This chapter is great. Not only do we get this guy’s name, but also some backstory and we watched as he and Jodio were literally fighting to the death only to cut to an airport and watch them talk about music as if they weren’t just tying to kill each other
It feels so insanely nostalgic to have a 5 members in a main cast, I loved the duos in part 7 and 8, but returning to a somewhat classic old format feels so refreshing, and the interactions between the chatacters has been one of the best in jojo ever. And so early on top of that. This group feels like a mix of part 4 and 5. Dumb kids with stands but at the same same doing crime in an organization. I can't wait to see more of their antics and how the story develops, this could potentially become one of the best jojo parts because of the chatacters alone.
My only problem with this fight is how useless some of the stand abilities are i really hope they all evolve to have some combat potential for more opportunities for big fights
@@seperatedpersonality 1. Not all Stands need to have combat potential, it’s fine to have more defensive abilities. 2. Honestly, something I'm surprised about is the way the cast interacts with Meryl Mei. She immediately shows that she has her network and knows something was off about their entire venture but still decided to give the guys a hearing to see what they knew or what happened. But not only that, in general I like how the crew is pretty much honest with her immediately. They just didn't know how to bring it up, but they were going to do it one way or another. They really put their full trust in her... So I wonder how things will get developed.
Yeah this just screams Polpo vibes to me. The main crew just works under her completely, just like how Bruno's squad did with Polpo. Actually, just a random idea I just had, maybe instead of Jodio having to kill Meryl Mei like how Giorno killed Polpo, maybe Charmingman will do the deed. Both he and Giorno are the "outsiders" to the gang that was already formed, so maybe he'll be more willing to off her since he doesn't have a history with her as of this chapter coming out
It makes me wonder if the drug bust in chapter 2 involved Meryl Mei more than we think. She said she has connections in the police and Jodio's words implied it's his first time selling outside of school. Is there a limit to her influence or did Meryl Mei set Jodio and Paco up for failure?
8:32 and that would make a lot of sense, with each of the "New" parts taking inspiration from 2 of the older ones. Part 7 had elements of 1 and 3, and 8 had elements of 2 and 4. We had already been speculating that Part 9 would be like a mix of Parts 5 and 6, so this fits nicely
One thing that noticed is that this chapter starts talking about rain, and Charming's brother disappearence seems to be related with water that shouldn' t be there. So i'm making a prediction: there will be a point where the volcano and november rain will interact (maybe a stand evolution?)
About the way Charmingman talking about the group separating and people leaving - in many of the volume/chapter covers Jodio and Dragona have been shown posing to grasp at the lava rock either simultaneously or separately, almost like like trying to take it away from one another - I have a feeling that the lava rock will at some point begin to show cracks within the groups teamwork and show little they are connected in reality, perhaps their sibling bond will begin to suffer or bigger strife will cause the group to split as the characters try to abuse the lava rock to selfishly advance their own goals and desires
I love the design of Charmingman so much. Also, I was kinda hoping the bit with the watch coming back to them would stretch out further into the part. It could have been a comical recurring bit with the watch coming back at random times, or maybe it could've been absent throughout the whole part, only to show up again in the final fight or something and somehow help them win.
I'm pretty sure that the almost shoehorned in conclusion to the watch returning to Dragona sub-plot is just Araki saying "Hey, I know this has had a lot of questions around it, and people won't shut up about it, and if it disappears for a while, people will constantly be bringing it up again or thinking it will magically save the day or something at some point, so I'm just going to nip it in the bud and get off that plot point all together", which does honestly feel like the right call to me
Regarding the Volcano and Mechanism relation, I think the lava/magma can also be considered the 'Flow that connects the world', since it flows through all around of the world in the mantle and is literally flowing, but that kind of reading taken metaphysically with fate or tao
Every main antagonist of Jojo have the "everyday" job, putting to them. Even Dio, who almost becoming a lawyer before he understands the potential of the stone mask.
people say this but if you could see the corruption in Latin America, oh man... cops that dont do anything unless you pay them, and cops paid by gangs to basically work for them...
