    Good job installing the cement board but you should have used a moisture barrier. Although, maybe the deck flashing will divert the water away from the lower wall. Great caulking/sealant will have to be used at all terminations. Good video though.

    • @joncourter4048
      @joncourter4048 ปีที่แล้ว

      This method would not working in the Pacific Northwest! A moisture barrier with a min of 1/2" air space between the cement board would be best.

    Should there not be tyvek or some other house wrap installed prior to the cement board?
    The cement board is not waterproof itself, just water resistant. Just curious.
    Thanks

    • @pikubird
      @pikubird ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Definitely a water/weather proof wrap and also a rainscreen mat of some sort before adding a cement board or stucco. This will start rotting in the first condensation, never mind the rain that will ge the plywood soaked

    In The Bahamas We usually covered the Plywood with Felt or Ice and Water shield, before putting up the cement board aka DuRocks

    • @DL101ca
      @DL101ca 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is exterior grade plywood, meant to be used like that and water resistant. Obviously if you want you could use a covering if you want but it won't make much difference.

    In yr opinion what is the best method to cut cement boards fast and quick pls??

    • @MichaelWilson-ib9ns
      @MichaelWilson-ib9ns 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a knife and snap it. If I have holes I use a chisel around the circle then clean it with knife. Most of it will have Styrofoam beads to aid in cutting.

    • @1kbconstruction824
      @1kbconstruction824  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say a angle grinder , are a circular saw with a good blade

    So what about using a circular saw to cut them when u need to cut long pieces ???

    • @kingscooby4191
      @kingscooby4191 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea any circular saw will do to cut cement board, he used the small one because it’s was more convenient for that small electrical cut out.

    • @1kbconstruction824
      @1kbconstruction824  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was using it before it wasn't working well for me, Or maybe I need a better blade in my circlar saw

    • @DL101ca
      @DL101ca 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use a diamond dry blade ,it will work fine for concrete board. Usually these are a score and snap type of product. For more intricate cuts, a hand grinder and diamond blade will work just fine.
