Amazing idea to both of you. Peak vanilla C:S. Would making the "barracks" half of the base out of a campus (probably trade school would be best) be possible as well? Dorm buildings, gym, cafeteria, as well as serving to educate the cims vs being an industry or park area.

A collab between Imperatur and OVERCHARGED EGG is the best collaboration we could ever have. And this build is nothing short of pure awe. The many unique uses of assets is really what makes this Air Force Base so good. This is truly one of the most creative C:S builds yet. Fabulous work.
Awesome build. One small suggestion. If you're going for realism, consider moving the highway so that it goes around the base and not under it. The point of a hardened aircraft shelter is to protect fighter jets from enemy attacks. Tunneling a highway directly under that aircraft shelter poses an extra security issue.
Yeah that makes sense.. but there was simply no room for the highway elsewhere..

the fact that he added the sound affect of all the military codes from A to Z when he switched sections is just a masterpiece.
I was in the Air Force for 8 years, so seeing a Cities: Skylines take on an Air Force Base is pretty cool.
There are a few tips I have if you would like to improve it in the future.
In the US, they are AFBs, but outside the US, since they are shared with local military forces, they are simply known as Air Bases, so this one I assume is within the United States.
Air Force Bases take up a lot of space, usually a lot more than the airfield, so this looks to be a scaled down version based on how far the facilities and flightline are from one another.
Training bases often have target ranges located somewhere nearby.
The perimeter road you have should be a paved road.
I like that you have aircraft displays, but they are typically located at the entrance of the base.
There are many offices such as Finance, Housing, and MPF located at what we call the nonner side, the side of the base that does not participate in flightline operations.
You can also add facilities such as a vehicle maintenance area or a separated fuel supply depot (where I worked at) located a distance from the parking apron.
You built a track and field which many bases have for Physical Training, but many smaller bases will have it's own school in which it's field will be used.
I like that you have the housing kind of separated, but each building should follow a minimum 25 foot rule from both the street and from other buildings.
Many bases are also often the headquarters of a different groups of commands, so you could have a building act as a headquarter for a MAJCOM, or just the base headquarters.
The type of aircraft you have are used to transport high ranking officers, so a couple of MAJCOMs would be very fitting.
Overall, I think it's a decent layout for a quick, simple-detailed Air Force Base.

Airports are a constant struggle for me so an air base is something that hadn't even crossed my mind (I say as an air force plane flies overhead..) This looks great!

C:S allows for passenger and cargo separation, but no other designated uses for airports/runways. ☹
A build like this is a perfect example of what one can do to add working realism if C:S had more "open world/customization" capabilities built-in.
Maybe C:S 2 will change that?
Even functional roof-top heli-pads would be a step in the right direction towards realism.

But it got me wonder if that highway would be allowed to go underneath the base in real life.
There's a road that goes across an active military runway in Switzerland, so I'd say it wouldn't be a stretch.
Next level stuff! The residents of Orchid Bay can sleep well at night knowing the skies are secure. Love it!

Some realism is lost with the highway, and the angle of the runway kind of pointing at a mountain could trigger a reaction from the aviation police (of which I am a member lol) but it’s cities skylines and the build looks amazing man. I’m trying to start a city with a naval bas and air station and it’s really hard to get the feel correct. Great job! Stealing the bunker hangar idea for sure.

Usually the HAS are not built in a line - apart fron that it's nicely done for a no mods built. :)
Oh and that mountain on the right side in the approach should be gone. You won't find anything like that in RL. :)
