- I built my first ever gaming PC in 2024 and but is PC gaming really better than PS5? Here are my thoughts on building a pc in 2024 and if PC is better than Playstation.

I switched from Xbox and playstation about a year ago and never going back. Once I learned mouse and keyboard I prefer it way over a controller now. Getting higher fps also feels so amazing on PC.
Oh really that's interesting because I haven't tried mouse and keyboard yet...I don't know if I'm ready for that yet haha.

@@CKidM yeah it was pretty rough for a while, but once it clicks, it feels amazing. The input is just way faster and movement is very smooth.
Warzone is controller based gameplay tho, you are at a disadvantage by playing Mouse. Aim Assist is too strong.
PC is better than console but the problem is the hacking.
Mouse and keyboard sucks!!! It just doesn’t feel right shooting clicking instead of pulling

PC has better performance and options but it suffers from heavy cheating on multiplayer games. PS5 has a more even playing field. Now it all depends on the games you play. To me PC is perfect for retro gaming/emulators and indie games or modern RTS/Strategy.
Console better suited for AAA and specially AAA multiplayer games.
So the perfect combo imo is a 500€ budget PC + PS5 or a laptop with a decent APU + PS5.
then he met Steam and found all those games he thought were just exclusive

As a PC gamer I would say this. A lot of people view PC as just an upgrade in graphics and framerate. Although those things are great there is so much more that the PC has to offer. Multiple storefronts, cheaper games and keys, universal peripheral compatibility with steam input etc, modding games, the fact that it's modular so you can swap parts in an out without buying a whole new system for an upgrade etc. Sure you need to spend a lot of money on components that offer very little no performance increase in the beginning like SSDs, ram sticks, power supplies and motherboards etc. But once you get past that stage all of your upgrades can be performance based and that's where I think the PC platform wins the value proposition argument. There is a certain freedom to the PC that a closed off platform like console ecosystems just can't match.
Powerful graphic cards alone are in the thousand. Good pc gaming is a luxury and I'll never understand those who claim good value. It is expensive, point blank. There are game sales on consoles as well especially in the physical space. Sure you can upgrade your parts, 5 years from now you'd want the latest graphic card, which will cost you more than thousand, you'd have to swipe out the cpu and many parts as well...or you can get the newest console for just 500. I'm sorry value and pc gaming don't belong in the same sentence and like I said it's a luxury.
But if you play on PC you can’t trophy hunt.
@kbthegoat824 No, it's not. You can get a good enough one for less than $500 unless you are talking about 4k gaming, but for 1080p, the 3000's GPU and even AMD 5000's is more than enough.
@@Simba365 Bro the PS5 can play 1440p upscaled to 4k 60 fps. Gaming PC outside of the 4090, or even 4070 super doesn’t make sense.
PC has one final meta that console will never have and that's the feeling of satisfaction from the build process. It's a learning process, it's a triumphant feeling, it feels like suiting up, it feels like you know what you're doing. Console will just give you an unboxing experience. and in terms of size and fitting in on your living room tv set up, what I can tell you is that PC people love putting that entire PC case on full display in the lounge.. I myself use my PC on full display in the lounge, uses up most of the space and it doesn't matter

i have both console and gaming pc. i had many gaming pcs in the last 5 years. all the time the ebst specs 4090s best cpu's etc. but as im getting older i appreciate the simplicity of a gaming console

Mouse and keyboard are king I used to play on console and controller and once I switched to pc man it was a learning curve but once you get use to it controller fell like I'm playing in slow mode.

@@CKidMa nice rule of thumb ; single player story focused (rpg) games >> controller (ps5 controller works fine on pc). Any type of shooters >> mouse & keyboard
For me whether I use controller or mouse and keyboard, it just depends on the game
I have ps5 Xbox and gaming pc was always console heavy but lately I love to play on something that I personally built and the graphics are way better than console not to mention FPS games better on a monitor rather than a tv even a 120hz tv just thought I would comment because it’s actually something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. Love your videos and just came across your channel. I am a long time console gamer and just built my first gaming PC (I have a 7800x3d and 4080 FE, and went with a full water loop cooled system) and I’m 100% with you. I’m loving PC gaming. In fact I haven’t even turned on my launch PS5 in two months. I still love the PS5 for what it is, but I’m even playing old games again because they perform so much better on my PC.

