Honda should make you the spokesman for the Goldwing.
Chris this is the first I hear of this Chinese Bike, Goldwing Killer my ass, as soon as you said China I lost interest, mainly cause of the rip-off reputation China has for copying (stealing ideas) products and replicating at a much cheaper price and lower quality, so for that reason alone i would not give this bike a second look or consideration, where a Japanese products are genuine and well built, be it cars, electronics, motorcycles or what have you, Japan has my respect and loyalty....Javi G.
Other bike makers over the years, has always tried to dethrone the Honda Goldwing. To date, no one has been able to match the reputation and reliability NO ONE!! Awesome video Chris. You should be a spokes person for Honda. 👍🏻⭐️🇺🇸
The new china bike will not push GW off the top of the list. It may inspire Honda to come up with improvements for the GW.
The Chinese have no dealership support in the US.... very important for any brand.
Leave it up to your congress and some empty pockets, and I promise you they will😢
Chinese food is reliable 😂
Maybe not a motorcycle, but china makes one of the best high speed train goind 400mph.. they also sell a lot of slower trains to the USA
Chris
That's why I traded up to a Goldwing. And I've never looked back. Fantastic bike. I don't think the new one will take the title from the Goldwing. Great video man.
The tarrifs will be crazy with the current situation with us and China relationship
Goldwing rule
Totally agree
Honda Goldwing Cadillac of motorcycles, too each his own I got the Wing fever. Safe travels Chris. ARKANSAS Badlands 🎉🎉🎉
I am with you Chris, i am sticking with my wings. And my honda vtx 1300.
Customer’s trust of products comes with time. Honda’s track record of performance is legendary. It’s been earned. From personal jet aircraft to Podium winning Formula One engines, MotoGP and Motocross machines to the ultimate long distance touring machine the Honda Gold Wing. Starting with it’s Accords & Civics, the Gold Wing now in it’s 50th needs no introduction. When Indian finally got itself together after several starts and restarts with the vision & stability offered by it’s parent company Polaris has finally found it’s way. I’m sure it’s slapped Harley Davidson out of it’s complacency over many years. However Indian is still in catch up mode with it’s dealership network. A new brand will face major hurdles breaking into a competitive help by iconic brands with track records & proven history. It will need much time to build a dealership network with qualified technical services. Because a warranty is only as good as the paper it’s written on if it’s difficult to be serviced. It would need much time to demonstrate it’s reliability. At the price of these large touring bikes time is paramount to “proof of concept”. Competition is good for everyone. Time in the market is the ultimate truth serum.
Chris this is my second Honda Goldwing Tour and I can’t find a reason to ride anything else. You are right….as they say you can lay your hat on the Honda Goldwing. Stay safe my brother!
Chris, you know my story because it is my testimony . I have had the pleasure of riding a 1975, 1978, 1998, 2012, and 2023 Goldwing. The 1975 was my Dad’s bike and when I rode it l was hooked !!! Not one of the bikes mentioned ever had a problem. The Goldwing is the best bike on the road !!! However, my favorite generation was the 1500 SE overall. The new bikes are more attractive in their styling and they have the newest
technology but for overall comfort and reliability the 1500 SE was the true King of the road in its day….In my opinion!!! Jumper
Hey Chris, I've had a '22 non-tour DCT for almost a month and I am now a life time Goldwing owner. I'll keep my '78 Harley Lowrider that I bought new and the '23 Honda Rebel 1100T DCT that I've had since February. But for the heavy work, I'll take the Goldwing since I'll be setting it up for pulling a trailer.
Spot on C' - Bought my 2019 Bagger DCT in 21' still in the crate from a dealer in Vegas at a huge discount - When my 3 year warranty was up I went the extended route - can't beat Honda baby'
I have a 2023 gold wing tour DCT this is my first gold wing and Chris I can tell you I will never give this bike up I am gonna ride it and keep it till it dies can't run no more lol that's how much I love this bike
No service support in place for this company in the USA..
You’re making great points and hope the biking population listens to reason. You’re honest with your comments.
No way you spoke what i say to my friends. Very well said be safe out there Cris
😊
Chris, to be honest the first time I saw a picture of the Chinese bike, I about flipped my cookie. The photo showed the black and gold color. The reason I was so excited……I thought it was the next Goldwing. Damn it!! China has always been good at copying OUR stuff or in this case, Japans. Those dudes listened to those that voiced their disappointment in those short comings that you listed. Additionally, they took the good parts off almost ALL the good looks and stuff that other bikes have to appeal to everybody. These dudes think they are slick. I’m not buying it.
I have a 2024 goldwing man. I had Yamah bikes all my life. I'm 45 years old and finally got what I want . Best bike out right now .All my friends have Harley but can't even compare their bikes all ways in shops
Chris in my book the Honda main messed up is making the Goldwing smaller I have a 2018 Honda Goldwing trike, and I love it to death big bike now in this new bike comes to America. I will get one and the reason is is a big bike . And the liability Honda from cars, motorcycles and engines is not as good as they used to be I am from Chesapeake Virginia if I’m correct, not too far from storm chaser. Hope to meet up with him and you this year.
