The delivery. The way Paul Stanley delivers this song is smokin'. Back in the day, us girls were puddles at his feet. He was the sexiest man alive. This song solidifies that persona. Paul Stanley plays rhythmn guitar and lead vocals. Gene is on bass, Ace Frehley is lead guitar and Peter Criss on drums. All the guys sing backup.
this album was one of my favorites when it came out...couldn't wait to get it home and on the turntable and listen to the latest KISS album, in fact, in high school, we made outfits and boots, and recreated KISS at a high school talent contest....and they weren't widely popular back in the 70's, but gotta admit, we're ALL still listening to KISS...I'm 62 by the way...and former classic rock DJ on FM radio..Rock On.!!!
I'm a KISS fan since day one and literally grew up on listening to the band at least 5x a day, before and after school and sleep, everyday. They say boys play Cops n Robbers or Cowboys n Indians...my friends and I played KISS Concert.
When I was a 16, 7 of us were on our way to see Kiss in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was winter time, and we ended up spinning out on the way, and literally landing in a snow bank. Over half the car (a big tuna boat mind you) was in the snow bank. One of the guys dug his way out of the back passenger window and went for help. Nobody was hurt, just stunned. Well, buy the time the cops, and tow truck all left if was too late, we missed the concert. We were so bummed. Up until that point we were having a great evening. Kiss was apparently something to see live, so sad we missed out, but were okay.
Guys, I am a big Kiss fan from back in the day(1970's). But still, I do appreciate your critique of this Kiss song. I saw y'all's last reaction video of Kiss("I Was Made For Loving You") and that was cool too! I am a professional musician, and listen to a little bit of everything. You guys give a fair & reasonable opinion of certain songs. I've have seen some of your other videos, and liked them too! Peace, stay safe!
Saw Kiss live in '84 and they were amazing!! Have a backstage pass and Kiss guitar pick for memorabilia! (I was not a skanky backstage gal...just a friendly fan at the right place at the right time!) 🎉💜
You aren't going to get different vocals. Paul Stanley is who he is. For those of us who were KISS fans back in the day, it was the appeal. They were different, rebels, someone to defy your parents with! They're legends in the industry because of it. Are they the best musically? Probably not, but their stage show is incredible and they have a cult following... myself included. :-)
Guys, great reaction. Before you commit to Paul Stanley review, check out Paul's vocals on LIVE song *STILL LOVE YOU*. Keep doing You All and Stay Safe!
There are a couple songs by "The Cult" you might enjoy. "She Sells Sanctuary" and "Rain". Just a couple suggestions. :) I'm REALLY enjoying your channel, by the way. Good job!
I can't say for certain who played in the studio. As on several albums, some members missed sessions. However, just to set the record straight when playing live, in the years when it was the original members.......Gene played bass. To my knowledge, live, Gene was the only one that ever played bass. Paul played mostly rhythm, with the occasional lead or solo. Ace played mostly lead, except for the ones where he and Paul switched. And of course Peter on drums.
KISS covers many styles but are mainly a heavy metal band. Check out more complex tunes like Unholy, Exciter, King of the Mountain, The Jungle…if you want to hear some insane lead playing check out 100,000 Years or I’ve Had Enough (Into The Fire)
You guys should do "Makin' Love"... that song is awesome. Kiss doesn't give you a lot of variety. Subject matter is all similar. Very meat and potatoes rock n roll. Paul Stanley's vocals? You either like 'em or you don't. It's classic Kiss.
Man one of my favorite Kiss Albums is Dynasty. Think that disco song is off it.But the rest of the album sounds totally different from all their other music.Check out Xray Eyes,Hard Times not a bad song on the whole album! Cheers
Black Diamond, 100,000 Years, Parasite, C'mon And Love Me, I Want You, Creatures Of The Night, War Machine, I Love It Loud, Unholy, Psycho Circus, Who Wants To Be Lonely
Hey, guys! New to your channel. Have checked out some videos and enjoy your reactions. Have thrown you a sub and some likes! I see you guys are all over the place in regards to what types of music you check out. That's awesome! I did notice that rock seems to be a pretty common thing too. I'm here for that. I'm a punk and metalhead at heart. However, I wanted to propose a reaction candidate to you. They are going to be a bit different, but as someone with the mentioned music roots, I can vouch that they are worth checking out at the very least. Last August, I fell down the K-pop hole. I knew songs from maybe 1 or 2 groups. Didn't know anything about the groups, but I knew that the K-pop industry encompasses an absurd amount of genres and I didn't have anything better to