This recovery only works for corrupted file system (that is, the card is techically fine but the logical data on the card is broken). If you have a truly corrupted SD card, it may show as a wrong size device (I have one card that's 128 GB and worked fine for multiple years and now shows as 7.9 GB storage device when connected). In case of corrupted file system the right way to do the recovery is to take binary image of the whole device and then run recovery tools on that image file. If you have corrupted filesystem, you cannot know if the card is failing or if the corruption was caused by software bug. Reading the image with the most effective way from start to end puts least hardware pressure to the sd card and has highest probability of succeeding. If you try to do recovery directly from the card, the software you're using may be accessing the device multiple times in small requests which makes the imaging process slower and has higher probability of the device failing during the recovery in case the original failure was caused by flakey hardware instead of software bug.

Hi! I bought a fake card that had "982gb" off Amazon, used it for an airshow, but it rained and the card got water damage and went corrupt by the end of the day! Would my files be recovered by any way?
I was watching one of my videos on my phone that was on the SD card when the video froze, I seen a read write error appear, then it just closed.. everything seems to be gone, the SD card niw says it's unsupported and I cannot access anything, and says it needs to be formatted. I tried putting the SD card on my computer, it appears empty and says must be formatted to use. which I will not do, because it has all my photos and videos... will disk drill work with this situation?

My audio files from zoom got lost and disk drill got some files but it was mostly white noise.. I did purchase pro… Is there any company that can 100 get back my files?
even after I downloaded Disk Drill, it still will not show the corrupted SD Card. What else should I do? This SD Cards has pictures of both my Dad and Step Dad who have both passed away and I would really love to get them back.
My card was in my drone when it crashed. The files were on there from the previous flights but my computers won't recognize the SanDisk Extreme Plus 128 microSD card. It's not my card reader as I inserted a good sd card and it shows up on my computer and in Disk Drill but not the bad one. It doesn't appear to have any visible physical damage and it doesn't ask to be formatted just not visible. What now?
OK the Disk Drill waved the magic wand over the SD card and somehow DD sees the card and sees files in there. I only need the latest ones as I already have most of the card files downloaded. I unselected some during the scan process does that messed things up as it's been almost an hour now and it appears to only be like 5-10% done according to the bar and none of the files have changed status under "Recovery Chances" They all say "Waiting". Should I stop and restart with only my selected files?
Anddyyyyy, you’re saving my life. I’m currently following along but my disk drill keeps saying “scanning” - I can see previews of files. But it’s not giving me the recover option as the recovery chances box is stuck at “waiting”.
Here’s the thing this particular SD card I have was in my DSI, which has all my flip notes and photos, which I never use the SD card in a camera only on a Nintendo DSi. Will this tactic still work?
It took over 2 hours to scan 26.5 GB of files, and now it wants fucking $90 to recover it. Sorry, but no. It already pissed away more than that in my time waiting. Maybe if there was a $25 "one-time" option, but I'm not going to get $90 out of this program at this point.
I bought disk drill after I had an sd card get corrupted. I formated the sd card and i'm trying to use disk drill to recover some the photos but it's only showing there are 3 files available to recover. Do you know how I can fix this? I didn't do anything after formatting the card so that the data wouldn't be overwritten.
Any tips to get the drive to show up? The SD card will get detected by my gopro and needs reformatting to be used. But it won't get detected by my pc or show up in the disk drill list. I tried a known good sd and that shows up on my pc just fine so the SD card reader is working.
This seems simple enough. So, I have a 128GB SD card that when it is functioning in my android phone, I will click on a picture file and for a split second the picture flashes onscreen, then is replaced by a blank screen with a camera icon. When I transfer the SD card to computer to view the image, it automatically comes up with 'unsupported file type' message. I am able to use a second SD card in my phone that has pictures on it and the pictures come up fine when the SD card is inserted on my computer. I'm assuming that the first SD card is corrupt and could potentially be fixed by the process you are showing in this video. Any advice would be helpful please.
When I tried to recover my E drive, I found over 2000 files but it said I can’t transfer them back into my corrupted E drive it said it’s only for display
If it says "Low" under recovery chances with no preview, and "This file isn’t playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt." when I try to open the recovered file, does that pretty much mean they are not recoverable/lost for good?
Thanks for the crisp video. Over a month ago, after shooting many small videos (less than a min), I found all of them in my Android gallery showing as exclamation marks. I restarted the phone and found proper thumbnails. So, tried moving all of them to my SD card on phone, which failed. Since then, unable to find them anywhere. They were important to me. Tried so many "recover" apps but none so far has shown any of the files. Want to try Disk Drill to recover these videos and pics. Any authentic app you know that will scan my phone and SD card? Thanks again.
You can use Disk Drill for Mac to attempt to recover data from an Android phone. Disk Drill for Windows does not have this feature yet. Please mind, that Disk Drill can't be installed on a phone, you need to have a Mac computer. For Disk Drill to be able to scan the Android device it will need to be rooted. Please note, that Rooting is done at your own risk, and we are not responsible for any consequences And if you would like to scan your SD card, you need to extract it from the device and scan it on your computer directly.
PLEASE HELP! I didn't see anything In this video about the posting me $80?!?! I was able to "recover" although all I got to do was preview 1,066 files and I need them back. they are of 5-6 different trips I went on with my family. if there any way I can get them for free?