Btw, I wanna add, its pretty amazing that Goldwing being the premier flagship of touring motorcycles. If this new competitor is all that it claims 2 offer, its what I wld have expected r hoped that goldwing wld have presented 4 us, particularly w/ this being its 50th anniversary year. Why is goldwing lagging on some of its features?
I bought my first Goldwing new in 1981. Loved the bike, but sold it and went to Harley back then. Now I'm also an owner of a 2022 Goldwing. I had been a Harley rider/owner for 40 years, but soon after I bought the Goldwing, I sold my 09 Harley Road Glide. The Honda does everything better except make noise and attract girls, but at my age now, that's not a factor in my riding. I do have a small complaint that the Honda is way complicated and difficult to work on, and if something were to go wrong with the DCT or engine, I'd be totally lost and have to pay big bucks to take it to the dealer.
I bought my 2016 in 2019. Still in crate. Came with warranty like you said.
I have had several honda bikes and never had a problem with them as long as I owned them most honda bikes are bullet proof especially the gold wing you still see 30 plus yr old gold wings on the road that's amazing and tons of 20 plus yr old gold wings still running strong
Love my 94 1500se. Will be buying a '25 from Southern Honda. And keeping Mt 94
Now you’re talking Team!
Goldwing #6 ('23 dct)
Had a lot of other bikes. I like a lot of other bikes.
Ain't nothing gonna replace the Goldwing!
Come on...50 years of the most reliable motorcycle ever built. No brainer.
If you travel and tour it’s about dealership numbers/locations in the event of a breakdown requiring servicing. That’s why when I decided to do Florida Keys, Sturgis, Laconia, etc. the only manufacturer meeting those requirements was Harley-Davidson. Just not enough Honda dealers that can service a Wing (ATV’s, off-road, mid-size street but, how many have serviced Wings). Many Honda dealers don’t even sell Wings.
I just bought my first Goldwing . I was able to get a 8 year warranty unlimited mile.
been saying the same thing... getting a bigger bike, massive engine, lots of technology from a company that hasn't doen this before, or every had a DCT transmission, and its not proven... you really want to take that and run up and down the road? I would never buy something like that. I would want to see the bike prove itself dependable for a few years first.
Honda offer an inferior warranty to this in Australia. Two years only and from date of registration. So, the demo bikes warranty starts expiring while the bike is at the dealers. So, given Honda do not treat its global customers the same way, should we not speculate on this? Lift your game Honda.
I've owned goldwings many of them I prefer the Yamaha venture. I've had hyosung which everyone said was junk and it's more reliable than my jobs shadow. The goldwings will always be a reliable but if this bike is 15k or so I'm buying it. Y'all continue to say goldwings are king but many folks would disagree. I've never had any problems with my venture and I don't baby it . Bike is a bike I like different bikes different companies and different bikes for different riding, but when it comes out I'll be getting one because great Wall motors has been around for a long time and they produce more cars than Suzuki,Volvo, and others and they are known for reliability. But to each their own
If the photos of that new bike are accurate the rake looks far too aggressive. There is no way that bike will handle well with that chopper rake.
I bought mine at Southern Powersport too. Enjoy your journey my man
In 2021 I purchased my Honda Goldwing from Sounthern Honda Powersports, it was a very smart decision!
Motorcycle Mitch baby!!!@chriscaliente5033
Great Job on this video Chris.
I don’t even have any interest in a motorcycle other than a Honda
Right on!
Great Vid Chris!!! I like all of the Goldwings from the Aspencade on up to the brand new one that’s about to come out. “Reliability” is paramount for myself. Don’t ride much but my 2005 will still crank up and ride at the drop of a dime.
I am a Harley Davidson owner and Rider. But nothing is going To beat the Reliability of a Honda.
I have owned many Hondas through the years No, complaints with any of them.
I still have a Honda 4 Wheeler in the garage.
Be careful, ride safe.
Goldwing for life! I too like the reliability of the Honda Product. Reliability beats LOOKS all day every day!
Nice video keep up the good work Chris
Yes sir they practice improving daily
It looks like an interesting bike. The problem is it’s too big and too heavy. I’m not saying there’s not a lot of lard asses out there might find this bike just perfect. After riding lots of big bikes over the years I find the lighter ones are better. After they put the new Goldwing on a diet and dropped 90 pounds off of it I bought one. Spectacular motorcycle.
I miss my 1500 aspencade. I should have kept that bike.
Totally agreed with you. GWM is a new comer not only motorcycle manufacturer but also car industry. Honda has developed Goldwing since 1974 even it hasn't been perfectly designed but in term of reliability it's No.1 in my point of view. I've never have to prepair my bike for a long trip as I do maintenance as it was written in user manual and never had any issue during the trip. The most important thing is the Chinese law isn't friendly to motorbike. They have a destroy policy to motorbike when they reach 13 years. Then do you think the country which has this policy will make a very long life motorcycle to the market?
