Between McGrath and carpinteria there is the Ventura county beach camping. Emma wood, Rincon, faria and Hobson campgrounds. All of them, feet from the water. Faria and Hobson have some hookup sites.

You are one of if not the greatest resources for Cali camping: my favorite beach camp is #6 @ wrights beach...I may have missed it but Kirby Cove campground and Ocean cove campground are some coastal gems

Hi Michael, November and December are easier to get campsites at most of these campgrounds (if open). Weekend and holidays still are usually sold out - at least for the Southern California Campgrounds. Weekends also tend to be busy in SoCal, but not usually sold out.

FYI currently San Diego parks aren’t accepting reservations at all. This even includes for one year from now. I’m not sure if someone will update when it opens again

Hi Michael, Yes, it appears everything is closed and on hold until the State of California decides all is clear with the pandemic. I doubt the campgrounds will remain closed past April.
