I appreciate your video very much! You’re the first person I’ve seen on TH-cam that doesn’t have ‘perfect skin’ and your using this device. That’s incredibly helpful, to see someone w/similar, textured skin(even though yours isn’t very noticeable.) Trust me from all of the clients ive had worked on face and body the amount of perfection we think we come across does not exist. Good luck on your skin journey
Omg, watching you microneedling your lips without numbing cream! I numb everything and the lips are still brutal for me. I need your pain tolerance! 😂 Thank you for this video 🩷🩷
If you want to upgrade try the Derminator 2. It is a MUCH better machine, uses different technology and doesn’t really hurt. It’s just a little uncomfortable. I’ve never even thought about using numbing cream with this machine. Best investment ever!
I'm glad I found your channel. I noticed it about a week ago and meant to watch this video. So I'm glad it came up in my recommendations again. I've heard about how microneedling can help produce collagen and help with stretch marks. I've lost quite a bit of weight so I've wondered if it could help with loose skin on the face and arms? So I've been watching a number of videos about both microneedling and nanoneedling.
It will definitely help make the skin appear tighter and refine it, but everyone skin is different especially on the body. Depending on how extensive the stretch marks and loose skin are it can take many sessions for it to get it the way you want. Even then it will not be 100%. Hi this is my first time watching your video,I like to ask should we throw out the needles after one session like do we need to use new needles on every session? after the session how to clean the face?& when to use numb cream on skin?
yes you would throw out then the needle cartridge they are one time use. You can clean your face with a very gentle mild cleanser. Numbing cream is optional 15-20 minutes before you actually start microneedling. You will need to remove the numbing cream before you go in with the device. I hope this helps.
You can do the nose but it will be more difficult to keep a steady pace. I typically will skip the nose. for the neck it would be very similar. That would be a great video.
My first time using I wanted to get some of my acne scarring treated. I went all the way to 2.5 with a36 needle and I didn't bleed at all. Is that normal
Hi Que, can you share where did you get the Drpen? I noticed a lot of websites and not sure which one to choose from. I have deep boxcar acne scars on cheeks and also deciding between A6 and X5. I watched in penny’s video that X5 has larger gauge so it would be better for acne scar. What do you think? Thank you
Nice video thanks! How does the pen not tear skin when you drag it around skin and it’s pulsing up and down? I would have thought on the downstrokes it could tear if you move
The needles itself is going in and out at such a rapid speed and very shallow depths that it does not end up tearing the skin. Where you can get into trouble is if you have your pen set to a low speed and are move the pen too fast that might cause an issue. However when it comes to depths we are dealing with 1.2 (.5) mm on the very surface of the skin.
Thank you for the video 😊 I am an RN so I learn pretty quickly. I am in the process of researching. I see that you are using hyaluronic acid for glide and I keep reading it’s good for the skin. Is there anything else that can be used that you suggest as I tried the hyaluronic from the ordinary and I felt it made my skin dry 🫣 so I returned and it was put on while my skin was damp followed with a moisturizer. I have pretty good skin but I am seeing that I have 2 smile lines that I want gone and I’m hoping this will help. Thank you so much for your time take care!
Yes, hyaluronic is the best in my opinion to prevent allergic reactions. There is a company called BioSkin Cosmetic which has great serums for micro needling. I wish you well on your journey. If you have any more questions feel free to let me know.
off the top of my head i cannot remember i do believe i mention it in the video.....if your starting out do not go too deep its a gradual process... (.25, or .5 is a good way to start) Needle count depends on what your skin concern is. I hope this helps
For a first timer I recommend doing sections it helps you stay organized and makes sure you don’t over it in one given section. Sometimes circular people struggle with a steady hand.
If it's a gentle higher-needle count circular motion is acceptable. and I believe I am pulling across in square sections, across, up, and down. I hope that answers your question.
Dragging the pen on dry skin is a no no. The best way to tell is what you will probably feel. Just keep in mind to use enough product for proper glide and make sure the pen its perpendicular to the skin.
I would say if it’s mild scarring possibly but deeper scars not entirely there are more advanced procedures that plastic surgeons do but everything comes with risk
I will do this in sessions spaced out 4-6 weeks. Right now my skin likes about 3 sessions. I will retouch it a year from the end of those sessions. In the beginning a did more sessions because very bad scarring. Most places will have you do up to 10 sessions. This is all depending on the skin. I hope this helps.