No. It does have more definition in the sense theres more control of the look but at the same time 1080p on console is so optimised and the upscalling makes it look amazing
1080p will never look better then 4k unless your playing on a 17” monitor 😅

It's an apple vs oranges comparison, as the two are fundamentally different in their approach to technology.
As PC is an open-platform it comes with the advantage of being customizable and upgradable. The downside is that this comes at the cost of lacking optimization and a streamlined experience.
Consoles are the opposite. They offer a superior optimized and streamlined experience, but this comes at the cost of being limited in their capabilities.
In the end which one is ultimately "better" is the one that caters to more to your tastes as a consumer.
Something that can be said objectively, however, is that you cannot match the performance of a PS5 or Series X for the same price with a PC. The GPU cost alone would be significantly higher. A high-end PC will outperform a PS5/Series X, but a PS5/Series X outperforms the average gaming PC. This is not debatable.
maybe if there’s was a game on PlayStation that’s not available on PC that I really want and maybe I would pick up another PlayStation at that point. They’re just aren’t any games on console that blow my mind and make me wish I had a PlayStation.
Most importantly pc players don't have to pay subscriptions fees to play online!!
So after you pay $1500 or more to build a pc and we pay 300-500. $60 to 120 a yr is nothing
@@djnes2k7those fees add up. You also don’t need to spend $1000 to get comparable hardware. Can easily be done under $700. Paying for online every year adds up. Pc also gets you cheaper games overall. Try again
We don't even buy games sometime, if we wait long enough they at some point become free.

Cuz the reality is they next gen comes out without any games to put on it we been in next gen for almost a decade and they’re just now starting to put out games specifically for next gen consoles and even then the pc already has higher specs than the consoles in general that been out for 2 decades

Thanks fam! I've been getting a lot of message around this. So basically the way the case is built it allowed me to turn the motherboard on it's side which makes the port for the GPU to be on the side which allows me to mount it that way. And I just screw it into the PCIE slot to keep it held in place. Appreciate the love fam

I prefer story games, and I don't' want to spend $2k for a gaming desktop that drastically shoots up my electric bill. Therefore, team PS5.
Although, I do have a mini-PC (35 TDP while idle) for a home desktop setup for general web browsing, video watching, work training, and paying bills.
Makes a lot of sense.

That's subjective tho depending on what games you play and where the majority of your friends are, I'm a Series X guy myself but also have a gaming PC, unfortunately only thing I play on PC is Cod, not to mention all the cheating that goes on 😂😂😂

The input latency is just so much better on PC. It definitely gives a slight edge for competitive games compared to console players having a slight input lag. I can tell difference when i go back and forth PS5/ PC
Great call out...you are 100% right....I noticed it the most when I would play COD on PS5 vs PC. Night and day difference.
Nice build but it was a mistake going with the Intel 14th gen. They are having major failure rates. Should have went with an AMD Ryzen 7800x 3D.
There is a new driver update to fix that Intel 13 & 14th gen CPUs (K & F series in particular).

Have been a console gamer for 35 years. I have had a lot of different consoles, started on Nintendo. PlayStation was the go to for a long time then went to Xbox, then back to PlayStation and now have both. At 40 years old now I feel like I have been missing out. Gunna get a pc soon. My real question would be what components do I need in a pc for a substantial difference from ps5. I was thinking ryzen 7 7800x3d with 7800x. My price range is about 2k so that’s what I could afford. Thoughts?
I play nothing but CoD. I'm on ps5 w/ethernet cable. 13-33ms 119-120fps oled c2 tv. Will switching to a high end pc make a drastic difference in in-game performance? Will the extra 100+ FPS make a noticeable difference? Will I win more gunfights particularly against pc players?
For me the audio on ps5 sounds better then my pc. When playing cod.
Now this I would 100% agree with you...the Playstation 3D audio is really good. No argument from me there.
That is cause , he did not put a dedicated sound card into pc and stuck with the onboard audio with truth be told sucks even on the highest end motherboard , put a soundblaster ae-7 into your pc or invest in a good usb dac
Also don't forget to mention You will have a much better pc experience if you're using STEAM IN BIG PICTURE MODE..& using steam input for configuration for any controller You want to use.

