A normal guys view after 4 months of owning the BMW m1000r Competition
Trying the New DJI action 4
Teething problems with the mic, but I thing I've got it right now using the DJI wireless mic setup

its a awesome bike, love it, even the look of it is wow!!
Yer its summer here, the only thing it gets sometimes a bit too hot, spring and Autumn are prefect and winter isn't bad either gets to as low as about 16 when its really cold 🥶🥶but normally it sits around 20 - 25

Bike sounds much better than mine and we have the same headers.
I saw a comp pack in Sydney yesterday and felt bad for his wheels. #iwasjealous
Not sure why if we have the same headers did BMW plug your bike in and do some tweaks, after the header went on ?
what happened to the guys compo wheels ?
I miss that Sunshine Coast coastline, and the Hinterlands, as well.
Hi roger it is a beautiful place and the riding is I think one of the best places I've ridden at due to the amount of mountains it's unreal for road and bush riding and the temp is ❤❤

@@ozbiker5311 We moved out to Toowoomba...we got priced out of the Sunny, unfortunately - we were renting and looking to buy when real estate prices went nuts. So we bought a beautiful old Queenslander out in Toowoomba.

I'm from the North Eastern US, so I don't find the winters cold - except when I have to ride home from Brissy airport after sundown, which I do once a month. I need the heated gloves in the winter!
Nice review ! Thanks. I ride quite a few roads which are not in good condition and have a bumpy surface. How do you find the ride quality on a bumpy surface. (my current bike is an F750GS )

thanks for the comment if I come across really bumpy roads I put it rain or road mode
trust me they still handle beautiful but and go like nothing but softer to ride
I love this bike its probably one of the best bikes I've ever ridden

No I didn't tune it ,
BMW put the exhaust on and plugged the bike in to the diagnostic machine and did some tweaks to the tune and it run beautiful and it sounds amazing
here is Australia the bikes come fully unlocked after you run it in
I'm never one to put tunes on my bikes because it give the manufacturers a chance to void the warranty

Yer I've still got the TFC I was out on it over Christmas with my daughter , love it its a real head turn hey people always still come up to look at it even at the lights they comment
Dang can't decide between this or the Streetfighter V4 S. Gonna have to go ride both. My concern about the BMW is there are a lot of complaints on how buzzy the bars can feel making your hands numb. I had to sell my S1000 RR for just that reason. Interesting all I have heard is how fantastic the Streetfighter quick shifter is. I do love the extra features of this machine the SF doesn't have...cruise, gas gauge and hill assist. But that V4 sound is so nice!

I had the 2021 streetfighter v4s and the quick shifter was one of the worst, I've used,
it would pop false neutrals and not go into gear sometimes when you where under it,
I nearly stacked it, expecting it to kick up and it stayed in the same gear
I took it back a few times to the dealer and they made it better, but still had problems
truly I was really disappointed with the quick shifter,
The front end was fkn terrible
I took it to a suspension guy he found it was 80mm low in oil in 1 fork and 10mm high in the other,
he sorted that, but he even found the front end funny even after he tunedit
it felt like it wanted wash out under hard cornering, not planted at all
in handling the BMW in my opinion only, feels way more planted its chalk and cheese
Also if you don't put a carbon cover over the exhaust pipe that curls up under the seat there hot under seat
I would recommend 100% test ride both back to back and push both into some tight 40k corners
it would be interested in know what you thought

The BMW is a bit buzzy
I've just put grip puppies on and it helped heaps i use the grip puppies on all my bikes
I've got the 2024 1000RR competition coming in about 3 weeks🙏🙏 I cant wait for that bad girl to arrive 😊😊

Streetfighter doesn't have cruise control or heated grips. Which is why I cancelled the order for mine and went for one of these instead.

Ah yes, the Hill Start Control. A feature you never thought you needed it............until BMW put it on a motorcycle. I giggled when the dealer first told me the bike has HSC. Never gonna use it, I thought. Never gonna use it.
I disabled it for a few days on one occasion, but quickly realised that it will now be a M/C feature I probably couldn't live without.
Getting mine today....white one, not the comp. Couple of questions, any reason you dont use the quick shifter?
Also why do you have the phone on the bar instead of linked to the dash & then just leave it in a pocket?

congratulations bet your hanging I've got the 1000RR comp coming as well it meant to be hear at the end of march, hopefully
I try to use the quick shifter all the time its the best quick shifter sometimes it might be old habits from years of riding 😂😂
The only reason I have it phone on a mount is, because when ever I ride I use Waze and I like to see any warning police ahead etc
also I found with the BMW connectivity on the bike it fail sometimes even BMW where having problems setting it up to my iPhone,
I've also run a USB phone cable under the seat and tank to the phone to keep it charged, but I'm going to change that to, USB male to the bike a dual female at somewhere around the bars , so I can charge other things as well

What about of wobbly steering, blowing engine, leaking water pump? Don't you afraid of that issue? Or you just cruise slowly and don't ride at higher rev?

I play reasonably hard, I give it as much as I can without dropping it
Not sure if you've watch any of my other video
wobbly steering, I wounded up the steering damper on right hand side of the steering damper and I haven't had any issues
I had her to 280 on the weekend and it was fine
I do 240 -260 heaps and the only issue is wind
which is the same on any naked bike
regarding the blown engine, I've only heard of 2 and that was Cali Moto TV and Manni from motomillion
Manni and Bill both did work shit loads of work on the bikes and there not even mechanics
I understand Manni situation and lets face it Manni just wants to sell stuff In my opinion
BT Moto has tuned a fair few that I know off without any issues
but in saying that heaps of manufacturers have issues with motors
I've heard of one water pump leak here in Oz and that was sorted straight away
My 2024 M1000rr competition just arrive yesterday as well ( happy days waited 8mths ) 🙌🙌
I will be filming an unboxing and sag set up etc video today

What headers? Would you consider the factory titanium exhaust if buying again?

I've ordered the 2024 1000RR competition as well, and I brought the same Arrow titanium headers that I got from ebay heap cheaper there which the headers are going on the bike before I pick it up from BMW !! its going to replace the titanium standard headers on the RR comp

love the DJI Action 4
I'm just getting used to it, but so far its way Better than the gopro
The dj is easier to use you can work it from the front of back, so go to remove it if you need to change the battery with the magnetic clip but the battery seems to last for ever
it doesn't freeze, better battery life and it lighter
I use the cordless mic and and you can even adjust the gain on the camera and mic
see your still riding the husky, have you still got the 690
I'm looking at another enduro bike myself

@@ozbiker5311 yep still got 690. Way down to vic high country next Friday for 5 day ride on it with Johnny and co. Yeah my go pro 8 might have done its dash. If your recording mays well get good footage. Stable etc.
You will love the DJI if you end up getting on say Hi to Johnny and the boys for me please bud
I'm looking at getting another enduro bike myself, so I will let you know happens love to go for a ride again with all of you Steve still riding I have seen him on Johnny vids

I got BMW to put my exhaust on
because the bike will be still under warranty as they did it
They just plugged the bike in and adjusted a few thing and happy days I didn't need a tune
