For me, it was this episode where I realised that Buffy as a show, was something special. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the show up to this point, but this episode changed me from “I like this show” to “I LOVE this show”. An incredibly well written, well acted, and well directed piece of television. And there is so much more to come! I really hope you enjoy the ride. :)
Angel said a lot of stuff about how when you are a vampire you aren't you anymore, you are just a demon wearing a human costume. But that doesn't really add up when you look at the other vampires that we meet in the show. I think that's just him trying to deal with all the horrible stuff Angelus did.
This was said to me as a joke by a friend because I cry a lot at movies, I did not think people would take it so seriously lol. To me, I expected a sad scence with like Buffy being sad about Angel. That's it. So there were no spoilers for me
The Master called Angelus the most viscous creature he'd ever met. This kind of thing is why. Any vampire would have killed Jenny. They wouldn't have set the tableau for Giles to find.
It's a shame how many Buffy reactors get spoiled by (presumably) well meaning commenters that can't seem to help themselves. Great content, keep it up!
@Teeklin- I agree- I wish people wouldn't tell her be prepared for the next ep or bring tissues....cause you know that usually means bad things will happen. It so much better to watch something when you haven't a clue not to be prepared for something bad to happen
These people really are the worst come on. It’s one thing to watch the chase scene between Angelus and Jenny and not know what will happen. When someone tells you to bring tissues? Kind of ruins it.
Imma start going off on these people. Even their stupid little hints that think reactors are too stupid to put 2 and 2 together… like hello, you’re not being subtle at all. Like why do they insist on ruining the reactions?? Even yesterday, this happened to another reactor. Better yet, she should stop reading comments or doing uploading videos way in advance.
@@VicFrost turns out that Ed Sheeran is a huge Buffy fan :) He talks about his "unhealthy obsession with Buffy" here : th-cam.com/video/tRZXdvL-n7o/w-d-xo.html
This episode really hits hard. The set up of Giles and Jenny getting back together, to her death, and then to her body being displayed. Many reactors I have watched were in such denial that they were convinced she wasn't really dead, that she would come back somehow, even for several episodes after this.
Some people just cannot seem to help themselves with spoilers and yes, telling a reactor to have tissues ready for the next episode is definitely spoiler territory. Just keep it to yourself and let newbies experience the series/episodes as we all did back in the day as it happened, which includes the shocks and emotional twists!
Yeah. I hate how some fans have to act like that always. Even some reactors do this, from what I heard. Stop "preparing" the newbies, we know you already watched the show. It's annoying and it ruins the first time experience.

The reason Angel didn't just kill Jenny, but went to the effort to pose her body for Giles is because he is a sadist. More specifically, Angel is an emotional sadist. He delights in causing emotional trauma in others. We even calls it his extacy. That was the smile he gave when he saw Buffy and Willow hear the news.

@VicFrost Yes, Whedon and his team know exactly how to exact sweet, shocking grief from the viewer. The moment Giles discovers that Jenny is lying on his bed and DEAD, the background music hits its crescendo. That's "O Soave Fanciulla" from La Boheme, the song sung by the hero and heroine when they discover they are in love with each other. But, alas, Mimi gets deathly ill.
