Kev, once you've mixed it and kneaded it, put it in a lightly oiled bowl and let it proof for a couple of hours. Will be miles better Bought a gas fired Ooni oven last year. Game changer!!! The pizzas from that are amazing. Making your own dough is a science in itself mate. I've done it exactly the same numerous times buy sometimes comes out different due to temperature I always push the dough out rather than roll. Beer dough is great to actually make. Use a lighter beer than Hobgoblin though.....pale ale or a lager 400 grams strong bread flour 100 grams plain (all-purpose) flour 330 millilitres beer/ lager (room temperature) 3.5g instant-dry yeast (usually sold in 7g packets, so if you don’t have micro scales simply half the packet) 15g fine sea salt
Hi chap, wow, that looks like great advice & yes, Sadie said it'd be better to make my own dough - I'll use your recipe. Don't those Ooonies use a lot of gas?
We love our ooni Karu. It’s wood/charcoal/gas fuelled. Brilliant bit of kit. Check our 3 ingredient challenge video 😂 - th-cam.com/video/mOAmb3JO1u0/w-d-xo.html
Its not too bad I have one of those small green gas bottles. Through the summer I usually use it once a week either for the bbq or the ooni Was new at start of summer and still half full
Good choice of beer for the chef 👍. A tip on the pizza stone, don’t wash it as they are porous - get a wire brush to get rid of solids and next time you cook a pizza just use the opposite side and it’ll ‘clean’ itself. We’ve used the pre-made pizza express pizza dough and got some good results from it. I’d still recommend making your own dough and freeze the balls you don’t use after the first rise. Loving the idea of the staycation and saving the pennies. Thanks for sharing. Andy and Kim.
Yes I thought so about the stone, but the instructions don't say anything about caring for it. Gavlos (above) has given us a recipe for the dough, so may try that. Yeah, lovely & cosy in the 'van, although eating up the gas bottles at £35 each! And no, we use Safefill as they won't fit in the gas locker.

Not a fan of the Cadac, but some people seem to love them. Would be interested to see how you get on with it. Merry Christmas
Ha, no, us neither, however we will commit & see if it converts us! Will probs vlog it. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you both too! 🙃