I can’t wait till we start getting some interesting stand fights in this part. We’ve gotten a little taster already but nothing too major so far. I’m hoping to see some creative applications of the main casts stands. I really wanna see Jodio use his stand in interesting ways given that his stand isn’t a punchy ghost. It’s gonna need some very creative applications to make the fights entertaining to read/watch
One thing I noticed that I haven't seen others mention is how Dragona states how he wants to get a gift for his mother in the range of $30 , and later in the chapter this is the exact price that the watch is lowered to. Besides that, I like how Araki seems to be writing arcs that are comprised of various fights as fights in other parts were usually regarded as being their own arc with some few exceptions. It also is crazy how we were introduced to 7 stands just in this first arc alone! Can't wait to see what the next chapter sets up!
Yeah. It’s awesome how this arc is 3 stand fights spread out by lots of plot movement. Very, very organic. What are we calling this: The Japanese Managaka Heist Arc?
This definitely gives me the same vibes from Part 5 when Giorno joined the gang after his battle with Bucciarati when he spared him even though Bucciarati thought he was going to die or face death.
This chapter is so fascinating. Because of it, I would call Parts 7-9 the "Blessed Land" trilogy of JoJo, just like how Parts 1-3 are the "Stone Mask" Trilogy, and Part 4-6 are the "Stand Arrow" trilogy.
I hope Charmingman’s Stand is just called Charmingman. He already has a song title for a name, and perfect one at that, so why not name his integrated Stand after himself.
About the Lava Rock's power, I think it pulling in valuable items is more abstract than just currency. Rather, it pulls in sentimental entities as well, like loved ones.
I think the rock doesn't attract just things with monetary value, but more so things that a certain individual values most, as shown with the cats and the caviar. It just so happened that the caviar was expensive. I think that's the secret behind the lava rock, and Charmingman is going to try and use it in the future to find his brother.
i havent seen anyone bring up the fact that all 3 reboot parts are based on the concept of "luck" the same way all 6 OG parts were based on the concept of "fate", but i dont watch a lot of jojo content
I had to rewatch your last part review to get refreshed about what happened. With WSJ it's easier to keep it fresh in your head because you only have to wait a week for the chapter, or a couple days for the spoilers. But in UJ you have to wait weeks. I can definitely see some sort of corrupt police organization being the main antagonist of the part. It would continue the new universe trend of figures of authority (politicians, doctors) being villainous and antithetical to the main cast
I can't help but feel like Meryl's stand, *if* she has one, would be named after a Tchaikovsky song like "Sugar Plum Fairies" or maybe "Dancing Reed Pipes" or something like that. It would be cool if it was! We'll just have to wait a *long* time, (or *short* ).
This would be wild, but if part 9 is somewhat of a mix between 5 and 6, maybe Jodio dies or gets kidnapped halfway through the story (continuing the sibling theme of the volcano kidnappings), and then DRAGONA becomes the main character.
Since i finished all the episodes of the sub, through Stone Ocean, I found myself wanting to find places to read the manga, and found it difficult to find a source to read them for free on my android phone... i work alot, and have a hard time finding time in my routine to read, or.. figure out file browsers and shit. I wonder if it’s possible maybe Charmingman’s memories might hv been tampered with similar to Weather Report in Part 6, and Charmingman isn’t his real name but his stand’s name.
It seems quite clear how the volcano rock's power could cause trouble. A bit like an inverted calamity power, nothing will be able to prevent the effect, you can't give something to someone, because it will come back to you.
Chapter 12 feels like a perfect end cap to the first "arc" of The JOJOLands. I can't wait to see where the story heads next!! I hope we get some new enemies soon! :D
My current theory is that there’s something under the volcano that’s blessing the lava and leading to the creation of these lava rocks, and that it will involve some sort of neutral form of flow (which I believe is just objects of value being attracted by certain enviornment or factors) that is either going haywire due to the amount of the rock under the volcano, or is being utilized by someone or a group of people for their own wants.
it almost feels like tradition to see a villain turning a comrade in jojo's it's not the first time we see it, E.j: Part 1 (Speedwagon) Part 3 (kakyoin and polnareff), Part 4 (okuyasu, rohan, yuya, yukako, tamami, toshikazu and toyohiro), Part 5 (Bruno), Part 6 (FF) and Part 7 (wekapipo and Hot Pants, altough they where mostly neutral)
The thing with the watch is that it comes in a way that is within your possibilities as the guy was clearing trying to scam then sells by a appropriate price (propriate for the way is selled) and then lowers to a price within dragona reach. The police thing is just reallity. 1312
The whole section with CharmingMan's brother getting pulled into the mountain really reminds me of "The Enigma of Amigara Fault" by Junji Ito. I wonder if Araki got inspiration from that story. (Also, Meryl is totally going to be the first major antagonist imo.)