I use a higher needle thread count in this video and its at a shallow depth. You shouldn't have bleeding, but I would advise to go to an esthetician if you are not comfortable doing it on yourself.
You can use 70% regular rubbing alcohol or you could go to Walgreens for “antiseptic skin cleanser” it doesn’t burn or smell like alcohol either will do.

I am used to micro needling and I don't go too deep so I choose not to use it. There should be a link on that video for the numbing cream that I recommended.
Sorry I went back and read the question and see where I misread. You MUST use some kind of glide. Never use this alone on dry skin. The easiest and most common serum to use is a hyaluronic acid. I hope this helps.
I actually made a video where I use a 12-needle count. It is more aggressive and you might need a numbing cream if you are sensitive but overall really great for deeper acne scarring.
You do not have to bleed. If anything it is never wise to go that invasive the first time especially if you have darker skin. You can cause hyperpigmentation if you're sensitive to skin trauma. Pink in my opinion is good 👍.
I am going to assume you're talking about the device. The tips that go on the Dr. Pen are one-time use only. So that part you take off and discard. The handle you can clean with alcohol or a CaviCide wipe. Hope this helped. ✌🏽
I am not a bleeder to begin with even when I got my nose pierced years ago it didn't really bleed. Some people are probably just more vascular and will bleed easier. Also I am not new to micro needling so my skin was very much used to it. I have deeper scars on my cheeks so the 2.0 doesn't really bother me much. Everyone skin is different in the end. I hope this helps.
Every 4-6 weeks? Isn't supposed to be once a week for 3 weeks then once a month? But I wonder if you have to do it once a month for the rest of your life?
With micro needling every 4-6 weeks. I like 6 weeks. This is to allow for healing. Nano needling is safe every 2-3 weeks. You do not have to do it the rest of your life. lol. It is typically done in a package. For micro needling it ranges up to 10 sessions to get the desired results. Nano you can do whenever you want a boost from a serum with added benefits. I usually touch up my skin once a year. I hope this helps.
hey there I usually start at a low speed and work my way up. I am used to it now but the fastest setting is what I use primarily especially on the areas that have more scarring.
That’s a really shallow depth but rule of thumb is to allow some healing time I Would say 4 weeks minimum with any depth …..nano you can do more because it’s not really needles
Greetings, for my skin type personally I do not get red easily. After something like this, I'm only red for 2 days. Now if someone is more fair skin, or has compromised skin, they might have redness for up to a week if done carefully and not over manipulated. Some people have posted super tomato-red faces and then add a peel after micro-needling yeah that should not be done if they tend to get red easily it could be a sign of more sensitive skin and they are doing more harm than good. I hope this helps.
Hello ! Can you please answer my question, i could not find cos de baha serum it is not available in my country, can i use la roche Posay hyalu B5 ? Is it a safe alternative? Please answer me . Thank u
Hello there, I checked out the ingredients it has a little too many for my liking so I would caution the use of this one for micro needling. I would just be worried if there was a reaction to the skin.
Yes, it can help. However it might take awhile since it is a larger surface area and if you keep picking. Picking is a habitual thing. Now what I would suggest is that if you have chronic ingrown hairs just go ahead and get it laser hair removal. It will help those from forming and lighten at the same time. I hope this helps.
You should be fine with circular movements as long as it is a higher needle count, and a shallow setting to start. Always make sure you have enough serum to create glide, and you'll be fine. You won't feel it too much. Let me know if you try it or if you have any other questions.
Ehhhhhh in my opinion I would say NO. Collagen is good yes but it still takes some time for your body to absorb it. Assuming you don't have any digestive issues.
I am sure it won't do too much in a negative way because there are people who take it daily, There is a rule of thumb when it comes to supplements. Collegen depending on the quality or what it might be mixed with can be a mild blood thinner. So I personally just avoid my supplements temporarily when I do procedures like this. I hope this helps. @@pattersonellen
Hello there and yes you can you just need to order the replacement heads for nano needles instead of a 12 or 36 count. They have them on their website as well.
The numbers on the pen mean how deep your going. The higher the number the deeper you go. However with needle counts the higher number the less aggressive it is. I hope that makes sense.
