen bike and get near correct sag with stock adjustment,but what bothers me most is that I feel like bumps on the road and offroad as little jolts on the handlebar and seat, suspension not completely absorbing the terrain. Wondering if I'd benefit from the upgrade at all or it would be even more harsh...

    • @StagAdv
      @StagAdv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply. I found it better off road but my conditions aren’t quite the same as most riders. I mainly ride in sugar sand so as far as it handles in Rocky terrain I couldn’t say for sure. I do know that after the upgrade if you find it too harsh a thinner oil can help and if you find you want it a little more stiff, the kit comes with extra spacers. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Thanks!

    When reinstalling the fork, is there any concern about how to get it lined up perfectly. I worry that I won't get it perfectly lined up and will make the wheel alignment be funky. I am surprised that there isn't some groove that you set the fork into to ensure that it is positioned correctly. Or maybe it just isn't as sensitive as I imagine it. Thanks for any advice. I will be tackling this upgrade in a couple of weeks.

    • @StagAdv
      @StagAdv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I just looked at the amount of fork tube sticking up from the clamps before removal and then tried to line the back up the best I can to match after install. I wouldn’t worry too much about it being a little off on a bike this this. It’s a great upgrade you’ll love it! Good luck!

It’s awesome off road and very well mannered on the street. It’s not at all too harsh for street riding. To me it feels more stable and less flighty both on and off road.