Downloaded this, its scans some files ( 150 - I have many more on the card) but I was still unable to open the thumbnails. This only scanned 150 photos and then said I need to pay for premium which I won't be using as not confident this will be able to help my issue. You should say this charges people in the video so time is not wasted.

Hello, my SD card showing different symptoms from the ones mentioned in the video. Regardless of using my cheap SD card reader or my Canon camera, the drive shows up and disappears randomly. I have updated the Canon software (PC) but it did not help. I have tried different USB slots from USB1.0 to 3.2, same results. Can this be about a corrupted SD card, or a faulty one? Hey, i am trying to recover the lost files by connecting charging cable to my laptop, but I can't find the drive when i open disk drill, but its visible normally in the pc
Disk Drill recovered most of my photos except for the latest pics I took! It says "Deep Scan" found them, but when I click on it it says "Orphans" -> "Lost". When I click on the "Lost" files it just has a loading sign. I'm not sure it actually recovered it since those don't load/ can't preview it but others do? Should I still try to recover them through Disk Drill? Thx!!

Hi there, I need some help so on my android galxay s9 phone I setup a password but I accentally forgotten it then after 15 attempts and fail to unlocking my phone it auto factory reset, afterward when I finish setting my phone back I went and check on my file app for my sd card files but all my files seem to got easred/deleted so is there anyway to get my video, pic and other important stuff back? Side Note I dont have anything back up other then on that sd card and I dont know if its corupted or not.
Every recovery case is unique and depends on thousands of parameters. The only way to verify that your files are recoverable is downloading Disk Drill Basic, running the scan on the whole drive (not just volume or partition) without interruptions, locating the files in question, and previewing them to verify the content. Disk Drill PRO will recover the files that can be correctly previewed in Disk Drill Basic.
Hello Sir I have a 1gb sd card where I had saved some of my photos. But after installing the card to another device to preview the data, not a single data is found there. This video is great. However, what is the solution if this program doesn't even show my SD card is plugged into my laptop. The OS recognizes it as an SD Card under "Devices and Printers" but there is no way to open to view the files. And therefore this program also doesn't even show it under the Disk List. It finds the SSD in my laptop but not the SD card. I am in serious need of help here....
all this is useless when the drive doesnt show up... my issue is the pc will make the sound of device being inserted to a usb port but will not show up on disk list after
Check Disk Management to see if the SD card shows as unallocated or RAW. Try a different card reader or USB port to rule out connection issues. In Device Manager, check if the SD card is recognized under "Disk Drives" or "USB controllers" and reinstall drivers if needed. Use a recovery tool Disk Drill if the card is detected there.
My phone need a factory reset, which would remove all data from internal memory. I had lots of data on an SD card. I removed the SD card before the Reset. After Reset and phone working great again. I reinstalled the SD card. Under My files I could see all the SD card data, but could not open any of the data. Each and every photo, music mp3 file, word document, PDF file, etc could not be opened by the appropriate app. I copied a photo from the SD card and tried to open on my computer and could not open. Anything I copied over from the SD card could not be opened on my computer. Are all of the files somehow encrypted or corrupted. I tried copying a music MP3 file from my computer and put it on the same SD card and it played fine. So I think the SD card is not corrupt, but the files seem to be corrupted. Also, some of the photos which I cannot view on phone or computer were not stored anywhere else, so no backup of those photos except the SD card. They are there, but cannot be viewed.
I found my problem under phone Settings/Security and privacy/Other security setting/Encrpt or decrypt SD card. It says this card cannot be Decrypted by this phone, try putting SD card back in original phone where it was Encrypted then Decrypt and try in this phone again. So apparently I needed to Decrypt my SD card before removing from the same phone I Factory Reset. Oh well lesson learned the hard way as usual.
Some files that can’t be fully previewed might still be recoverable, but we don’t guarantee their successful recovery. In such situations, feel free to contact CleverFiles team via email (help@cleverfiles.com) for more information about the risks associated with the recovery of damaged files.
If your card is not detected by the computer, that usually means it has some hardware problems which can't be fixed by software like Disk Drill. We recommend you take that SD card to a local Data recovery center.
Check if the SD card is properly connected, try different card readers, and check if it appears in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac). Update drivers or try the card in another computer. Inspect the card for physical damage and test with another SD card to isolate the issue. If the card shows up but isn't accessible, try formatting it, keeping in mind this will erase all data. Start with trying Disk Drill and if it does not work, please contact us at help@cleverfiles.com for further assistance.
up to only 500mb is pretty bad honestly, would need to use that like 200 times to get back a large amount of data
Thanks for commenting! We offer a free recovery of up to 500 MB of your data if you use Disk Drill for Windows. Unfortunately, this option is not available for Mac users at this time.
You can find more information here: www.cleverfiles.com/help/disk-drill-mac-windows.html
We do guarantee the recovery of the files you can fully preview in the free version.