@@Sertilya Yes, when you are dealing with scarring especially Acne scars a lower needle count will tend to be a little bit aggressive and may cause more point needle bleeds, but you may see better results when it comes to deeper scars. 12-needle carts are also very commonly used and generally safe. A higher needle count is finer and better for product absorption, fine lines, or even delicate skin-like stretch marks. People can do damage when they go too deep on the pen's settings, which in my opinion is not necessary, and should be done by a doctor if you're going past 2.5 mm. Where people also do damage is not holding the pen correctly, and not properly lubricating the skin. The reason for not going on a deeper setting with your pen is that you tend to lose control, and can further damage the skin if not done correctly. I hope this clarifies a bit more, but if I need to I will be happy to make another video. This is also based on the type of pen I use and their cartridges. They have user suggestions for all of their cartridges.
Yes please do make a video that would be very helpful, because it’s a lot of false information out here and it’s confusing for a lot of us, and also what serums can be needled with… Thank you so much for you time
Hey! So I have the Dr Pen A6 and I am trying to get rid of a nose piercing scar.. do you think a few treatments of at home micro needling could possibly close the scar? It’s not big at all, it’s actually quite superficial because it’s internally closed, I’m just left w that small hole. In theory I think it could work? But wanted to get a skin care professional opinion?
May i ask you, my skin is easy to get hyperpigmentation from acne or mosquito bites or small wound .I even do pico laser to get rid my last acne hyperpigmentation. I want to do dermapen for my skincare (make my pore smaller, put in serums like dna salmon, get rid wrinkle, etc). Do you have suggestions what needle length of dermapen that safe for me from probability to get hyperpigmentation after the dermapen? Or i just give up from dermapen? Thank u anyway girl ❤
Hi.. I have finally been able to get acne under control and have ordered this pen. I am terrified to use the ha serum to micro needle, can I use my cerave lotion that I use to help the pen move across my face instead of Serum?
Hey there personally I wouldn't use a lotion for micro-needling there are many more ingredients that derive lotion that can be irritating to the skin especially since needles are involved. The hyaluronic acid I am using is a singular ingredient that glides well and doesn't cause irritation. Unless you get irritated when using a serum that has that.
I am not exactly sure what you mean. I do have skin problems and lots of scarring. Sometimes it is very difficult to see on camera. I will do another video to show people what I mean because I think it is a bit harder to notice. It is ok if it is not something you want to try. It is always better to go and get this done at a medical spa by a trained licensed professional such as myself. I hope this helps.
Oh no esthi! Please don't prep your skin then touch it with your fingers. Put on gloves, prep, and keep your area sanitary. Otherwise I loved your video ❤

hi! what needle do you think would work for a straight scar on the face? do you think micro needling would help? thank you :)
Yes it all depends on how deep the scar is. I have a scar on my lip it is still there but diminished.
@@Heidisspalifeit’s not too deep but it’s deeper than the surrounding skin , what needle size would you recommend to break it up quicker ?
No numbing cream?
I am used to micro needling and I don't go too deep so I choose not to use it. There should be a link on that video for the numbing cream that I recommended.
hey, can I do this without hyaluronic acid? thanks
Yes, you can ✌🏽
@@Heidisspalife thx
Make sure you use a serum of sorts for glide. Another good type of serum with added benefits would be something with peptides, or stemcells.
@@Heidisspalife so it's better not to do it without any kind of serum at all?
Sorry I went back and read the question and see where I misread. You MUST use some kind of glide. Never use this alone on dry skin. The easiest and most common serum to use is a hyaluronic acid. I hope
this helps.
Very useful !
Thabk you so much
It may possible that you teach us for body strech marks?
Thank you so much in advance...good work uwu
Yes of course there are so many other needle heads to work with.
How many pins for the pen cartridge? 2.0 is deep shoot I bleed badly but not if it’s like a 36 pin cartridge
If you’re a bleeder dont start with that depth. Start with less like .5 ….i hope this helps
What do you think of 12 needle Cartridge?
I actually made a video where I use a 12-needle count. It is more aggressive and you might need a numbing cream if you are sensitive but overall really great for deeper acne scarring.
Which set of needles did u use...16 or 36?
I believe in that video I used 36 needle count
I thought it was just me I got and used my pen yesterday. I turned pink, but no bleeding. I was confused (dark skinned)
You do not have to bleed. If anything it is never wise to go that invasive the first time especially if you have darker skin. You can cause hyperpigmentation if you're sensitive to skin trauma. Pink in my opinion is good 👍.
I am doing a touch up on my skin this week. Make sure you stay tuned. ☺️
How do you clean it afterwards ?
