I was sitting at my desk and took a break to have some coffee, this video came up as a choice, I am an avid motorcyclist (2015 Indian Roadmaster) but I never rode an adventure style bike. By the time your video was over I subscribed, liked and called my local Kawasaki dealer. He had a 2016 leftover klr650 and I bought it over the phone!!!! You have inspired me now what do I say to my girlfriend lolol.
There is some really special about this bike, it isnt fast, doesnt handle great but it is beauty in simplicity. If you ever owned a jeep you would understand. lol. It can go anywhere , fun to get dirty , if you are a wanderer like me its perfect. You can take it apart to fix with 3 tools and there are so many accessories for it because it has not changed that much in 25 years
Longrider that's true man. I'd like a pre 08 myself. I have a Suzuki dr350 right now. I have owned a KLX650C. Similar to yours, but more oriented for dirt.
Oh man. I could watch hours of this. If only I had more time to go back through all your vids I've missed. This is awesome! From the stunning scenery, great music, commentary, historical facts and action. Simply stunning the whole way.
Your feelings of a motorcycle being an uncontrolled animal was spot on. I felt those exact feelings not just two years ago after having my G650GS delivered to my work. It took me a week before I felt comfortable enough to ride it the 17 miles to my home.
I’m an Englishman living in Australia. I was lucky enough to drive through Utah on an east to west road trip and instantly fell in love with it. Stayed overnight at Moab. Very similar to a lot of the landscape that we have here down under so I’m happy. About to purchase my first KLR. Love your channel. ATB Jason.
I just clicked 100 times to see the rest of this adventure! I'm ready for more! I know I'm not your average sub, but I could watch 4 hours of this straight and not get enough. It's also helping me understand what to expect on my big bike with gear. So far I know that I won't be doing sand... and I know that my panniers need to be quick release so i can drop them at camp.
Another excellent video, narration and challenging tracks. Funny how we are kept humble by riding of pavement. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure, Tyler.
Anyone else watch this video on a new iPhone that supports 4K? I've never seen color so vivid. What perfect scenery. You live in such a beautiful area. No camera can make NJ look that good lol.
I have to admit I do blow out some colors with color correction, so everything pops a bit more... but cameras tend to be a lot more "meh" than real life, right? :)
Yes Tyler I am envious of you. The envy is in a good way though. All that access to BEAUTIFUL landscape and ridding just outside your door. Keep up the good work. God Bless ya
Always look forward to your videos the film production is always spot-on and your commentary during the video is definitely something that most if not all dual sport(ers) can relate to. Thank you for all the hard work that you do to bring something of this production value to this community!
I was in the navy stationed in Coronado, CA in the summer of 1993 when I first saw a KLR 650. I immediately connected to it feeling like this kind of bike can do ANYTHING. I think that frame of mind goes back to the 80s as a teenager getting one of, if not the first mountain bike produced, the Murry Baja, a cross between a BMX and a ten speed road bike- genius concept. Though, I never got around to getting a KLR. Bought my 1st road bike, a Suzuki Intruder in 1999 and sold it in 2003 to buy the Harley Road King I still have today. But I always thought about the possibilities of the KLR 650. Hooked up with a friend in 2015 who was trailering his KTM 250 XC-W. Weird, but cool orange bike. Had never seen one before. He clued me in on KTMs, his appreciation of them and I was hooked on that too. I morphed my desire for a KLR 650 into the performance of the KTM dirt bikes and settled on learning off roading on a cherry used 2012 KTM 500 EXC- a racing dirt bike with blinkers, lol. A lot of bike to learn on, and still learning on it, but I love it. It's my mental version of a cross between a KLR 650 and a dirt bike- street legal, a larger displacement, but relatively light and loaded with power. Love the bike, but wouldn't have had the experiences I've had with it had I not been struck by the concept of the KLR 650. Great bike.
That's one thing that I really stink at, is remembering to get the camping clips. Usually I'm trying to set things up and forget to get the camera out until it's dark, then the footage is grainy :\
Hearing you breathe heavy into your helmet reminds me of times I have done the same thing. I have also been exhausted miles away from finishing the difficult (at least for me) riding. The last time, it was loose rocks instead of the sand you faced. As a newer off-road rider on an old, heavy KLR650 I applaud your efforts. As you know... it's the hard rides that you remember!
