    I feel like this describes more of "what ESP does" than "how ESP works"

    Thanks for the upload. However, I was disappointed by the video, since it's just a an advertisement for ESP, instead of an explanatory video, showing how ESP actually works, what it's limits, pros and cons are, in what ways new and old generations of it differ, how differently an ESP can be set up (later and/or more subtle intervention vs. more conservative setup, etc.) and so forth.

    ESP is kind of a fun killer. Just when you notice your rear end on your Grand Cherokee finally sliding, this shit kicks in.

      +Ritchie Tuyau Well, when I push the ESP BUTTON appears ⚠
      so how can I enable it?
      shoud it appears on board computer that ESP button is enabled ?

    • @vinaykumarmalviya
      @vinaykumarmalviya 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hsn Aml According to FMVSS standard --> Cars equipped with ESP system should be available after ignition on. It means as soon as the car ignition is turned ON, ESP system should be enable. Apart from it usually if we press the ESP button then depending upon the different stages different system within the vehicle will be disable. Usually in Audi vehicle if we press it for short time TCS will be switched off and for longer time complete ESP will be switched off. It will be displayed on the dash board with text display and ESP lamp.

    • @batuhangenc7469
      @batuhangenc7469 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OnlineMediaCollection The ESP button will disable the system. Almost every modern car comes with ESP abilities, and to prevent accidents, the system is active by default. The button would deactivate the ESP system if needed.
      Some cars warn you if you deactivate traction control, on information screen, you should see something like : Traction Control Disabled. Do this while you are stationary, so that you can self-assure yourself.

    • @OnlineMediaCollection

      The day a car has 4 brake pedals, one for each wheel, then you can achieve the same ammount of control ESP provides :D

    • @dh66
      @dh66 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Terence Walker I'm old school when it comes to building cars. (restored a few) and I drive a 440HP car and a 600ft-lb TQ truck with limited slip diffs, lockers and an e-locker. None of that compares to a CHEAP Bosch ESP system, even at rock crawling speeds. If ESP stops one moron from sliding into MY precious metal, its worth it.

    • @Vivek-zw3ex
      @Vivek-zw3ex 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The same could be said for seat belts, airbags, you name it. The point of this is to provide for insurance against *unexpected* hazards. The other day when a moronic traveling in the opposite direction suddenly jumped out into my lane to pass a vehicle, I swerved to avoid and ESC was there to help .
      I've never used the ABS on my car because I know how to brake effectively, but I'm glad that it's there to catch my back when something unexpected happens. These safety systems aren't a substitute for good driving skills, they're a valuable supplement.
