The way hand made animation feels is so different then digital, there's a certain texture, a kind of grain that is missing these days, yes it's often beautiful to have crisp, sharp and clean colours, but I feel like it should be manually added in for those kinds of anime. That era of anime also had some of the greatest mechanical/robot animations, super detailed, felt like steel, grime and dirt....they looked kind of real in a way, the 80s/90s also had some of the greatest dashboards/control panels or anything with a screen and infos on it x)
I also miss the old anime sci-fi aesthetic. It was a time when the creators didn't have the budget to realize their visions, so they drew it, instead. Even rather doofy anime like the Project A-ko series had stunning visuals.
The problem is that after the Japanese economic boom in the 80s suddenly went tits up, it became even more expensive to hire artists to hand draw each and every still frame for these high end, organic, fluid animations. With Japan's economy only getting progressively worse thru the late 80s, 90s, and into the early 2000s, as well as the advent of computer-drawn animation, these hand drawn and cel animations came to be seen as obsolete, costly, and inefficient. And then of course the -đïpşhīțs- members of Japan's youth just HAD to go and develop an obsession with MoE kAwAii content that only became more and more intense with the passage of time, causing all the big anime studios' execs' eyes to go all ( ¥3¥) at the market for moe shīţ, which pretty much killed the 80s and 90s iconic gritty action, cyberpunk, and robot genres of anime altogether. I still love this show. Yes, it had some story problems, but also lots of great ideas. Think of the effor it took to animate by hand and the skill of the artists and designers. Great Stuff!
Well done. My 3 favorite things in the world: Perturbator, Kenichi Sonoda era Bubble Gum Crisis and AMV. My buddy Matt Murray (over on Corn Pone Flicks) did Akira to Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb back in 1992. You did as great a job as he did.
ha, you know how many hours its necessary to do only those 10 seconds of animation?? lmao old manga is the best in the this world, not like the actual digital bullshit.
The animation fro the first 3 OVAs is good, but it pales in comparison with the quality they later started doing for episodes 4-8. You can really tell where they hired more animators and increased the quality, and fluidity of the animation. Sadly Bubblegum Crisis got cancelled due to a legal battle over rights, it had a ton of potential and thats why its still so well revered by Anime fans.
@@wjrneo2 5-6 and 8 are my favorite. Shame what happened to the production. They were going for 13. Imagine that. My favorite anime given a real run. Loved this episode! My favorite and very memorable. It was so flippin' awesome, but at the same time pretty sad. Just a guy on his Revenge Road against the biker gangs after being bullied by them, and yet he becomes the evil one instead, all for his own sense of justice for him and his girlfriend.

I truly love her with all my heart. Long live the Sabers, these knights, for all nights to come. -- _... sanjo._
My favorite episode of all anime A simple guy turned his car into a real Frankenstein on wheels, which subsequently acquires his own mind This series I like the atmosphere soaked in revenge And by the way, the second version of the Griffin (the so-called this car) I liked more than the last
A few years ago I went looking for an image of the Griffin (car), but couldn't find it. I kept running into the rebooted Bubble Gum Crisis show references, but not this one. What I was really looking for was a detailed drawing or model kit of the car.Anyhow, finding this lovely music video has been a treat. Nice work, rather haunting sound.
Yeah! Marketing is not my strong suit. I figured my channel could very be that guilty pleasure people discover and don't talk too much about. ;] That said, I am literally about to release a new video within the next 30 minutes, you should check it out: The Sky Crawlers Vs Moderat - Rusty nails.
Animation like this is very long missing, It has something special this type of 80’s animation that the new ones lack, but I can’t say for sure what is it, almost like a soul. Maybe that’s why Daft Punk love to use that style of Japanese animation for their videos.
I love BGC. I adore this older style of animation. This with Perturbator is 10/10. Thanks for the video! This is killer. If I write another BGC fic, I'll probably have this on the playlist while I do it. But people do need to remember that even within the original BGC series, changes to animation techniques were already sweeping through. The first episodes look vastly different from the latter ones in the series of eight. And while this might be my favorite series ever, there IS good anime being produced now. Equal to the best of the old days. Don't forget that there was a LOT of hot garbage being churned out back in the day. I mean absolute trash. It's fine adoring the old stuff, but don't forget to appreciate the new, and don't go full rose colored. Besides, one thing I like about anime these days is that you're far more likely to actually get a completed storyline. Can't count the number of classic, excellent anime (BGC, Dangaio, Guyver, etc) that just kind of ends on cliffhangers or clearly not where the authors would have wanted it to.