I am going to assume you're talking about the device. The tips that go on the Dr. Pen are one-time use only. So that part you take off and discard. The handle you can clean with alcohol or a CaviCide wipe. Hope this helped. ✌🏽
@@Heidisspalife thank you so much
Dang 2.0 on cheeks. I’m intrigued. Seems like all the other vids don’t go deep enough. .5 they bleed like crazy
How many times a week should we do this for results
Hello there, this is actually only done every 4-6 weeks. The skin needs time to heel and build collagen. This is usually done in a series.
What speed do you use?
hey there I usually start at a low speed and work my way up. I am used to it now but the fastest setting is what I use primarily especially on the areas that have more scarring.
If I’m using 0.25, online says I can do it once a week. Is this true?
That’s a really shallow depth but rule of thumb is to allow some healing time I Would say 4 weeks minimum with any depth …..nano you can do more because it’s not really needles
Hi .thnku for the video ..however I wanted to ask..doesthe redness on the face stay for few days..if yes..max how mny days ..please advise
😊😊
What you could probably do with that serum is Nano needling treatment but nothing deeper. I hope this helps.
@@Heidisspalife thank you so much i really appreciate it
@@asma.h8621 your very welcome 🙏🏻
I have dark spots on my stomach due to picking ingrown hairs , will using this help with my dark spots on my stomach ? Xx
Hi what numbing cream do you use
I do not use any, but I am not normal lol
I''m a bit afraid to try circular movements....can i try stamping instead?
You should be fine with circular movements as long as it is a higher needle count, and a shallow setting to start. Always make sure you have enough serum to create glide, and you'll be fine. You won't feel it too much. Let me know if you try it or if you have any other questions.
Do the needles need to be thrown out after every use?
Yes, they must be thrown out.
Is supposed to do circle of emotions on your whole face and forehead
I suppose 😂
I didn't think you were allowed to use vitamin C.
With nano you can or even a .25 setting
@@Heidisspalife oh perfect thanks
People never say ‘hey take a collagen supplement a few days before & after’
That would seem like a strong idea
Ehhhhhh in my opinion I would say NO. Collagen is good yes but it still takes some time for your body to absorb it. Assuming you don't have any digestive issues.
@@Heidisspalifewhats wrong with taking collagen when using it?
I am sure it won't do too much in a negative way because there are people who take it daily, There is a rule of thumb when it comes to supplements. Collegen depending on the quality or what it might be mixed with can be a mild blood thinner. So I personally just avoid my supplements temporarily when I do procedures like this. I hope this helps. @@pattersonellen
Can you nano needle with this pen? I’m trying to find a nano needling pen I’m a licensed esthetician as well
Hello there and yes you can you just need to order the replacement heads for nano needles instead of a 12 or 36 count. They have them on their website as well.
@@Heidisspalife thank u so much! We did a training while I was in school but they wanted so much for our school brand 😂😩😮💨
@@EmeraldsHoneyComb Yeah no they are mostly over priced....its all part of branding an item and then charging for it.
I’m just so confused on how the numbers work on the pen
The numbers on the pen mean how deep your going. The higher the number the deeper you go. However with needle counts the higher number the less aggressive it is. I hope that makes sense.
@@Heidisspalife ok May I ask this for a full understanding… 12 needle cartridges or more aggressive than 36 needle cartridges?
Yes please do make a video that would be very helpful, because it’s a lot of false information out here and it’s confusing for a lot of us, and also what serums can be needled with… Thank you so much for you time
@@Sertilya Yes, I will work on this project next no worries👍
You touch your face with your naked fingers after you have cleaned it with alcohol?
My hands are clean and I also spray them with Alcohol my dear. In an office setting gloves on all the time period.
@@Heidisspalife ☺👍
It could help but it won't be 100% I actually have a small nose piercing as well it is still there but barely noticeable.
Your better off with nano and even then do a test patch if your skin is more on the reactive side
Dont drag the pen. Instead tap it gently.
👍🏽
That is why I don’t wanna try even people like you with no skin problems using that
I am not exactly sure what you mean. I hope this helps.
what depth
Hey there I will make a video on that soon. All about the settings, depths, and what they are meant for.
Oh no esthi! Please don't prep your skin then touch it with your fingers. Put on gloves, prep, and keep your area sanitary. Otherwise I loved your video ❤
Thanks for the tip
