Did he know the whole world would mourn and light up purple? Or how much we would miss him.

I was there, other side of the upstairs section. Absolutely amazing concert because we'd all queued for hours in the cold. And then had the ticke tprice reduced to 10 quid after an off-the-cuff comment on radio led to us all expecting it! To his absolute credit, P didn't hesitate in reducing the ticket price as the first few folks hit the ticket desk.
3rdeyegirl were much improved here from Montreux and they went on to become one his best experiences within the year.
Out of all my experiences since 1998, the 3rdEyeGirl concerts were right up there with other special personnel - like the One Nite Alone crew or the 2007 O2 residency band.
The atmosphere for 3rdeyegirl was some of the most joyful and unabashed. Mostly because he had become so comfortable in his own skin - and that he had been forced to slow down with age and that gave him more time to really sit on an instrument and channel the spirits through it.
A real privilege to have seen him during his last decade as much as I did.
The best to ever do it. We didnt deserve his talent to grace us and we won't ever see his like again.

we absolutely deserved his talent as well as he deserved his loyal army of fans from the very beginning, up until now, and moving forward every fan he gains that discovers his genius long after his passing... Prince was incredibly unique and we’re all blessed to have a talent of his caliber gift us his passion and music, but also record soooo much music that others can forever deep dive into his output and eventually find something that resonates with them and their soul...

but do agree... we absolutely won’t ever see anyone do it like him ever again, or at least see someone else have the cultural impact that he did... to be honest and accept the reality of someone else coming close to this level of artistry, those in power will immediately take control of it and would never allow them to move in the same manner like Prince did... they learned their lesson with him and will forever make sure that no one else takes control of their work and identity like he did... they’ll absolutely make sure to slow them down and not allow them to have a frequent output of music and work like Prince did... The man was always creating and releasing his art, regardless of what the music execs requested him not to do... hence the name change down the line....
so nowadays if someone else was somewhere near that caliber of genius, those in power will absolutely make sure that their artist doesn’t just release their music unless the label was making revenue off of it to... if they attempted to move like Prince, they’ll hit them with every cause lawsuit and retain property of all of their music, just to put it on hold until they pass away...

Greatest artist of all time. Can’t be fit into one category, into one genre, into one style . This song is underrated . He must have performed this song more then any other song from the 1999 catalog through out his career combined.

Herr Böhm ́s Purple House Thanks. Do you have any footage of the first show at the Roundhouse? It was the only time I ever saw him.

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

London, Roundhouse ?,,,,,,,no, I´m sorry ! haven´t seen any footage yet. I saw some Channel pretended to have footage from this venue but that wasn´t true, so......🥴