Nothing is equal to the old days. You know better than to say that... Getting a complete storyline doesn't always mean it's going to be good. But to say this moderating stuff in a Bubblegum Crisis video? I suggest you stop typing briefly and actually watch it... there's nothing like this in the world anymore. We are fading away love. It can't be emulated with ease, and few would even try. As we become numb to this loss, we begin accepting excellence wherever we may find it. The new Sailor Moon film is planning on turning heads... but I know it will only do its best, and I have to accept that. Just like us, the dreams that gave us that era, the people, are leaving this world.... and it shows.
In Japan they are still very similar now as they were back then. The Disney reboot of Duck Tales was total junk. They actually made Scrooge McDuck a goodie-goodie. That's not a reboot, that is a new show.
@@travisdonaldstanley6420 I agree, not much has changed in Japan as far as their culture goes, it's just that most anime that makes it over here now doesn't reflect their culture nearly as much as 80s and early 90s anime did.

this is just astonishingly good. been bumping for the past 30 days almost every day
*pacha face of satisfaction*
Damn it's good to be alive for this...
I still love this show. Yes, it had some story problems, but also lots of great ideas. Think of the effor it took to animate by hand and the skill of the artists and designers. Great Stuff!
This video is phenomenal considering that's all hand drawn. No computer or CGI graphics. And music matches every action perfectly.
Well done. My 3 favorite things in the world: Perturbator, Kenichi Sonoda era Bubble Gum Crisis and AMV. My buddy Matt Murray (over on
Corn Pone Flicks) did Akira to Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb back in 1992. You did as great a job as he did.
Hrm, that car and some of the chase beats reminds me of Batman's tumbler so much.
Wow that girl in the begining this is so well edited
ha, you know how many hours its necessary to do only those 10 seconds of animation?? lmao old manga is the best in the this world, not like the actual digital bullshit.
@@Big1_ it's called anime **pushes up glasses**
The animation fro the first 3 OVAs is good, but it pales in comparison with the quality they later started doing for episodes 4-8. You can really tell where they hired more animators and increased the quality, and fluidity of the animation.
Sadly Bubblegum Crisis got cancelled due to a legal battle over rights, it had a ton of potential and thats why its still so well revered by Anime fans.
@@wjrneo2 5-6 and 8 are my favorite. Shame what happened to the production. They were going for 13. Imagine that. My favorite anime given a real run. I appreciate Crash and though I dislike it, I can't hate 2040 as it still is about my favorite girls in anime.
Guess there's nothing but love left to give at this point. The past is the past... And what a past it's been. See you in 2033... 💋
Priscilla was love.
Love the streetlights. do 200mph and it looks like a tunnel. Akira had the same...
The Music Played along with this Matches it Perfectly. Its sad that TH-cam is the only source we have left, to being able to see things like this
¡¡Es magnífico este animé y manga lo mejor de mi época, como me puedo olvidar de tremenda joya,Es-pec-ta-cu-lar!!!👍👏👏👏👏
It is impressive how well sychronized the music and the video are. Beyond measure.
Good mix. Bubblegum Crisis + Perturbator + Greta Link = Excellent
This song is so good, i cant stop myself listening it all the time^^
First time I found the song I listened to it more than 30 times in a single sitting! :D
@@bad4ever2001 Sounds more like the Masturbator to me...
@@eddygiron2390 That may very well be the idea behind the name.
And taken from my very favourite BGC episode, Revenge Road :)
Oh God!!! Boi do I remember TOKYO BUBBLE GUM CRISIS 20240.....The '80's &'90's had probably some of the best anime of all time were created in those days. Ah the memories of YESTER-YEAR'S creativity.......😆
This is beyond cool. So well done. I want to live in a CYBERPUNK world.
Badass!
The music and the editing to clips from Bubblegum Crisis:
Amazing....
Well done. You have captured the jittering crazyness and desolation in your sequences.
I almost feel bad the Griffin got destroyed, it was such a cool car. They even made it look all dramatic and sad too.
My first anime... Priss -- My first crush.
Sorry, but growing up in the streets of Puerto Rico, Priss introduced me to a type of human being I didn't even know was possible.