Nice Rig Bruh, Took me almost a full year to fully commit to PC gaming but. Now I want to play all my games on PC. Higher FPS, Way better graphics, cheaper games etc. I said never once before and I lied 😂

Thanks! Oh you should definitely build one! Yes I actually have a monitor that I'm using...that's going to be a part of my next video! But I'm using the OLED LG Monitor 4K 240Hz...spoiler it's so good!
I'm having such a hard time making the switch :( I'm a dinosaur that still enjoys seeing all my physical games on the shelf. Additionally, a few times Ive tried to play single player games that somehow wouldn't boot up unless I had a net connection ( I was on a plane with my steam deck). Someone told me this wasnt a PC issue but a digital game issue. Sucks either way
You hit the nail on the head. I initially thought I was going to take offense to your PlayStation giving up video, but after watching it I realized I had the same feelings and worries, and had already been shopping for a higher end gaming PC. I play a lot of VR and mostly wanted it for that. For the money the PS5 is the way to go, but if you can afford to game on a high end pc setup it’s a great experience. I first loaded up first descendants, as it’s free and I tried it out on the PS5. I maxed out the settings and was very impressed with the graphics. I wouldn’t say that PC is the way to go for everyone (price), but I will forever now be a duel platform gamer. Also with the flat to VR mods coming out I think that PCVR is going to surpass what’s on console. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge PlayStation fan, but damn! Quest has so many games that are awesome on PC that are still waiting, or never will come to PSVR2. Same goes for some of the PCVR titles as well. Buyer beware though, PCVR does take some tweaking for some games and other games aren’t optimized well either.

I loved my PlayStation 4 Pro back in 2016. However in that same year I switched to PC gaming and have not looked back ever since. I can respect people’s preferences however there is no real advantage that the PS5 has over PC. Graphics, framerates, mods, free online, more games, cheaper games, upgradability, emulation etc. I can even use my PC for professional applications and content creation.
And I can see why you made that switch...I'm finally seeing the light myself.
I have both PC & PS5 and without question, PC is way better. But I sure won't be giving up my PS5. I'm one that also built my own white PC. That self of accomplishment in doing that, makes me love the PC even more. Like you said though, it cost me over $3000 to build my PC custom to my taste and performance. I went Lian Li branding, which their products are off the chain.
Exactly it's something about building it yourself, you get this sense of pride when you finish although for the first time it was a challenge at times. I wanna try Lian Li fans and a case they got...they on my radar next...I might have to swing over there to Lian Li and say what's up! 🤣
@CKidM yea, Lian Li stuff is fire. Got the O11 RGB EVO case, TL LED & TL LCD fans, and their new Hydroshift AIO, which I just changed, replacing their Galahad II LCD AIO.
Im a long time console gamer. Love my ps5 with my psvr2 and portal. Im big into sim racing so finally built my first PC in February. Wow! I still use ps5 in my living room with the kids but PC is awesome. I love it more and more every day.
Talking about size did you know you can do a micro ATX build or if that is still big you can do an ITX build. So size won't matter on a pc if you got these options and that makes a pc better than a console according to me
All console games are made on a computer. Сomputers will always be more powerful than consoles.
The Long and short of PC vs council is, PC's are more involved when it comes to maintenance and performance tweaking and allow for more upgradable hardware and frequent software updates as well as the ability to control your games settings more often resulting in a more pleasurable gaming experience, councils offer simplicity for setup little to no upgradable hardware and less control over your system, however councils have a leg up with their exclusive titles (until they are brought over to PC later through third party). In the end PC's are for the people looking for something new that has a bit of early challenge but yields great reward in the end and councils are for your plug and play people who have yet to hop on the wagon at the end of the day use what makes sense for you and have fun
Your water cooler in your pc is mounted upside down. The tubes should be at the bottom or put it on the top of the case. Because the way you have it mounted your air pocket will cause premature pump wine failure and make your system run hotter. Research it might make a good video as others have 😊

Man from since I small I have been with PlayStation the pc is good but I can’t see myself using a pc anymore I’m getting my first ps5 tomorrow and I am stoked
It should also be noted that mid range pc’s exist and that’s where most of the pc community is. I have a 4070 ti and my pc was $2,600 that’s still considered high end (at least until 50 series) but a $1,000-$1,500 pc will still be a noticeable difference.

I have Pc and Ps5, I usually buy my games on Playstation first, then when the kinks are fixed play them on Pc. I have my ps5 for 4k and my Pc for 2k so it really just comes down too what games releasing and how the performance/optimization is!
The graphics and frames are much better on my PC. But the simplicity of my PS5 keeps me using it. I’m old and lazy now and I get tired of messing with all the settings and crashes and updates on PC. My hope is like you said, the PS5 Pro ups the graphics for us. Especially in 120hz modes.

