  • Do You Know About Transport Mode?
    Does your Camaro keep dying after sitting for a few days?
    Do you think your car have a parasitic battery?
    Considered getting a battery tender?
    TRY TRANSPORT MODE OUT FIRST !
    In this video, I wanted to share this hidden feature about the Camaro on how to turn on Transport Mode and turn it off . I believe not too many people are aware of this feature. This feature doesn't apply only to the camaro specifically but I decided to review it on my personal vehicle because I experience battery drain\parasitic electrical drain when the car sits over time.

    For anybody trying to find the answer - Car off, hazards on, foot on break, press and hold start stop button - transport mode will show up on the screen, you’ll also get some lights on the dash it’s normal. It’s the same process for any other gm vehicle as well not just for Camaros

    • @carterstanley397
      @carterstanley397 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure if it’s just a pain for you in general to jump the car, but if you’re trying to jump it from the battery in the trunk you don’t have to. There’s an indirect terminal in the engine bay, you’ll see the positive one pretty easy and close to it is a hex shaped metal rod of sorts, that’s the ground or - terminal. Again not sure if it’s just a pain for you in general but if you were trying the trunk battery this is way easier

      I just bought a 2018 SS 1LE and have not had any problems with the battery. I already had a black and decker trickle charger so I hooked that up today. But this transport mode even looks easier to do. I wonder if it actually stops the battery drainage problems?

    I had no idea there was a transport mode. I hope it doesn't disable the door locks.

      @BLUPRINT1LE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you have the key fob the doors will be unlock when your close to the vehicle

    • @gop4usa12
      @gop4usa12 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BLUPRINT1LE That's good to know. So I take it the transport mode disables battery draining devices while leaving the more crucial stuff in operation.

    I wish I knew about this 2 months ago. I had my car in the garage for about 9 days. When I got back car was dead, thankfully my battery was under warranty and the tow to the dealer.

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad I’m here to help! There is some cars with parasitic drains coming from the factory as well which most dealers don’t want to honor and tell everyone to keep it on a battery tender

    • @melody2unes
      @melody2unes ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BLUPRINT1LE I forgot to ask I had my underglow Led Lights hooked up can they drain the battery even if the car is off? I was told it takes very little energy but I figured I would ask before hooking them back up.

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s very little energy but most setups I seen has a switch to turn them on and off but I doubt it will drain the battery that much

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes it worked for me with no issues and the battery was fine and car started up after sitting for 3-4 weeks. The dealership say it can last for 2 months without a start but I haven’t left it that long

  • @matrox
    @matrox 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can you drive normally, will it start normally? Whats the point?

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes It is safe to drive the vehicle when the vehicle is in transportation mode just some of the accessories will not function with it on. Transport mode is intended for use on vehicles that are being shipped over long distances to reserve your battery or storage

      @@BLUPRINT1LE OK thanks. Or you can disconnect the neg. Batt. term. under the hood.

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well In the Camaro the battery is in the trunk it’s not under the hood however you can jump the car underneath the hood. You can do it that way as well or get a battery tender. At the time of this video, I didn’t have a garage and discovered this. Now I have a garage and use a battery tender when gone for long periods of time

    • @matrox
      @matrox 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BLUPRINT1LE But there is a negative disconnect under the hood. I know..I own a 17 SS 6 speed. Its under the hood passenger side next to radiator. Easy access.
