Hi, I just ordered MX07 couple days ago. Any tips or any parts I should check before I run it? Like diff oil, shock oil, screws & nuts etc. Based on my experience, brand new cars often lacks oil in their diffs & shocks etc, and many of the screw & nuts must be loctited before use. Any tips?
Btw, did you know what factory oil (cst/wt) ZD put in their diffs & shocks? I’d like to match the viscosity ZD put in this car. Also, do you feel factory oil weight in their diffs & shocks are correct or I should put heavier / thinner oil? Thanks
Hey :) nice purchase! Congrats 👍 I rebuilt the diffs when i got the car but i have to say it they were really well put together! I did change to running 100k in the rear 200k in the front to suit my driving style - i earplugged the centre diff but very rapidly un-earplugged it because I couldnt keep the front wheels down - Im running 3 mil in the centre now. I took out any metal to metal chassis screws and gave them some loctite but overall the QC was high - id recommend checking + loctiting the grub screws connecting the split drive shaft in the rear as mine came loose. Also definitly drywall tape and e6000 the body heavily to protect it. I stripped 2 wheel hex's running on 8s in very hot conditions - you can get replacement hubs very cheaply on ali express ill link below. 6s this thing is a beast - on 8s its a mad man 😂 also speaking of mad men - i never touched my shock oils but if you want to go deeper into the car check the advice in this video th-cam.com/video/WXj3arskoUM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dktcDIQowFR8CM5W

@@HEAT_RC Hi, thanks a lot. A very detailed explanation from you. About the stripped wheel hex, is it because you forgot to put loctite in it? Not tightening it tight enough? Or maybe because the hex material quality aren’t good enough ? I stripped many many wheel hex before, some because I didn’t tighten it tight enough, some because the hex quality aren’t good.
About the purchase, yes it’s an easy decision really. Comparing it to another 1/7 or 1/8 monters truck, I think MX07 are miles ahead in many aspects. I wonder why everyone often compare it to 1/5 rc rather than to other many 1/7 or 1/8 brands
@albericmiftah hey your very welcome. think it was partially my ignorance/neglidgence when i first got the car - not tightening or checking the hex's enough and also running in extreme heat making the plastics hot (its 42°C here daily in summer) i have stripped many hexs too on different cars 😆

Hey thanks for your comment! 😊Well its good timing because the big rock is out - and these are both 7th scale - the body on a big rock is definitely stronger - but this has 7075 chassis, thinker arms bigger shocks 7075 shock towers. The price is probabably the same. Out of the box this is a big rock exb 😊