do. Well, mid-December, I was picking a random group to be my next journey. I wasn't ready for the group I ended up picking and in hindsight, I'm so glad I didn't pick any of the other groups (not that they are bad, they just aren't this group). The group's name is *Dreamcatcher* ! They are a seven member K-pop girl group that debuted on Friday the 13th, January 2017. Known for their darker concepts (serious, dystopian, and/or spooky) and for being the only group to incorporate rock into all of their title tracks in some manner. Their earlier rock sound was heavily influenced by J-rock/pop (anime intro vibes). As time went on, their rock sound evolved into a more modern rock sound and they started mixing/blending in other genres. Almost all of their MVs are story driven. Some storylines span multiple MVs and others are standalone. All amazing vocalists (even their two rappers). If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, I'd suggest one of these options as a starter depending on what interests you more: - "Chase Me" & "Good Night" - Debut song and its continuation. Horror movie vibes. MASSIVE anime intro vibes. First two songs of seven in their "Nightmare" series storyline. - "BEcause" (2021) - Latest title track. Creepy af. Song lyrics are about obsessive love and the MV concept involves doppelgangers. The MV and choreography are influenced by, and have references to, the movie "Us". - "Scream" (2020) - First song in their "Dystopia" trilogy. The trilogy addresses and calls out anonymous harassment, bullying, and obsession with technology to try and escape that tough reality. It's all handled with well thought out lyrics and a shit load of symbolism in the MVs. There are a few other groups that have rock songs, but only one or two songs. No other K-pop group does what Dreamcatcher does. To clarify, K-rock bands are a separate thing. Dreamcatcher is easily one of the most unique groups you'll experience in K-pop. If you don't vibe with them, it's all good. Giving them an opportunity is what's important to me at least. If you decide to react to them, a pre-emptive thank you! If not, they're worth a listen in your free time, for sure. Thanks for the reactions!
You need to check out a live performance of a song named ‘mistreated’. Either the 74 version with deep purple (Coverdale singing) or the 77 version in Munich with Rainbow (Dio singing). Excellent song and great performances
I think you guys are basically suffering from, not being there! This is the 1970s, disco was king in rock ‘n’ roll was barely alive, bands like kiss cab rock ‘n’ roll alive, and if they had a song? They were going to belted out as hard as humanly possible! I’ll let you know that this wasn’t some disco. Those are Paul Stanley’s vocals and he was good enough to play Phantom of the opera for a while in Toronto!
No Paul Stanley and Gene do not both play bass, Paul may be capable of playing bass but he does not play bass on the albums or during live shows. He is rhythm guitar, Ace Frehley is lead guitar, Gene is Bass, Peter Criss is drums if you're talking about classic kiss. All four original members had hit songs by kiss that they did leave vocals on but Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons split lead vocals on the majority of the songs with Paul probably doing more than Gene
Dr Love 😎 ... I Was made for loving you was the last very hit that went dicso....dig up older Kiss... Stanley was nowhere near Gene as a bass player, Gene stuck to your ribs... highly underated
Actually Gene didn't play bass on this song, He wasn't able to get into the studio so someone else had to play for him, Most likely a studio musician or Ace Frehley. There's actually a lot of tracks he didn't play on. Many of Ace Frehley's songs had Ace playing both lead guitar and bass, While in the 80's, drummer Eric Carr would handle bass if Gene or someone else couldn't. A good song to listen to with Eric on bass is "I Still Love You" from their '82 album, Creatures of the Night. This is also a video showing the ones be didn't play on. th-cam.com/video/F_wjY45VoSE/w-d-xo.html
A silly song about a guy singing about Mr. Pee Pee. What's funny, though, is after all this fuss, he says: "Girl, I can make you feel........okay." Just okay? Really? I guess "incredible" or "amazing" didn't rhyme. Kind of a buzz-kill for the girl, though. Not their best song, but listenable.
Hello guys! I really like your reaction style that I find insightful and engaging 🙂 I’d be curious to see you reacting to Soul With A Capital S by Tower Of Power, so super cool 😎
How can you say Paul Stanley is not as good as other singers?!? Tell me one Rock singer who is better reaching the high notes with that much power. Probably Ian Gillan is similarly good. Freddie Mercury is probably better overall, but not on the high notes.
Gentleman, 100% you NEED to hear "Strutter" by KISS, one of their best, IMO.
Nah. All Hells Breakin' Loose, Keep Me Comin, A Million to One are killer tracks!
@Buck Jones those songs are a o played out. Mine are like a breath of fresh air.
Black Diamond

