Aye, it takes some getting used to but once you are on it, you never leave it. Peoples watch me accessing my apps so fast with wonder on their tiny little minds lol😊
Well UncleSpurt, like you i spent many a fiddling hour with Nova, and then discovered Niagara, fell into her and have never left. Errm that didn't come out right in writing. I better drink that pint and forget that I wrote this...
I've never understood people complaining about apps cluttering up their homescreens. Don't they know your can remove them? You can even go into the settings and select "don't add new apps to the homescreen". You don't need a launcher to have a clutter free homescreen. That's why app draws exist. Surely it's quickest to swipe up than to do funky scrolling gestures that take longer too get apps you want
Nova is actually one man team now, been looking for replacement for while now but haven't find anything reliable with similar shortcuts and folders. Sad that they let the dev team go, been using it for over a decade now.
It's a shame Nothing don't release their Nothing OS launcher as a standalone product because it's pretty good. Nice and zippy, with lots of widgets, monochrome support and app folders that can have customised icons and be various different shapes and sizes. It's definitely my favourite OEM launcher.
I've been using Nova Launcher Prime since at least 2013, and bought Nova Prime in December 2015 at the very reasonable price of INR 10 (that's US$ 0.12 lol). Tried to find a replacement sometimes, but the way I've customized it carries over so seamlessly to every one of my new devices that I've never felt I HAD to switch. Love Nova to bits, best 10 Rupees I ever spent tbh.
I'm a Total Launcher guy. If I were to guess, right now I probably take advantage of about a tenth of its features, but I do have some customizations, and it's kind of incredible all the functionality you can cram into the interface.
My preferred launcher is Total Launcher, which is excellent for tablets. It's particularly great if you enjoy displaying your wallpapers with different gestures and unique clicks for opening apps or an app drawer window, which is also resizable for tablet use. It's just boring to use phone launchers on a such big screen, with all spaced out 5x5 icons on the entire screen.
Do any of the launchers change the app background from light to dark as it is on iOS 18? Its the one of the few things I really like and hope its on Android given how praised it is for being customisable.
My favorite launcher so far is the AIO launcher. Feels like minimalist and maximalist at the same time. You can just just what you want, where you want. Doesn't feel like a classic launcher, but I like it so much
Uncle Spurt how do you keep up with watching all these anime shows ?! just curious lol.. I love anime myself but can't seem to watch a full show with like every episode, I get through 1 and then kids prevent me going back to them so I just forget, literally only one I've got all way through was last samurai on Netflix lol what's your secret to a full anime binge all the time ? Ps love that dandadan wallpaper you have found, it's now on my phone lol not seen or heard of it before but just watched the trailer and I think I might have a crack at trying to watch it all lol
Ahhhh launchers. I remember spending hours if not days trying to get the perfect setup. Eventually I just started using the default launcher because getting the “perfect” setup was such a pipe dream. I switched to iOS a few years ago and though I miss the customization, I appreciate the simplicity nowadays. And RIP to the Evie Launcher - I hope the dev teams socks are always slightly damp.
@@Jedbullet29 Yeah really. Was an Apple hater since day 1 but realized I had never really given it an honest chance. Went from the Pixel 3 XL to the iPhone 11 out of curiosity and the switch wasn’t as difficult as it was made out to be. The apps I need/use on a daily basis just work better for me on iOS. Sure iOS can be boring, but it’s consistent. Sometimes I’ll scoop up a Pixel or Galaxy on sale just to get a taste though. Nowadays I daily my 15PM after gifting my Mom my Pixel 7 Pro. @@thetravelingdad I’m saying it with my chest bro. I had scooped up an S21 to try out and went to redownload Evie as it was my FAVORITE launcher. I hope every soda the Evie Launchers dev team tries to drink is flat.
I don't know, never used an independentl launcher. If I use one on top of up to date Samsung One UI, (1) what would I gain and (2) what are the chances I would f**k up my phone? Are they like Linux and really for enthusiasts only?
Unky Spurt, I don't want another thing added to my phone for things it already does. What do you recommend to get rid of the bloatware that comes on a new phone, that idiots like me cannot delete
I loved Nova for years. But since the APIs for animations support has been broken on Samsung since One UI 6, I've resorted back to my boring stock launcher. I'm hoping we will see the fix on One UI 7 to allowed animation support for 3rd party launchers

I wondered if anyone could get a widget to work with any phone which is the clock widget from tsf shell or cm launcher 3d would really like to use this as a stand alone widget.
Niagara still reigns supreme imo. One of the only few apps that I ever paid for to get the full version.
Agreed. Nothing comes close.

I wish Nova Launcher could be used in Fold 6 like One UI (two different home screens for cover and inner).
There's ONLY one worth considering : Nova. It has it all. It works. It has cloud sync. Great piece of SW.
Square Home & Total launcher are my favorites