This sort of accident of slipping into natural caves or sliding into volcanoes on the ash is fairly common occurrence, esepcailly with morbid curiosity to take a peek down the edge only to lose your footing.
I definitely think hualallai volcano is a rock animal hunting ground, definitely no reason for a rock human to pull them in as that would attract attention to the volcano
With Charmings musical preferences revealed I can only assume his stands name will also be three letters. If not a hint then that is such a tease. In which case I think it would be fair to rule out those he mentioned (as well as DIO). Alternatively a shortened version like 'D4C', which it would be kind of interesting if his power was a variant of similar to Soft and Wet being a remix of Killer Queen & Crazy Diamond.
I think Meryl Mei Qi is based on Frances Yip, who "made into her own" the Sam Kapu song from 1971 and resurrected its popularity in 1982, called Chotto Matte Kudasai (Never Say Goodbye). There's another song whose writer explicitly stated that another artist now owns, made it his. And is often credited AS his. Hurt by Johnny Cash. Cash, as we know is "kane" in Japanese, the name of a Hawaiian deity.
Also it was Araki who really wanted Distant Dreamer in part 6 ED, so this tells us something about what he's listening to rn. Including new music in much of the same somber style as many of the part 9 references. I think distand Dreamer was partially a retcon kind of metaphor, to connnect part 6 with some imbued meaning that makes sense in the Steel Ball Run adaptation of JoJo 1-6.
I love how Charmingman, the first adversary in the series, is more of a straight-forward hero than any of the initial cast. Imagine this whole arc being set from his perspective instead.
2:56 Well, Morioh was no Devil's Palm but still a place under the influence of a Saint's Corpse (either Johnny's or Jesus, doesn't really matter). The final chapter also implies the reason Toru decided to carry on his operations there was because of the properties of the land, even if he didn't know yet how to exploit it. On Charmingman. I found it surprising how easy it was to accept him as part of the cast. The fact that his motivation is more sympathetic compared to the rest of the gang is a reason for that, I could almost see him as a protagonist of some other story People are already making comparisons to Polnareff and I could see Araki giving him a bit more of focus compared to the rest (not to the same extent as Pol), but I'm not yet fully sold on his stand. I know the whole team has low-power support-type stands, but Charmmy's stand really seemed like a side villain stand: a cool effect and a excuse to draw weird art. I'm curious of how Araki is going to utilize it, maybe it'll be for fakeouts like the ones PMK started pulling nearing the final arc (Ozon Baby and Ojiro's return). Great video as always! I always look forward to these when I finish a new chapter.
Yesss i agree charmingman kinda seems like turtle boi polnareff cuz of the common goal /motivation of a sibling being missing and wanting to find them .but let's see how his character builds upto maybe he turns out to be more like our French guy or maybe his own unique character personality... Who knows lol
It would be interesting to see part 9 be a mirror of part 5 with gang going up against and defeating a corrupt police force which would be opposite of how giorno had to infiltrate and take control of a large mafia group
i can be wrong, but since part 9 is alter parts 5/6, i predict that the lava rocks will be the key for requiem in this universe or a requiem alike power, but since jodio is somehow alter giorno i can see it being called requiem.
