  • Creamy Cavatappi Pasta Recipe: If you’re looking for a delicious way to enjoy cavatappi, try our creamy cavatappi pasta recipe. It’s cheesy, comforting, and secretly nutritious! Here’s what you’ll need:
    Ingredients:
    350g cavatappi pasta
    2 tbsp for shallow frying smokie
    3 tbsp for cooking pasta
    5 slices smokie, diced
    1 large onion chopped
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 green/red/yellow belly paper
    1/2 ground black pepper
    1/2 ground oregano
    3 medium size blended tomatoes
    2 tbsp tomato sauce/ ketchup
    Salt to taste
    For the cream
    2 tbsp of oil/ butter
    2 tbsp all-purpose flour
    3 cloves minced garlic
    1 1/2 cups milk
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
    Instructions:
    1, Cook the cavatappi pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
    2, In a large skillet, cook the diced smokie over medium heat until crispy. Remove the smokie from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
    3, In a large skillet add in oil, add the chopped onions, and cook for about 1 minute until soft. Add in your minced garlic, and cook until fragrant.
    4, Add your belly pepper and cook for a minute, followed by seasoning of your choice: black pepper, oregano, and salt. After a minute add in your blended tomatoes and tomato sauce.
    5, Add your cream, cheese, and broth, and let it simmer and thicken. Add the cooked cavatappi pasta and crispy smokie to the skillet, tossing until the pasta is evenly coated in the creamy sauce.
    Serve the creamy bacon cavatappi hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
    For the cream
    In a skillet add oil or butter, followed by garlic. Sprinkle the flour stirring constantly to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the flour is lightly browned.
    Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Cook until the mixture begins to thicken, about 3-5 minutes.
    Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
    Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