I know this one was done a while back now Tyler but man you are just great at making these vids. Your commentary is always complementary and soothing, the music not overpowering and the scenery majestic...I love watching the genius of your vids, keep it up.
Another great video! Your videos gave me moto fever & a flood of great memories. In 1994 I bought my new XR650L and we were riding with a Kawasaki KLR650 at night in heavy sand over the woops I could see the other XR’s headlight in my mirror upright and light over the sandy bumps and the Kawasaki was having a hard time the front end looked heavy. I sympathized with the kLR rider cuz I had just sold my 91 Yamaha XT 600 which was the most roadworthy off-roader I’ve ever owned. I sold my XR650L a few years back to finish a hard tail chopper. Recently I got a Hawk 250 because it’s a cheap way to get back exploring off & on roads. my 89 heritage gets a lot of farm roads here in Vt so the Hawk lightened that strain on the old hog
Ahhh, close encounters with deer Tyler! I had bought my first bike ever late last Fall (a KLR). My first big ADV was this June as we rode out to the Canadian Rockies. About an hour from home a deer ran out and hit my front tire, I crashed on the hwy at 115km/hr. Massively lucky as I walked away from the crash. Deer...a real factor. Glad your bud didn't get clipped!
beautiful scenery, excellent video, but for me the best part was around 18:00 when the KLR was chugging like an old two-cylinder John Deere.......I love that sound, I love that bike !!!
It takes so much extra work to film and document a ride like this -- thanks for putting in the blood, sweat and time! Great editing and narration as always.
I'm always blown away by your videos and the amazing landscapes you ride through. I live in PA and have the Pocono mountains which are beautiful but nothing like that!!! Love the content keep it up.
Hey Tyler, boy is it great to be back and watching your videos again! Had to go on a brief hiatus because me and my family were moving to a new house out in the boonies here in Sacramento. But guess what? just down there is some land that looks like primo riding territory that is slotted for development. No sinage saying keep out or anything so I think I'm gonna go check it out later today. Hope the family is well and con't wait to see more from you!
When I go dualsporting on my Multistrada, there is always nervous tension and many pucker situations offroad. When I go dualsporting on my CRF230F, all stress is gone and I'm just ready for fun. Knowing I have all the extra safety margin of a dirt bike offroad makes all the difference in the world.
Lots of cool places and scenery. Excited to see the next video. Just rode through a lot of these places within the past week. Utah definitely has some cool scenery. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the video, make the next one 3 hours long.
I watch you all the time , but this is the best ever , I ride a drz and a Klr and understand slow sand ! You did awesome , it sucks . I hope you didn’t hit your legs on the hard panniers . Thank you for sharing your videos .
Man, I feel like I got a workout just watching you plow through that sand. It's crazy what difference a couple bags of weight makes. Great vid my friend!
The first time I watched this it just seemed okay. Just watched it a second time and enjoyed it much more. I might have to watch it once more. It seems to be growing on me.
Ah adventure. Where some moments you might be thinking to yourself what the hell am a doing while still pushing through. I feel your adventure man! Cant wait to see more.
So true! Frustration is temporary though... at the moment I was hating life, but looking back it was something that really pushed me and that I weirdly enjoyed :)
Totally know what your saying. Had a trip a couple of years ago that was mostly hating life at the time and though I did push through and come to appreciate the experience I also learned that we all have different risk assessment mentalities and ideas of enjoyment when riding. And that it is important to make sure your group members have a similar Idea of what the ride is going to be in order to maximize enjoyment for all which is the purpose right. I learned in that trip to make sure that in my future trips I would be as informed as possible as to what kind of trip it was going to be and that my risk assessment mentality is just as important as any others in the group and choosing to ignore it is at the potential of my own peril. Especially as I get older lol.
Quite the ride from UTAH. We're not doing the typical trip... we are going mostly offroad from Cochrane Alberta, (canada) to Hyder Ak... to go check out Salmon glacier. We will be using forestry roads and stuff we couldn't find on maps but is on google earth... It'll be an adventure for sure! Maybe join us next time! ( we are also very likely to go to Utah sometime, your videos should be endorsed by "Travel Utah"
The views were jaw-droppingly astounding! Lovin it! Your editing and content has really reached a high. Thank you. I really look forward to following your adventures.