I’m hesitant on this prediction as I feel it may cause unnecessary cast bloat, but will the Wild Cat Size Trio return in a later chapter as “helpers” towards the JoGang since Paco iirc deduced they were trained and taken care by Charmie for a while? I already said this on Aeonstar’s live reaction to the chapter, but I can just smell a Mission Impossible wire scene reference should those three ever come back and help out in a Stand Heist... also each of them getting eventually attached to a certain Cat Size/the Cat Sizes just strictly listening to Charmie’s orders despite everyone else trying to befriend them just sounds cute and funny to me
All the parallels to part 5 in terms of the similarities of the 2 plots is something I noticed while reading the manga but something I haven’t really seen discussed would be the possibility of the part 9 main cast being alternate universe versions of the part 6 main cast with jodio being jolyne, dragona being Hermes, paco being emporio, usagi being f.f, and now charming man being ansui. This doesn’t feel like that far of stretch considering how different alternate universe versions of the same character can be from one another as seen with Kira in part 8. With that in mind, I feel like part 9 is a mixture of parts 5 and 6 simliar to how part 7 is a mixture of parts 1 and 2 while part 8 is a mixture of parts 3 and 4. With part 9 seemingly getting elements from the plot and setting of 5 and the characters of part 6, I’ve come up with a theory that half through part 9 a new main cast member will be introduced to either join the main cast or possible replace an existing main cast member just like in part 5 when Trish was introduced. And my theory is that the new member to be added to the part 9 main cast will be an alternate universe version of weather report since he’s the only main cast member of part 6 to not have an alternate universe version amongst the part 9 main cast.
@@xFortsMaybe he and his brother are what happens if a rock human and a human have a baby, if his brother falling into the lava is what caused the lava rocks at least
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out will explain it. OR Bigmouth Strikes Again, since he has a shark skin, samehada. I like these dignified bands like Electric Six and Weebl's Stuff.
There's a high possibility that Jodio doesn't know more than Charmingman, there's a likely possibility that Charmingman learned more with the lava tubes or saw more of Rohan's experiment results.
The editing, combined with your relaxed voice, just completes it for me. I'm pretty sure you're the one who encouraged me to start reading JoJo's, and now I'm a huge fan! It's so interesting having dumb characters that are actual kids
This part is actually amazing so far and I'm extremely excited to see where the story goes from here !! The only thing I want from this part is for Jodio and the gang to rob a casino with the Lava rock, it feels like there's so much potential in that idea and the chaos that would ensue in bringing the lava rock to a place with that much money and people. Plus it would be an interesting new location for the Jojo series
A police main antagonist would be very interesting to see in Jojo! Araki likes to have the big bad contrast with the protagonist and it would be a cool way to see Jodio develop his own sense of justice to combat a corrupt justice.
This is what concerns me about Araki. We'll either get a fantastic story about Mauka in the future with a lot of character development....or we'll never here from him again 😂😂
I want to see Jodio get locked up in jail and have a Stone Ocean arc. I would love to see him having to face a prison gang while protecting the lava rock and trying to escape
Theory time: So the part where Charmingmans brother is sucked into the lava tubes gave me huge volcano sacrifice vibes. So what if the lava rocks are a result of the "blessed land" converting humans into these rocks. Also, knowing that some rocks are magnetic, what if these rocks are composed of a persons accumulated misfortunes, which in turn attracts a positive flow or good fortune.(opposites attract) and a persons good fortune goes back into the land. However, also knowing that it is bad luck to take volcanic rocks from their original location, perhaps the longer these rocks are away from the "blessed land" the more suscepticle a person is to misfortune.

I'm expecting M.I.A. as It fits both his ability and his brother's dissapearence
Or his stand name could just be Charmingman… that’s also happened before in Jojo lol
I love how Charmingman, the first adversary in the series, is more of a straight-forward hero than any of the initial cast. Imagine this whole arc being set from his perspective instead.
2:56
Well, Morioh was no Devil's Palm but still a place under the influence of a Saint's Corpse (either Johnny's or Jesus, doesn't really matter).
Ever owns the mountain. Is maybe the main villain. Maybe jodio is having all the lava rocks in the end. Is one good theory
Have we learned what’s up with those cats yet? We’re they Charmingman‘s?
they were Charmingmans
It would be interesting to see part 9 be a mirror of part 5 with gang going up against and defeating a corrupt police force which would be opposite of how giorno had to infiltrate and take control of a large mafia group
First character they’ve introduced that I actually like
Is by using the rocks to find great treasure .
i can be wrong, but since part 9 is alter parts 5/6, i predict that the lava rocks will be the key for requiem in this universe or a requiem alike power, but since jodio is somehow alter giorno i can see it being called requiem.