I actually am trying to switch to xbox to pc even though I like both systems I like still playing them because of the games and it be easier ro have the consoles you have to play your favorite games on then having a war aslo shopping online on for gaming pcs for the games way more nicer and cheaper then the games you buy on console

My take is, if you want to be part of pc gaming and want close to the convenience of console, buy a gaming laptop. They're portable, powerful, no need for monitor, can be hooked to external screen etc..all in all it's expensive and more complicated to be a pc gamer. You spend 500 on a new console each iteration and call it a day.
I own a PS5 but I bought gaming laptop (Lenovo 9i GTX 4090) for almost $4,000 but later returned it. Performance wise it killed my PS5, especially on my LG 4K OLED. But I can’t say it was worth 8 times the cost of a PS5. Although if you factor in, PC (Desktop more than laptops) are more future proof than a console then it’s not so bad. But spending that kind of money is definitely for those with deep pockets and who are super enthusiasts.
I ended up getting an open box Lenovo 7i slim with a 4070 for $1,000 at Best Buy. Way better value that I’m happy with.

Bro, my son has a PC and he's always having to update and has a lot of bug.Issues are rather have A PS five simple Just put in disk and play. The only Reason I play on his pc is the FPS
Yep and that's exactly what I was talking about...with PC you have to stay on top of all updates or stuff will just stop working right!
@CKidM yes and some time the FPS Drops too 120 fps that's the same as ps5 . To get 200 fps or 300 u gotta spend some good money
another advantage of pc is that you can overclock your cpu and gfx card for that extra performance, depending on what cpu and gfx card you buy. as long as you can keep your components cool using water cooling or even a fully immersed pc system in mineral oil (yep that is really a thing), you can get some huge performance boosts.. PCMASTERACE FO LIFE!
Or you just buy a PS5 and play the best looking games every year. 😂😂😂😂

Been a Console gamer since NES and Sega Master System but there is one game that has me converting to PC eventually when i get all the parts i need. It's still in alpha but i believe in the project.
Star Citizen and going back to Elite Dangerous Odyssey after Dev's left Console behind. Going all out with HOSAS setup and all. Both PC exclusives that will never see the light of day on Console.

I do both, but lately my PS5 hasn’t been getting much burn. The exclusives are the reason I keep the PS5, but PC gaming is MUCH more versatile than console gaming.

As someone who's a PS player and just recently went to PC gaming earlier this year, I'm 100% in agreement with you! I love my ps5 and the wizardry they use to make the games look so damn good on that console is nothing a short of amazing but moving to PC (Because my son's are now invading my PS5) has been soooooo good. Sure you gotta tinker a little and it's not as straight forward as a PlayStation but high fps and crispy graphics is wonderful.
But you're also right on the exclusives part as well. I will never give up my PlayStation because of the exclusives. I'm not willing to wait over a year or 2 or 3 to play alot of those games so my console still has a place in my home!
Yea PC gaming was truly and eye opener! And yep them exclusive titles is Playstation's one ace in the hole plus the price point. It's more accessible for everyday people and casual gamers.

Consoles starting with Xbox are adapting steam and a lot of their games are going to be releasing on pc first day out as far as I’m concerned that alone can kill off whatever ps is “not doin” but you can google tile release dates of the only two games your waiting on from PS to come out on PC like I did and see what they say they’ll give you the same two dates I gave you.

I’m currently ps5 only, but looking to invest in a gaming pc. I’ll play exclusives on ps5, everything else on pc. I haven’t checked this yet, but I assume all games on Xbox game pass ultimate is available on pc as well?
That PC has 9700+Cuda cores (processing) dedicated for Graphics. PS5 Has some great titles and GOW is one of my favorite titles. But he can do more with the PC. I render (edit) videos, stream, run virtual servers, home automation, plex, and game on on my rig.
Think the comparison would be better if pc is the same price as ps5

Yea I use the PS DualSense Edge Pro Controller for gaming right now...but always on the lookout for something new...I actually got something I'm testing right now that could be a replacement. Stay tuned...I just can't talk about it right now as it's unreleased
@@CKidM I’ll be locked in for the video bro! Reason I asked is because I also use my ps5 controller, but for the Ally. I figured out a way to get it to work wirelessly. But it has some kinks. Didn’t know if you had the hookup.
To have a ps5 next to a gaming pc is more like a complimentary dish to the main dish for dinner. So yes, is good to have both, or steam deck and ps5.
I love having no games, paying for online, having no upgrade route, paying top dollar for games, hardly any native 4k, playing at 30fps, limited controller support, little VR support, limited customisations, no emulation, bad backwards compatability, no ultrawide support, no fsr or dlss. Console for the win 😂