Freakin awesome motovlog! The combination of classic motovlogging and over-voice narration is perfect. Your choice of words and music combined with these beautiful sceneries definitely makes up a beautiful story to look forward to. I'm definitely inspired now to someday go out there and start my own adventure!! Thanks a lot for this wonderful vlog. Definitely a fan now :)
WOW, what an AMAZING vid! The scripting/voice-over was perfect and the views...wow Mr. T! This is one to cast to the big screen, sit back, and grab some popcorn. You have a great eye for catching all the little nuances that makes these vids so brilliant. Looking forward to many more episodes, loved it! =0)
new rider here, you mentioned where's the adventure, that my friend is the essence of a good time. I've had many safe outings with no story to tell, the best trips are when you wonder if you'll make it back and that's an adventure. very first ride on new xt250, wife not to comfortable i ride quads not two wheelers, i intended a short safe ride to set her at ease,,,, got lost, stuck in deep sand, had to wade in lake to avoid heat stroke, left light on bike killed battery, walked 3 hours through woods when mud covered jeep emerged from middle of nowhere, it was my wife and said "have you had enough adventure for one day"
I love those Utah roads, hard to beat them anywhere in the country. That sand is brutal, I am not very good at riding in it, but I do know how fatiguing it can be at slow speeds. Eager to see the rest of the ride.
Man I can ride in sand all day and love it on a smaller bike... but I've never had a big loaded-down bike in the stuff, and it was really REALLY a lot harder than I ever thought it would be!
+eveRide ADV I had my CB500x in sand a couple of times, much less technical than some of that stuff. First time was on factory street tires, major pucker factor the first few moments. But I have kept it upright so far to date.
Iron Butts and National Parks don't go super well together because reaching that goal in the time limit usually means a necessity for high speed roads. I'd go through Zion (and some other cool places) without a time constraint... you just gotta enjoy it! :D
I vividly remember the first (and only) time I rode in deep sand. It was in Little Sahara, Oklahoma. It's an experience to say the least. I've never ridden a unicycle but I can't imaging the feeling would be much different, shifting your weight from side to side trying to maintain some semblance of balance. Fun, but unforgiving.
I usually love sandy stuff on the smaller bikes, and even on the KLR. However when it's loaded down it's an entirely different story and I paid dearly for it! Very humbling to eat crap over and over again on sand, that's for sure :)
Great flick... Being from St George myself, I know a bunch of that area. Central Utah though... nope. It would be nice to get GPS coordinates or a map DL of what some of those other dirt roads are. Thanks for posting!
Great video! If you practice sand for a week, it changes from horrible to thrilling & fun. The slower you go .. The more sand punishes you. It is counter intuitive. Keep up the inspiring vids.
Hey Tyler, man it has been a long Journey. I remember your first video I watched of you putting Holes in the first KLR exhaust to make a better sound. That was my introduction to the youtube Motorcycle Community and Today I Bought my first boots, gloves, and helmet. Now to save up for the Bike, keep up with the Videos, you are a huge inspiration. I can't wait to some day meet you and go on an Adventure!!
What an interesting adventure. I'd love to do the same, except for the sand part. That would be way too stressful for me. To go through a short, less than one mile, stretch of sand is one thing, but what you went through is too much for me to handle. Barry
I just found your channel, wow - This is such great quality work, you have done a really great job... The footage is epic, the content is exciting, the commentary is great, the sound quality is excellent. Then to think you film, edit and produce all this on your own. Great job!
Good stuff! It's not to hot with the FULL riding suit. Vented or not I'd think it's to hot. Vegas had a record hot month of June. Just look crushingly WARM! Your contently above And beyond.
Thanks! Yeah it got pretty sweaty inside the jacket. Slow-moving stuff makes it REALLY hot. After the crash I pulled it off and the sweat felt amazing!
My dad and I were riding some back roads one time and he had to lock up the brakes on his xr400 when a deer jumped in front of him. He missed it by about a foot or less.