My favorite band if all time
I'm a KISS fan since day one and literally grew up on listening to the band at least 5x a day, before and after school and sleep, everyday. They say boys play Cops n Robbers or Cowboys n Indians...my friends and I played KISS Concert.
All four members played their own instruments on this track. This is the first KISS album to have all 4 members sing a lead track on the album.
Simmons on base
Stanley on rhythm
Freeley on lead
Criss on drums
When I was a 16, 7 of us were on our way to see Kiss in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was winter time, and we ended up spinning out on the way, and literally landing in a snow bank. You know for a fact a band does amazing live performances if someone’s only concern is missing it instead of their literal crashed car lmao
@@ValuesNotFound Oh no we were very concerned about the car. I was only a passenger by the way.
Gene Simmons is the bassist, Paul Stanley plays guitar, Ace Frehley on lead guitar, Peter Criss on drums
My very 1st concert with rush as warmup band

I got this album for my 6th birthday and it had the pop- gun included.
100,000 Years is a great KISS song.
Saw Kiss live in '84 and they were amazing!! Have a backstage pass and Kiss guitar pick for memorabilia! (I was not a skanky backstage gal...just a friendly fan at the right place at the right time!) 🎉💜
Paul’s Voice really comes through as he wrote more….he’s got an Awesome Voice, along with all 4 members harmonizing.
Paul Stanley did play bass on this track, he is the rhythm guitarist though but occasionally played bass on songs in the studio.
Thank u for KISS
You should check their earlest material from. the album "Kiss Alive" !!
1) Duece
2) Strutter
3) Got to Choose
Live version guys...
“ Deuce “ would have to be next. Some live stuff is always good
This is the first album I ever bought
You aren't going to get different vocals. Paul Stanley is who he is. For those of us who were KISS fans back in the day, it was the appeal. Hell yes!
Try KISS "100,000 years". Off of the KISS "Alive" album
Best version of Love Gun is Alive 2, hands down. Ace's solo at the end hits so much harder in they Alive version.
Shock Me should be next. KILLER guitar solo. Get to hear Ace Frehley on vocals as well.
Great reaction guys. Hard to go wrong with anything from the 70's. Dressed to kill is killer. Cmon and love me. Rock bottom. She.....
Paul is actually on Bass for this song
You guys should react to Shock Me

You want to hear a great Paul Stanley vocal? Listen and react to I Still Love You, Kiss MTV Unplugged. One of the best vocals I've ever heard live.
All American man is also a great song
I always liked the song “black diamond “
Paul Stanley did play bass on the track.

Man one of my favorite Kiss Albums is Dynasty. Think that disco song is off it.But the rest of the album sounds totally different from all their other music.Check out Xray Eyes,Hard Times not a bad song on the whole album! Cheers

Great video!! I recommend you to react to Jungle by KISS from the album Carnival of Souls.
Greetings from Argentina
Funny reaction!
You should give their song crazy crazy nights! Such a fun song!
If you doubt Paul's voice at all. Listen to I Still Love You, unplugged!
Check out "Let Me Go Rock n Roll", or "Watchin' You" off of Alive.
Watch I still love you from Kiss MTV unplugged your opinion on his singing talent will change.
The part at 5:16 never fails to cheer me up!

Simmons plays bass and Stanley plays rhythm guitar. They both do a few other things but those are their primary roles.
I know u guys don’t overload on a band…but…..more is in order! War Machine/Unholy/Strutter….to name a few!👍🤘🏻
React Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas. 🎶🎶🤘🏼🤘🏼
Incredible song. 🔥🔥
Gene Simmons is ALWAYS on bass. He is the bass player. Period. Anyone who says different, doesn't know KISS.
I liked Kiss when I was 13-14 and then I heard Rush and the Kiss music was just vanilla.
I hope It's love gun that they're gonna react to
Paul Stanley does not play bass. He plays rhythm guitar.
Hey, careful about displeasing that thar KISS Army. They're crazy, I tells ya. The name Custer mean anything to you?
Gene Simmons is lead on 'Love Gun'.
Hello guys! I really like your reaction style that I find insightful and engaging 🙂 I’d be curious to see you reacting to Soul With A Capital S by Tower Of Power, so super cool 😎
I second this. Such a funky captivating song! Would love to see your faces when the groove hits on this one 😎🕺🏼
Like Maiden, Kiss is better live.
If you think there's something wrong with Paul Stanley's vocals you have problems.
Well that's like your opinion man
How can you say Paul Stanley is not as good as other singers?!? Tell me one Rock singer who is better reaching the high notes with that much power. Probably Ian Gillan is similarly good. Freddie Mercury is probably better overall, but not on the high notes.
Gene Simmons is ALWAYS on bass. Anyone who says Paul Stanley played bass on any Kiss song is clueless and should listen, not speak!
Gene played bass. Paul played rhythm.
Paul Stanley plagiarized the concept from zeppelin, which they plagiarized it from Albert King...
