Further out here in West Texas (Sonora) if a skunk acts like that I always suspect rabies. You just never know. Skunks are supposed to be pretty much nocturnal. Have dispatched several varmints during the daytime that were definitely afflicted with something. Maybe rabies, maybe distemper. Cows can sure be curious critters can't they! Great video of them acting like cows. Thanks for sharing. Ospho is good stuff.

Whatever top coat you decide on, that primer will sure help it keep from flaking off. The primer along with the Ospho were steps that I've seen skipped in the past and the paint was flaking off within just a couple of years.

Wow that skunk must have been busy to face them and run out of fuel before hand lol. The SW industrial enamel is some tough stuff. Having painted many of fences for my facility in my early days. I would recommend covering that primer asap especially with the amount of sun and UV rays Texas gets. They had SW Silverbrite Aluminum and I used it. it was very messy and didnt hold up all that well. 3-5 years was it and it faded into almost the gray you have now and eventually rusted. I would recommend SW Ind enamel in a solid color. The dark brown I used held up since 1988 on the exterior of the air handlers and cooling towers. Just a suggestion but very familiar with SW paint it is all they used regardless of price (we pay for it of course) LOL .

This past spring I sold a bunch of spray cans of grey meter marine grade spray from Sherman William's for a dollar per can, which was ridiculously cheap.
Again, sure is nice to get some help from the family. I see dark brown in your future on the fence. Texas is great to just sit outside and relax in the evening.
We painted a pool enclose from silver to black. The results were dramatic. 100% of the community agreed that it was a huge improvement. The fence disappeared and the landscape came foreword. There is a reason that 99% of classic iron work is painted black.

You didn't use it right. Paint it on, and after it dries if there is still rust reapply until it turns color. Rinse off or wipe down white powder with mineral spirits. Then use Kem Kromik primer with rust Inhibitors and then paint with Sherwin Williams Industrial