20 minutes. a short video. awesome. I popped this up to the 72 inch screen. Good color balance, little to no washout. Good story interspersed with fantastic imagery. I thought the background music was just a little loud, even though the picks for the music were good. It was just getting interesting when it ended. bummer dude. I don't see it continue on youtube, so I will wait. TANX A ROT FER SHARING DUDE. :)
Hey thanks man! 72 inch screen?! That's awesome! I've heard that the music was a little loud from a few people, so I'll definitely be toning it down in upcoming videos.
eveRide ADV don't get me wrong. the selections were good for the scenes. but it should not dominate. it should complement. if you know what I mean. cannot wait for your next one.
I was sitting at my desk and took a break to have some coffee, this video came up as a choice, I am an avid motorcyclist (2015 Indian Roadmaster) but I never rode an adventure style bike. love the dr's great bikes too, would have considered dr650 but got a steal on 2015 leftover $4900 !
Yes! I,m also a KLR owner becose of this chanel and i love it. And becose i know other bikescan be bether for enduro riding i dont ride them:)
Great job documenting the ride. Totally got me exited to get on a bike again.
The soundtrack..is just so apt n equally mindblowing.........😇🤟🏽😈😎
Oh man. I could watch hours of this. If only I had more time to go back through all your vids I've missed.
This is awesome! From the stunning scenery, great music, commentary, historical facts and action. Simply stunning the whole way.
Thanks Mr. Aus! I was nervous about making a longer video with lots of music and not so much talking, but people seemed to be okay with that :)
Slow sand - the calm to chaos. It's good to be able to share your pain. I've been there.
The scenery's were so beautiful! Amazing journey! Enjoyed it thoroughly!
Your feelings of a motorcycle being an uncontrolled animal was spot on. I felt those exact feelings not just two years ago after having my G650GS delivered to my work. It took me a week before I felt comfortable enough to ride it the 17 miles to my home.

Tyler- you truly have a story telling and cinematography gift. This was amazing.
Thanks man! I worked for a really long time on this one so that's good to hear :)
Ohhhh maaaannnnnn ...... Zion has been on my bucket list for years .... So jealous .
Zion National Park is seriously one of the most amazing places on earth... I need to explore it more!
What an adventure!! I love seeing you and the Ol' KLR living your dreams! Well done ! Great Video Tyler, so enjoyable to watch!
Absolutely awesome! TV-Show quality stuff, or even movie! Keep up the good work! Brilliant!
Thanks so much! I don't think the quality is there yet, but I'm practicing and always trying to learn. Someday I hope to make a movie :)
eveRide ADV I believe you will make a really good epic movie! Keep up the good work! Loads of people enjoy your content :)
I just clicked 100 times to see the rest of this adventure! I'm ready for more! I know I'm not your average sub, but I could watch 4 hours of this straight and not get enough. Another excellent video, narration and challenging tracks. Funny how we are kept humble by riding of pavement. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure, Tyler.
Hey thanks so much! Yeah I was DEFINITELY humbled on this one. You'll see in the next video... I had to throw in the towel.
Thanks Stephen! Yeah I really am blessed to live here and to be able to enjoy such an amazing landscape!
your videos are the best on the big TV with popcorn! can't wait for the rest of the ADV!
As long as the Popcorn doesn't get in your teeth, right? hahhaha :D
😜
@@eveRide Do you think the Suzuki V-Strim 1000 is better for this rides than the KLR 650?
Always look forward to your videos the film production is always spot-on and your commentary during the video is definitely something that most if not all dual sport(ers) can relate to. Thank you for all the hard work that you do to bring something of this production value to this community!
I was in the navy stationed in Coronado, CA in the summer of 1993 when I first saw a KLR 650. I immediately connected to it feeling like this kind of bike can do ANYTHING. Seeing videos like this in my home state (Utah) make me really want to get into ADV riding
Definitely one of the best motorcycle channels out there. You deserve 10x the subs!
Very scenic! Can't wait for more!
I wish I could have stopped by your place in Nephi but the light was running a little low and I thought I might camp in Payson canyon. Next time!!
Sounds great would be great to catch up things. Stop by anytime!
SO MUCH Cinema!!! Ty man, you have gone from TH-camr to filmmaker. Seriously good stuff there. Can't wait for the rest of the story.
