@@kenbee1957 i mean, the election hasn't even happened yet, so i would not count my chickens... But also: if you blow up all the ballot boxes, how are you going to count the votes? The people voting for this man should really take the time to consider what that actually means, you know?

I think the trashcan dressed up as a ballot box refers to the rumors (fake storys) of ballots ending up dumped in trash cans or otherwise going missing? And he sees himself taking care of that problem, removing the fake ballot box or metaphorically all that led to the "tampering" with the election. Maybe I'm wrong but it kind of seems like the Last Week Tonight show either didn't understand it or found their interpretation to be funnier lol

The fact that the Dems did not punish a single one of the Jan 6 coup ringleaders is insane. Even D e J o y is still in office, which is Biden's fault _alone._ This sends the message the insurrectionists did nothing wrong, that you can coup with impunity and that the Dems are scared because _they_ are in fact the wrongdoers. All of this is completely obvious. The Dems avoided punishing the ringleaders because they thought it would help them make political hay for the midterms. They even _funded_ some of the biggest HOP whackos on ballots up and down the country, obviously thinking they would be easy to defeat by the bland centrist candidates they prefer to run against them. That is the opposite of putting up a fight for democracy.

They claim that during Trump's term there was no war and peace in the middle east, and when you confront them with the fact that we were literally engaged in a war in the middle east for the entirety of trump's presidency, they lose their shit, call you a communist, and start screaming about hunter Biden's laptop. But I live in a red state. the people and amendments I voted for mostly lost, but my state house representative, that I got to meet a few weeks ago, won by a few hundred votes out of around 15k. She was very nice and had never been in government till now. My little niece met her and thought it was so cool that a girl could be a politician. I really think every vote counts especially in local elections. My mom couldn't vote because she was in the hospital unexpectedly, and my father couldn't because he was convicted of a felony, but I could. I was so fucking proud walking out of the polling place. They always act paranoid about 'voter fraud' even though it would be incredibly difficult to cast fraudulent votes by mail since there are multiple ways they verify the vote. (For example, the ballot number is keyed to a specific voter, and you need to give multiple forms of identification with your mail in ballot. @@justmytw0cents The reason for his cognitive impairment is not relevant to its existence. I will not remove that from the way I speak of him. It's not mean or ablist to recognize the simple fact that he has not shown he has the capacity to perform the duties of the job. Add in the fact that he and his campaign are clearly being dishonest about his recovery, and there's no way you can argue he's the better option.
They keep saying his only issue is an inability to comprehend audible speech (already a disqualifier, in my mind), but he can't make it through sentences, even when provided written questions, or worse, when reading prepared speeches from note cards or a teleprompter.
I'm sorry that makes you uncomfortable, but he is not cognitively-equipped for the job. It sucks that he had a stroke, especially when he was on the cusp of achieving a lofty goal, but reality doesn't always conform to our wishes and desires.

I did early drop off voting in AZ last week. I took the ballots for myself, my wife, and my mother in law. The drop off box was in city hall and there was a nice old lady inside handing out candy and stickers while making sure all the ballot envelopes were signed before I dropped them in. I'm not sure if that makes me a "mule" to republicans.

If the leading economy of the world will be fucked up, the waves will hit everyone in the world, as there is almost no country that is not codependent on some economic relations with the US or even just US currency. Like Turkey for example, which local currency's value is directly attached to the US dollar's. Or China, who's third of economy is directly dependent on US markets, and most of the state money are stored in dollars.