I keep forgetting part 9 exists until a new chapter review drops on yt. A month is just to long for me to build hype
New Universe Narancia is the best. 😂
Just a quick question. Are you gonna do the part 8 stands explained like you did with 6 and 7?
Im still expecting the watch to play a role similar to the doorknob in mother 3
The nickname charmi is soooo cute i love it
I’m hesitant on this prediction as I feel it may cause unnecessary cast bloat, but will the Wild Cat Size Trio return in a later chapter as “helpers” towards the JoGang since Paco iirc deduced they were trained and taken care by Charmie for a while? I already said this on Aeonstar’s live reaction to the chapter, but I can just smell a Mission Impossible wire scene reference should those three ever come back and help out in a Stand Heist... also each of them getting eventually attached to a certain Cat Size/the Cat Sizes just strictly listening to Charmie’s orders despite everyone else trying to befriend them just sounds cute and funny to me
PART 9, SACRIFICE FOR THE ALGORITHIM WÒOOOOOOO
I think the lava rock drain the value of the object the further it travels
9:56 LMAOOOO😭😭😭😭
This story is finally getting interesting kind of wish that it wasn’t an entire month before each release
I wished we learned how Charmingman got his stand powers.
I think it's implied he is a natural born stand user, like the rest of the cast. As he mentioned his skin has been different since he was born.
Here when it says "No Views". Damn those notifications are fast.
I feel like every person we've met in the story so far has mentioned how pretty Dragona is. Which, they are 🤷♀️
There's a high possibility that Jodio doesn't know more than Charmingman, there's a likely possibility that Charmingman learned more with the lava tubes or saw more of Rohan's experiment results.
Your notifications always make My day! Musical miracle would be an epic stand
The editing, combined with your relaxed voice, just completes it for me. I'm pretty sure you're the one who encouraged me to start reading JoJo's, and now I'm a huge fan! It's so interesting having dumb characters that are actual kids
Really loving the plot! Thanks For all your hardwork! Hearth please ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another day with forts and jojo is an amazing day❤❤❤❤❤
This part is actually amazing so far and I'm extremely excited to see where the story goes from here !! The only thing I want from this part is for Jodio and the gang to rob a casino with the Lava rock, it feels like there's so much potential in that idea and the chaos that would ensue in bringing the lava rock to a place with that much money and people. Plus it would be an interesting new location for the Jojo series
FINALLYYYY we been waiting on this review
I hope main villain's stand name is " somewhere over the rainbow"
A police main antagonist would be very interesting to see in Jojo! Araki likes to have the big bad contrast with the protagonist and it would be a cool way to see Jodio develop his own sense of justice to combat a corrupt justice.
FINALLY! BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REVIEW! YOU'RE THE BEST 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Ah yes, my stand... Ashy skin
Nah I fucking pogged when I saw the stand name
This is what concerns me about Araki. We'll either get a fantastic story about Mauka in the future with a lot of character development....or we'll never here from him again 😂😂
Props to how this video on chapter 12 is exactly 12 minutes long.
More possible corrupt cop stories? Araki DOES do his homework for the american based Jojos
Yeah
I’m enjoying this part a lot
I want to see Jodio get locked up in jail and have a Stone Ocean arc. I would love to see him having to face a prison gang while protecting the lava rock and trying to escape
Chamingman is one of My favorite names now! The culture is on a whole other level with him right? 👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Charmingman’s stand should be called charming green
I personally think Araki is just doing a realistic portrayal of American police officers
charmingman is goated
Charmy the bee
When Araki knows how shitty and dirty 90% of cops are 😂😂😂
Theory time: So the part where Charmingmans brother is sucked into the lava tubes gave me huge volcano sacrifice vibes.
Is this even Jojo anymore? Two successful plane flights??!!
Very sus. The imposter sound was perfect.
If the Dio/Diego is the father theory is correct then them being part Brando cancels it out 😂
But my question is why does Jodio look like the battle pass?
been waiting for this review :)
What is the opening song
12 minutes for chapter 12
Part 9 villain groupe: US police (no stands, just police)
