The Maverick was a Mustang? Obviously whoever created this video knows nothing about American Muscle. Not going to waste time watching the rest of it, the first segment was bad enough.

I'm sorry to hear the video didn't meet your expectations. The Maverick and Mustang are indeed distinct, and any confusion there is regrettable. We aim for accuracy and clearly missed the mark this time.
I appreciate your feedback-it helps us improve. If there are other segments or topics you’d think we should cover more accurately?

I actually like the overall video, but I think it would have been better to show it as odd and cool cars AFTER the muscle car era. I actually own a 77 olds 442. While cool looking its not a muscle car as previous versions before 74 were. I dont think they were ever meant to replace true muscle cars. As you mentioned, gas prices and govt crackdowns on emissions made it all but impossible for auto makers to recreate the true muscle car era. Good info regardless.

    • @AmericanMuscles
      @AmericanMuscles  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the insight about your '77 Olds 442-it's fascinating to hear from owners who can trace the lineage and evolution of these cars. You bring up an excellent point about how external factors like gas prices and emissions regulations shaped the automotive landscape.
What other aspects of car history or specific models do you think deserve more attention in our discussions? Looking forward to your suggestions!

There have been so many vids on the muscle car era. Maybe focus on the classoc cars that came after the Muscle car era. Like the 76 and 77 olds 442, which was really just an appearance and handling package. Then maybe the late 70s ford mustang 2 cobra version etc.
Dodge had more appearance package pickups during that period like the warlock and little red express. Hope that helps. Take care.

74 GTO and 78 Challenger are examples of trying to squeeze out dollars from great names. In context of oil embargo and emission regs it’s understandable but still greedy.

According to 90% of videos on TH-cam the mustang is the most notorious for crashing within seconds of starting a race. It's not the hundreds of drivers fault its the piss poor design of the one vehicle. When the Fox body was introduced they went to crap.

This isn't an accurate representation of early 80' and 90's cars.... the muscle car was dead in the 80s and 90s the Camaro and trans Am was the the sports car people gravitated to. Mustangs didn't exist... nobody wanted a Mustang until the fox body was unveiled and then they started to get popular again

Some BAD AI right there. We are all dumber having watched this. Where do I begin?
*The Maverick was never a Mustang.
      * The ‘78 challenger was a rebadged Mitsubishi from Japan, you can’t hardly rag on that car without mentioning that.
      * AMC never marketed the Matador as a muscle car.
      * I laughed out loud when they kept showing V8s and Z28s when talking about the Iron Duke Camaro, which sucked, but was never marketed as a muscle car. You could get non-muscle car versions of these pony cars from the very beginning.
*The entire Malibu section should be fired on into the sun.
      * Perhaps the biggest recurring problem through the whole thing, don’t tell us why something sucked back in the day and then show us extremely customized modern versions.

Bowtie guy myself. Having the roadrunner on the same list as the 78 challenger is absurd. The 78 challenger(which reminds me of a triumph)was a good pick but most of these cars was borderline at best and just lacked horsepower like the corvette, trans am, camaro, maverick and others when he could have chosen cars like the 80's nova(toyota corolla) but maybe that was to extreme.