Pc and consoles are apples and oranges. Obviously an expensive pc is better but if you compare a $500 pc to a ps5 the ps5 will outperform it

I’ve come to realise console are for casual. I switched from Xbox Series X to PS5 for the exclusives (and I noticed how much better the PS5 runs games) then I did my looking in Gamjng PC again the resolution increase was too much to unnoticed.
So I made the switched the other week now too. Ryzen 7 7700XD, 4070 RTX Ti and 32GB of RAM. The issue is the cost. No beating around the bush like I mentioned in my other comments. It cost me £2,000 to build it. But the difference. WOW. The only way I can explain, take a Ninento Switch game, say Batman Arkham Knight or the Witcher 3 and then play it on PS5 that is the level of fidelity difference we’re talking here.
A PS5 is equivalent to around a 2070 RTX a best. But it’s the cost and still people not understanding PC that will keep them around but you can see it coming. I don’t Xbox will last more than a few generations personally as that has no selling point now to me.

PC overall gives you a better experience for a higher initial cost which might be too much for some
Say you spend $1000 or even 1.5K on a PC thats expensive for most people
Now a console is around $550, you use it over 7 years which is $60 a year for online to play the multiplayer games you just bought. 970 is the real cost of ownership for that console generation but you dont have access to the rival consoles games which is another $550 if you want to play that and potential online costs for that too. Potentially just under 2K
Now you see that 1.5K PC allows you to play all those games at better fps, graphics etc
It plays PC games, PS games with a delay and Xbox games with gamepass PC which is also cheaper than Xbox with day 1 games

I have both an XBOX Series X and a PC but if I had to choose I would definitely go with PC but I can game at 4K 120Hz on most games on the console but love my PC especially because I built it. Which is one thing you forgot to mention if something goes wrong you can just order the part and replace it yourself versus with a console you have to send it in
I think that it isn’t really worth getting a console this generation when you can get a PC for slightly more than a console this generation, that will outperform it tremendously. I’m talking like $750-$800, a PC with that price in mind, whether you build yourself, or get a prebuilt from a place like Jawa or Newegg, will give you better performance than this console generation, and you will be able to use it for just about anything else. Specs with like the Ryzen 5600 paired with the RTX 4060, or RX 6700, are already capable of performing better than the Series X or PS5. A PC with these specs could be built as low as $650, if you take the consideration of used hardware. or if you want to go brand new hardware, it’ll only cost you $700 to $750. I’ve done this for a friend before as well, I was able to build him a PC around this price range, and he is able to run every single game flawlessly. Another thing to take to consideration, is that any PC upgradeable, so when the new console comes out with the newest games, you will have to buy it. On the other hand, I can upgrade one or two parts of the $750 build whenever I please, and be ahead of the curve, without being locked 10 years behind the next console generation, because PC hardware comes out so much more frequently.
If you have steam you can get all of those games
You can build a mini itx pc that has the same specs as your full or mid tower case and be smaller than a ps5. Throw form factor out the window. Don’t get me wrong I love my ps5 but it can’t touch my pc with its 3080ti and a 7800x3D, 32gb DDR5 @ 6000m/t.
It is when it comes to performance and Online games etc. but the stress that can come with it can be insane. Literally.. not everyone will have to experience this, but for me it was a nightmare just build a new PC and had insane loud Coil Whine, returned GPU same problem, now I have to return PSU as that seems to be the Problem. So in the end I'd say PS5 is the best option for the price, you only get a really good PC for like 1.3k+ and it can come with many problems especially if you are building yourself, as every part can be damaged and then you need to find out and so on.

Pretty build I love my pc just for the flexibility it provides. Consoles are great for travel but not much else. If you have the money pc always.

Graphics on PC is definitely better than on PS5 but Gameplay relates to the controls of the game

I've been on pc since 2018 but i own a xbox series x as well but pc is my main hands down no question currently running a Ryzen 5800x3D x 4080 FE
PC gamer. Got rid of all my consoles and their games in 2018(Xbox one, PS4, Wii U). Games are cheaper, no subscription services to play online, most exclusives from Sony comes to pc in 1-3 years, you can really customize your pc’s appearance.
I agree with most of what you said. But you build the top of the line pc people can build a nice mid range pc for around the same price of a ps5 and get good frames and graphics especially if the shop around and look for deals. But great video

I have a 4090 and like pc gaming ,but steam achievement don't hit the same as ps5 trophies.
