with gen2 repairability, they just need to introduce "firmware pack" which install additional firmware that allows display/sensor swap. most usecase will be fine with LCD but kiosk terminals imo is better with OLED for readability
How will it fair against the CMF phone. I know it’s different and the CMF isn’t repairable. But many will see the add ons and the better screen and SOC as a more tempting option that cheaper.
I hope HMD has a samsung software, firmware styled, and just camera and tons of storage looking that bulky, plus, making it a dummy phone with only maps, phone, camera, gmail, youtube, you can distable it, no google, or games, just a pure thing for music, i want something modular but i rather want something i can have for self disipline. basically what steve job wanted for his kids, to keep away from phones but still need it for the conveniant stuff, making it an underage phone so no p*rn at all, no gore, nothing scary, just a safe phone for kids aswell! i hope they can do this if so i'm selling my samsung z5 flip for that.
maybe you can get a used android phone supported by lineageos, and install the custom rom without playstore support. I'm using a poco f3 myself and it performs great. or ask a fsmily member to password lock all those apps for you. there's a lot of options to chose from before resorting to buying a brand new niche device.
no porn can be achieved with vpn or dns. i personally use adguard dns to block ads but it also has DNS for family friendly filtering. of you're on lineageos, take a look at "multiple users". I'm pretty sure the extra profiles can be feature-limited in various ways.
@@Darkshadoz only costs money if your current phone doesn't support those features, and doesn't have someone maintaining a 3rd party rom like lineageos for it.
The SoC in this is the weakness. Low powered SD4 gen 2 processor. Should have gone with a previous flagship one or even a custom that is competitive at this price range. The screen is okay at 720p, it dont matter a whole lot but id want to see a return to 16x9 because it is still the standard in video playback and in a lot of games it just looks neater. Love the custimizability but again, the SoC just isnt competitive at the price range.
Or better make motherboard interchangeable like a true modular phone so we can buy different CPU and memory and apply adeguate firmware, ye I'm dreaming 😢😢
It will fail for sure because the lack of updates and the phone's basic spes - already too slow for gaming, bad camera etc. No promise that future phones will support the mod. The Moto Z phones where more premium, updates were bad but Motorola committed for 3 generations of existing mod support so ideally if someone bought mods at year one could make use of it for 6-9 years (2-3 years per phone generation). Moto Z came with Android 6, the Z4 stopped on Android 10 (plus 1 more year of security updates) but if the project were successful it would have had better specs and update support (at least 2 major updates like the Z1 and Z2). The Z phones still failed after 2 years of proper advertising,midrange/flagship phones and a good selection of mods.
@@detox24-n6i I bought a Nokia 7.1 back in 2019 and it was decent but then the charging port broke within the first month. The phone would also hang all the time eve on moderate work loads. Sold it after a few months and bought a galaxy s10e that I'm sti using today after 5 years.

Can you review the camera features also the loudspeakers for sound test quality
I will try and get a review sample to do just that.

It is 5G and the Hotspot is working well?
the device is fully 5G compatible, at least for European networks. Don't know about US. Hotspot included.

it doesn't matter how it looks but if the mic cancels background noise, if the speakers are loud, etc. So i will search for another video.
I'll try and get a review unit to find out. Sorry, I was in a hurry and at a trade show. Hard to do thorough testing in that environment ;)

200 for the phone and 200 for the accessories? hahahaa
I was wondering about that as well. Let's just hope the addon prices drop FAST.
