The thing is UCL format is anyways going to change from next season and it's gonna be similar to this. Also, clubs like PSG Man City anyways spend whatever amount they want every single window. So, how things are legitimate now?

UEFA allowed foreign investors to abuse financial regulations in the PL and now both parties are complaining because a Super League run by clubs individually would hurt their pockets. Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle and even less succesfull clubs like Villa, Everton and Wolves all received substantial money injections. Take those investments away and the league quality would drop massively. If its anyone to blame, we can point our fingers to UEFA and the Premier League who only increased foreign presence over the years. The Super League is a response to the ridiculous way, the PL is run which causes clubs outside of the top 6 to see financial growth. For historical clubs like Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus its a matter of staying competitive against unlimited funds (Chelsea, Man City, almost United, PSG, Newcastle etc). The Super League although being very unfair to the smaller clubs, would destroy the advantage of oil clubs since UEFA only hands out a small percentage of their revenue in the UCL but the ESL would give way more than that, equaling the playing field between these clubs

You seem to like the format, but the reasons you argument against the Super League include: a. The league’s names (surely they can change that), b. The amount of clubs (new Champions League format has more), c. Club’s placement (it will probably start considering sporting accolades, as it should since “we have earned it on the pitch”), d. Big matchups every week (you reference a Manchester City vs Luton, who’s annual revenue is almost ten times larger than Sporting Braga’s for example; you’ll still be able to watch that game in the Premier League, but not a Real Madrid vs Sporting Braga that ended 5-1), e. The control of power and money hungry dinosaurs in suits (not like 76 year old Kroenke, 50 year old Boehly, 73 year old Khan, 74 year old Henry, thousands years old Glazer’s, Saudi royalties or Qatari royalties, right? All colluded with ECA under the command of Al-Khelaifi and Gil Marin, both investigated for corruption along with their counterparts in UEFA and FIFA), f. Number of games (new Champions League format has also increased the number of games and you’re not complaining). You also argue that the reasons behind the creation of the Super League are centered around greed (the supporter of a club owned by an American billionaire; the hypocrisy) and to establish a monopoly (the Super League just won a case against a monopoly, genius). To conclude, you’re right: football it’s about money but for the club owners and not all clubs have an owner. The Premier League has created the most profitable football competition in the world by selling most of their teams to foreign investors (English football is no longer yours, don’t lie to yourself) and you’re all just scared to lose the economic advantage. Division will surely take a toll on the competitions but imagine for a second a Champions League without Real Madrid. I assure you (and you will agree), since it’s all about money, the club you mention (PSG, Atlético and Manchester United) will beg to join the Super League to get a piece of the cake.

i just want to comment on the "big matchups every week isn't good" take which i'm hearing a lot. i've been watching the nba for years and big teams play each others multiple times every regular season then might play in the playoffs too. what this creates is proper storylines and continuity. in football, while it's exciting when we get real vs bayern once every 3-4 years, it's just a football match. nba sells stories, not just competition. we see that in the premier league right now, there's all these big teams and they play each others every year and it's still exciting.

    • @smegmaallegra4291
      @smegmaallegra4291 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

American sports are great at creating storylines based on rematches and what not. I'm American and I love the constant big matches here in our leagues and that every league has a playoff system but there's something charming about the limitation of big matchups in the Premier League and throughout Europe. I agree with MGH on this one.

On paper, it's interesting, but on practical, it's not. First of all, players will definitely be burnout with this hectic schedule and traveling. Imagine madrid vs man utd, but on new york at midweek and they have to travel back to england to play aston villa. This will make a club to had at least 2 starting XI with reserve players (30-40 players minimum) and they have to take away all quality players from other club just to compete.

I don't agree that this would work! Teams wouldn't put that much effort into their domestic league, everything is about being in the Star group. Teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid would "always" be in this tournament regardless of how they perform domestically, is that fair? Not in my opinion! This would also mean that for smaller teams like F.C. Copenhagen they would never be able to compete and play against the likes of Man City or Barcelona and that's a shame!

Well |Uefa has acoefficient system tha tdecides how many spots each counrtygets and each counrty divides th espots i naccordance to their competitions. For exampl eth ecurrent system has England given 8 across the various competitions I think. 4 Champions League spots which go to the top 4 Premier Leagu eclubs th e3 Europa League spots are decided b ywh ofinishes 5th and 6th and whoeve rwins the FA cup. The Confrence League spot goes to whoever wins the Carabao Cup. If however say a team win the PL/finish top 4 and win the FA/Carabao Cup then the spot goes to the next team in the league.
But different countries hav e different rules for these things based off of how their leagues work and where the yae rin Uefa's co-efficiency.Coefficenc yas I understand i tis decided based on how well eac hcountry has done in each of the competitions ove r a certain number of years I think I don't know how many years that is though. I know England has onn eo fthe higher ones atm thanks to our sucesses in the competions in recent years from Liverpool Man City and Chelsea. I'm not sure whether Uefa would shaer that data with A22 though and of course given mos tclubs aer saying no atm I'm not sure exactly how the info would help anyway.

I think my dad speaks for all of us when he says what we all don't want to hear or accept,
Villa will end up slowly falling off the pecking order, they will. Yes they have the squad to still challenge, but unless they do something absolutely dramatic like a Leicester, then it just won't happen.
For me, I think having the super league is pointless, if we have to have midweek games then its not different to the new system that's going to be imposed next season in the champions league. Its the same format.
So for me, if its with domestic leagues then I don't want it.
But if it replaces the Premier league, then absolutely. This will mean less games of course, maybe still you play your 38 games, but obviously no champions league football, no fa Cup no league. No pointless little cups to injure your best players.
Because let's all be honest and real, the only teams that should be in those below average cups like the fa cup league cup, should be the likes of Everton, wolves, Burnley, Bournemouth, ect
What I personally would do, is keep the Premier league right now as it is, but I'd remove all the great teams, like the liverpools, the city's, the arsenal's, ect. Doing this will give some of the smaller clubs a better chance at winning the Premier league and it would be alot more competitive. You'd end up having teams like, Newcastle, villa, Burnley, wolves, Everton winning something. And if you win that league then you get put into the super league.
Because yes it would be bad for the big 6 to leave the prem, because if it was the Evertons, the Burnleys every week nobody would watch it,
But why should the big clubs carry the smaller clubs every single season, just to end up having terrible songs sung about them.
Because let's be honest, if it wasn't for top 6 the real top 6 clubs, then the Premier league would absolutely be dead and have no money.
So for me, smaller clubs who absolutely dispise the idea of this, should really start respecting the big clubs. Because without them the prem would probably go bankrupt.
The idea of having a super league absolutely has to happen.
The concept we have no, including the domestic league? Bad idea. Really really bad idea. More chance of injures, more mental health problems. It just wouldn't be worth it.

With 55 European leagues and just 80 places? I don't think so! How many places do you think there'll be for Scottish clubs? Also, why do you keep copy and pasting this comment throughout multiple videos? Are you doing it on behalf of a PR firm? They should be bringing back the European, European Cup Winners and UEFA Cups, with their knock out formats and not pandering to the greedy, plastic, self-entitled scumbags, who are trying to fix themselves permanently at the apex of European football!
(Of course Barca and Real want to make it even less likely than at present that they'll ever have to face Hibs, Aberdeen, or Dundee United in Europe again, given what happened to them every time they faced those clubs in the past in European competition. What was it? Faced those clubs on four occasions, eliminated EVERY time, seven individual matches, one draw and SIX defeats for the "El Plastico" duo?)