Thanks so much! I need to get back up there with you and hit some of those shaaaady singletracks again!
I like it! Ridden most of those roads,, beautiful photography!
It takes so much extra work to film and document a ride like this -- thanks for putting in the blood, sweat and time! Great editing and narration as always.
I love my Scotts steering stabilizer I have one on both my bikes and on my quads couldn't live without them

Amazing video! A perfect mix of music and dialog along with excellent videography held my attention from beginning to end.
That's good! I took a risk by making a pretty long video with this one, but that's what I was hoping for! Thanks Steve :)
you make some quality videos. I'm just now trying to get into the sport and this even more so encourages me.
Thanks Tyler, that was amazing to watch and thoroughly enjoyable, we loved it!

Great 1st episode! I find even when things do go wrong, it's still a great ride!
It sure is! It was a massively satisfying experience over all, and really humbling!
excellent - good effort! XR650R rules!
This looks fantastic !
Awesome video. Cant wait for the next part!

Thanks! I'm working on the next expisode already :)
awesome stuff. wish i had access to that kind of scenery. rock on and keep em coming!

I plan on doing an Iron Butt and riding through Zion is on the map. Looks beautiful! Another amazing video!
You're an amazing story teller, I'm loving the video
Hey thanks dude! I've still got one of your latest Hare Scramble videos to catch up on!
awesome, can't wait for the next vid! keep them going.
So Beautiful so nice I love this Amazing Nature
Great video Tyler - look forward to seeing the rest
Awesome. Great Video!!! Hopefully more to come
Most definitely! Next weekend I'll finish up the short series. :)
really cool adventuring! epic scenery! good luck!
Thanks!
you are great man !!! The best adventure enduro chanel on youtube :-)
Awesome video! Wish I lived closer to catch up and ride with you. Looked like an epic ride.
looks like a sick trip. I think my next bike might be for ADV riding
I so want to do that route. Good stuff as always.
Thanks! It's a good route for sure!
That was the fastest 20 minute video I've ever seen. I need more!!! What happens next????
Lots of sweat and tears :D haha!
More!!! Need more!!!
great film!!! shadetree sent me.. glad he did! you are very good at this thing! looking forward to more to come!
Hey thanks so much! Love me some Shadetree :D
That is AWESOME news! I'm really stoked for you! Which bike??
More than likely a Honda Shadow to Start out. I'd love to move into a dual sport later in life but they are so dang tall!
Great job!
Wow, what a ride! I feel for you bud, that stuff is HARD! Can't wait to get on to the next episode.......(great photography once again by the way)....
Ugh - Sand..... Can't wait for the completion.
Sand is usually SO fun to me! Loaded down... man it seriously humbled me in some serious ways!
Great video as ever
Loving the scenery
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed :)
love it, we need to get our two tractors together this fall ;)
Hey Everide I wasn`t that far from you this weekend... I took my KLR to the Lehman caves in Baker, Nv...
Right on! hope you had an awesome time!
Zion is amazing. I'm gonna share that place with the family soon
I need to get off the beaten path and hike around in Zion more... it's truly an amazing place.
+eveRide ADV I did that as a kid with the family you should take yours, they would love it
Nice riding you guys got there for sure!! :)
as always you leave me wanting more.
I guess that's a good thing when it comes to videos :)
great video looks amazing. ill be waiting for to see what happened next
Man that ride thru Zion was awesome.. I need to do that.
We most definitely do! I'm putting a new clutch cable in the KLR and we'll do Zion one of these days.
eveRide ADV Can't wait. living so close I'm an idiot for not already doing it.
Man that was a hard fall, here In Nova Scotia we don't have sand, Just trees that jump out in front of you lol
That's one of the good parts about sand, though... it's doesn't hurt that bad to fall in :) Hitting a leg on the bars, though... that does hurt! :D
Epic, thanks for sharing
You're always welcome!
My dad and I were riding some back roads one time and he had to lock up the brakes on his xr400 when a deer jumped in front of him. He missed it by about a foot or less.
Oye I thought Justin would be crashing for sure! His bike was sideways for a few seconds and somehow, with all that luggage, he kept it up!
20 minutes. a short video.
Well done, Awesome video.