She changed my life. I truly love her with all my heart. Long live the Sabers, these knights, for all nights to come. -- _... sanjo._
I believe she is inspired from the replicant named Priss in Blade Runner.
My favorite episode of all anime
A simple guy turned his car into a real Frankenstein on wheels, which subsequently acquires his own mind
This series I like the atmosphere soaked in revenge
And by the way, the second version of the Griffin (the so-called this car) I liked more than the last
A few years ago I went looking for an image of the Griffin (car), but couldn't find it. I kept running into the rebooted Bubble Gum Crisis show references, but not this one. What I was really looking for was a detailed drawing or model kit of the car.Anyhow, finding this lovely music video has been a treat. Nice work, rather haunting sound.
R32 skyline gtr :)
What episode is this?
@@drte1sousa I think 10
@@bobylev-lu6us many thanks, but I believe bubblegum crisis only has 8 episodes, right?
This is best song/edit on youtube imo. Thank you b4e and perturbator
Fantastic nod to blade runner. Priss and the replicants. Nice.
La musica pega perfectamente con el ambiente futurista de Buble Gum, bien hecho!!
looks like every one loves this particular episode in the bubble gum crisis ova.
One of my favorite songs to commute on my bike
Awesome video. Was just added to 3D TRIP VR group on FB and playlist on YT. Cheerz
That’s should have been the soundtrack for this awesome classic anime.
Love finding new music to write to.
This is mesmerizing. And it’s paired with classic anime. Score!
... ... I keep coming back to this, well done.
4:15 You know you have a team when you can jump and KNOW they'll catch you (and the unconscious civilians you are holding)
Bubblegum Crisis was a work of art on so many levels. Deep, dark, and in depth
There aren't many songs this good coming out any more -
Шикарное звучание, ностальгия так и пробирает)
I’m surprised that this doesn’t have at least 100,000 views like other songs on TH-cam with the anime and the a song with it 🤔
Yeah! Marketing is not my strong suit. I figured my channel could very be that guilty pleasure people discover and don't talk too much about. ;]
That said, I am literally about to release a new video within the next 30 minutes, you should check it out:
The Sky Crawlers Vs Moderat - Rusty nails.

Just shy of 1.1 million now. Gratz.
Totally cool and incredible sound and music!!!💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Take good care of yourself, and ya may just live to see the 80’s again xD
Its coming back brutha, 80s cars, cassette tapes, neon, cyberpunk stuff, ect.
Gotta agree with Krystal, mate. I'll join the old man brigade and say that the older stuff were better.
I miss those old-school anime.
So classic... so epic...
Before anime became 'safe', 'sterile', and 'mainstream'.....
This comment is so overrated. I can't agree more.
@@SynthwaveLana
I remember watching Trigun back in 2017 or so.
When the woke stuff was really getting some momentum.
I thought, wow. Japanese artists don't have a narrative or dialogue or a political agenda. It's all about the story immersion.
Granted, Trigun came out in 1998.
Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time is most banned at UC Berkeley.
@@travisdonaldstanley6420 I'm not familiar with those two animes, but I'll take your word for it.
If you want something more recent from Japan that still has good story and depth, I recommend Jujutsu Kaisen.
What a sad end for a really sweet, 80's anime supercar. And the way this was arranged, I think it deserved 100k views.
It's so good that I feel greeps on my skin ***-***

Pure dope : great track & superb anime with film look and tech ! Thanks !!!
The animation in the original BGC was amazing, several times better than the remake.
I fucking love whoever decided a mech suit needed ballet heels.
I normally use this song for exercise without song I do till fail with song I don't know what happens to me but I go beyond fail honestly does music dose this to anyone it's a scary and almost intoxicating feeling
Great anime. Great music...
This song really works for Bubblegum Criss. Nice.
¡Este vídeo músical quedó buenísimo gracias!👍😃
"Need to chase down that cyborg better put on my "protective" makeup"
Everything about this is fucking amazing. I wish I could buy everyone involved some drinks. Cheers
I think this masterpiece can become even more masterpiecer by adding quietly (5-10-15% max) the sound effects from the video, engines roaring, things smashing, wheels sqeaking etc... Not sure which will be better from the actual movie or from somewhere else
Kickass AMV, and another anime to add on my list
I have the Bubblegum Crisis module for Cyberpunk rpg. Its got the production artwork for all the mecha designs in the show, one of my most treasured items in the swag hoard.
