I've been trying to figure out why your videos are so great to watch, and I think it's your eye for asymmetry. Anyone can make a beautiful symmetrical design, but you have a way of making asymmetrical things look so satisfying. I've been trying to do this for years with my road layouts and I can't quite get it, so I love your content. I can't wait to see what you do with CS2!
I get what you're saying. The only way I can recreate his perfect asymmetrical designs is if I recreate exactly what he is building. For example, I'm currently building a Japanese city (and a Californian city on the side, that's why I'm here for his LA inspired content) and so the only way how I could perfectly create a Japanese central station was by copying exactly what Imperatur built in his Railroads of Japan showcase video
One tip for a small town: you can make a “railyard” with just a few tracks and some of the farming industry grain silos built along it. You see those commonly in rural areas by small farm towns. Throw in the seaside resorts train station and you have a nice contrast from a sprawling big city all on the same map.
Ahhh a railyard from Imperatur, is 111% happiness for sure. Have loved all the shipyards and cargo complexes you have done in the years, I am looking forward to seeing what you can/will do in CS2 😊
Dang never thought about using the airport train station, and the container yard too. Man you're a genius XD. Anyways I think the placement of the sports fields are a bit off. Wouldn't it be better if it's placed near the train stations above? For easier access. Also I think the train stations are placed too close together, it doesn't look efficient. Perhaps the middle station can be removed and replaced with a bus or tram lane instead. Nevertheless, looking forward to the next video. Cheers~
Haha the whack-a-mole building method sucks in CS1 - I hope that's something they can integrate better in CS2!! But your patience pays off man, this looks incredible. Love these series!!
You'd have to rebalance the time for each route further, so that using the wrong exit takes longer. Since the highway ramp has slightly lower speeds than the highways (80km/h instead of 100km/h, if I remember correctly), this might be as simple as branching the ramp earlier off the highway so that a longer portion is spent on the ramp. Of course you have to be careful that you don't overbalance so that they always use the other ramp.

Hi, I wanted to know if at first you ever found it useful to first draw your projects on paper, and then reproduce them on the game. I play on PS4, and I find a lot of inspiration in your videos, even if unfortunately there are no years of practice;) really good gods!!
Can someone explain to me how to get this nice graphic? For example I am searching for the nice "yellow" way in the landscape tool which has been used in the youtube videos. Or for example the underground of the railways are yellow but mine are grey. Does someone have an idea what mod or whatever this is?
I don't think he's using it in that project, but to paint the ground yellow, you usually use the farming resource brush from Extra Landscaping Tools. As for the colour of the railway ballast, that depends on your map theme. It uses the gravel texture. But I think that's always a bright brown colour if you use the vanilla map themes.

Great railyard design. But I noticed lots of cars turning left (up) from the wrong highway exit at 9:58 and I am not sure how to fix it in vanilla

I kinda fixed it, i made the one ramp with the narrow 2 lane one way road off camera
