The Polish Lavvu (Pronounced "Lah - Voo) Poncho tent is more like £45 -£100 these days but I guess this video was made 7 years ago. The small size (1 grommet at the bottom) & the medium size (2 grommets at the bottom) are still available but the prices are going up as they have become a very bushcrafty item to own. There are also lots of youtube videos of people modding them. Size 3 (3 grommets at the bottom) the largest size is getting quite hard to find these days and is often more expensive than the small and medium size. It also seem the "Olive Drab" coloured ponchos are getting lower in stock and there now seems to be more black ones for sale. Most of the stock is from the late 70's and early 80's, mine was in pristine condition with its factory label and it is in lovely condition. I searched around and paid £45 inc vat & postage, which was a really good price. I'd advise anyone who wants to buy one to go for the "A" grade as they will be in great condition and for the most part haven't been used.
1st watched your video last year, bought my own kit from military mart and love it, Fabsiled my lavue and it's now waterproof, the bed kit is brilliant Thanks for the heads up PEACE :-)
hey bri, army kit!!! - your a man after my own heart mate ;) you know me & army kit lol - cheap, reliable, strong, hard wearing & as you said "well tested" all that for under a bullseye - WOW love the poncho/teepee idea & the magnetic hanger (never thought of that) spot on walk through video mate - as you said "tell it as it is" we all love the truth mate ;) love these video's - look forward to the next one all the best darren
I buttoned together my Czech bedroll last night. Will be putting the lavvu up in the garden later for a quick test. That magnet is a cracking idea. I'll have to look out for those. Might have to make my own if I can't buy one. I need to find a light sleep mat as I tend to walk miles before I find somewhere to sleep. I bought the karrimor predator 45. That's a cracking pack. Great video mate. Very informative. Nice to see people trying to get others involved.
just goes to show you don't need a wad of cash and a bucket full of shiny things to get out,n,about bargain chap, would be nice to see how this packs up for carrying Thanks , regards, Bob