May I ask if I need internet connection before I use the software??? Thanks for response...
No.
My audio files from zoom got lost and disk drill got some files but it was mostly white noise.. I did purchase pro… Is there any company that can 100 get back my files?

I've emailed you.
even after I downloaded Disk Drill, it still will not show the corrupted SD Card.

Please, give it some time. Data recovery is a long process and may take hours or even days depending on the drive size and health.
Anddyyyyy, you’re saving my life. I’m currently following along but my disk drill keeps saying “scanning” - I can see previews of files. But it’s not giving me the recover option as the recovery chances box is stuck at “waiting”.
Give it some time, please. When scanning is finished, you'll be able to recover your files.
Here’s the thing this particular SD card I have was in my DSI, which has all my flip notes and photos, which I never use the SD card in a camera only on a Nintendo DSi. Will this tactic still work?
You can scan your SD card with Disk Drill to see what can be recovered from it.
Nothing found 😢
It took over 2 hours to scan 26.5 GB of files, and now it wants fucking $90 to recover it.

@@cleverfiles will do, thank you
Any tips to get the drive to show up?

The issue with the first SD card is happening for all pictures and videos on that card.
When I tried to recover my E drive, I found over 2000 files but it said I can’t transfer them back into my corrupted E drive it said it’s only for display
It is not recommended to recover files directly to the original drive since it may results in overwriting them.
If it says "Low" under recovery chances with no preview, and "This file isn’t playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt." when I try to open the recovered file, does that pretty much mean they are not recoverable/lost for good?
It depends. Usually, when recovery chances are low you're likely to end up getting a broken file.
my files have recovered as chk files and they wont open in explorer. any advice please
Try renaming .chk files to the required file extension as .mp4, .jpg or whatever you need
Please note, that Rooting is done at your own risk, and we are not responsible for any consequences
And if you would like to scan your SD card, you need to extract it from the device and scan it on your computer directly.
Tried this and nothing was found. It seems like it doesn't even see the card. Any tips?

It was working perfectly before.

Hey, i am trying to recover the lost files by connecting charging cable to my laptop, but I can't find the drive when i open disk drill, but its visible normally in the pc
This feature is currently available only for Mac.

I recommend scanning your SD card with Disk Drill. If you can find and fully preview your files, you're welcome to proceed with recovery.

How i can get one recovery of data up to 500 mb (exactly 45 gb) for freE?
Hi, do I format the card before running the software? Or Simply run it?
Just scan the drive with Disk Drill as it is. Formatting the drive might damage the information.
@@cleverfiles ok
What is the preview doesn't even open? it just shows the mp4 icon... and chances say low. am I doomed?
Some files that can’t be fully previewed might still be recoverable, but we don’t guarantee their successful recovery. In such situations, feel free to contact CleverFiles team via email (help@cleverfiles.com) for more information about the risks associated with the recovery of damaged files.
The same here - no preview. Did you get the recovery to work Sue?
I have a brand new sd card adapter, and it won't read my problem sd card but will others. Diskdrill doesn't recognize the sd card. Any advice?
If your card is not detected by the computer, that usually means it has some hardware problems which can't be fixed by software like Disk Drill. We recommend you take that SD card to a local Data recovery center.
What if Disk Drill doesn't recognize your sd card and it isn't showing up at all????
Check if the SD card is properly connected, try different card readers, and check if it appears in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac). Update drivers or try the card in another computer. Inspect the card for physical damage and test with another SD card to isolate the issue. If the card shows up but isn't accessible, try formatting it, keeping in mind this will erase all data.