Tarrifs from China will keep that bad boy at bay. Probably won't make it this side of the world. Peace Chris. Great vid.
Warranty. That's why I've never considered a Ducati with their one year warranty!
to be honest I like the looks of the "killer", and I would never say never. But there are many many unanswered questions, and it would need a few years to prove itself before I would seriously consider buying a used one😅
Chris,
Like yourself I own two Honda Goldwing's. Both are Hotrod Yellow and trike conversions 2002 model and 2019 DCT Automatic. Wouldn't have any other bike. Goldwing is #1 in touring bikes and every other bike company knows it, including Harley. That Chinese Goldwing knockoff isn't touching the true Goldwing. Peace to you my friend from Clinton, TN.
Next thing you know Chris will have one sitting in his garage 😂
You actually made me laugh!
Thank u my young brother! My sentiments exactly, well said!
Thanks!
Hondas reputation for reliability is second to none, the new shaped wing is ideal for some, but the pre 18 are better for touring for some too,why can’t Honda make a touring wing alongside the sporty wing, Honda slipped up…. 👍🇬🇧
My sentiments exactly!
I would like to see this bike!!
Chris great video!
Chris that was my first question is how reliable is it going to be? I'll wait for everyone else to take it through the paces, and see if your they are left on the side of the road with it. Yes Yes warranty is a MAJOR factor if the company stands behind their product, and that says it all like the reputation of Toyota everyone knows about a TOY vs any other vehicle out there. NOPE I'll stay with my 2008 Goldwing that took me from Louisville to Colorado with NO fatigue, and NO issues with the bike, and get this stock seat.
Honda will continue to sell Gold Wings as they make all their US dealers take at least one to sell.
Thanks for the video. Sold my 2016 Harley Road Glide and bought a 2024 Goldwing. It’s the best bike I ever rode. Should’ve bought one before. Nothing against Harley, but the Goldwing is a superior bike
Thanks for sharing 🎉
What sort of dealer network? How many parts warehouses? For this kind of expense, there are too many unanswered questions. My 1980 & 2013 Wings look better everyday, thank you,
" GoldWing killer " No chance anything from china could be as good as a Japanese bike, let alone a Wing !
I bet that Chinese bike is every bit as good as a gold wing that's dam near what everybody drives over there is mopeds and motorcycles. It will be like Cfmoto and gain ground over here.
There will be no other bike close to the gold wing , no matter how that thing look
😊❤ and I'm out in a big truck had the Indiana
Have 09 135k been across country many times light bulbs and a pair of starter relays tires brakes
NEVER BROKE ONCE
Hey Chris
I hope they put car tires on it because I can't find the 180 60 16s anywhere
100% agree with your thoughts! I see you are using a X360 camera. What new sound process are you using? Thanks
Regardless what you say, I want that bike
ME TOO
Great video. What camera are you using
Let the people that call it a Goldwing killer go buy it. History of the Honda speaks for itself. I am not interested in any other motorcycles other than my Goldwing. So for me enough said
HD or Nothin! 😂😂
Great video. What camera are you using ?
I have top speed issues 2023 dct Goldwing 115 mph. Chris I got five year extended warranty for 1100.00$ April 18,2024
From what i have been told from 2022 on they have a speed limiter on them for 112 mph . Sorry , my 2003 Wing still runs about 130 😅
True about the speed limiter but that is a setting in the ecm (electronic/engine control module). You can have it flashed/tuned to raise that value or even remove it plus have other changes made. Does it void warranty? Maybe but only if they find it. However, Goldwings have a reputation of being very reliable so not an issue.
I bought my 03, with 29k in 2015, now as of July 2024, I'm at 112k. Had to replace computer brain or whatever that part is. At 700.00 and shocks, replaced with traxxion shocks 1,300.00
And that's 82,000mikes later. And I'm 54 years old. Wing for life baby.
Maybe you mis spoke my 2023 gold wing came with dealer 3 yr and I was able to purchase a 5 yr extended warranty which covers 8 yrs 3 from honda plus 5 yr extended from honda for a total of 8yrs
Awesome guy 👍🏼
Honda has the dealer network, if anything happens anywhere out on the road, there is a dealer near by
Cris that bike will be bought by someone with mo Ty to play with something new that’s not tested yet.
Guys like me can’t do that. We will have to see it come out , and let time will tell.
I Enjoy your. Videos and i have two Harley Davidson. But I am buying a new Goldwing. With the Dct transmission. I enjoy my Harley Davidson. But I am getting older and just wanted more comfort and performance. And the smooth ride.
Good choice!
🌿 LOVE FROM MISSISSIPPI USA 🇺🇲
Goldwing is the best this big bo from LA
Honda's reputation for reliability is 2nd to none. But allow me to be the Devil's advocate here. If GWM were able to get that bike into the American market at a price point that is half or even less than that of the Goldwings there would definitely be a demand for it. Goldwings are priced way out of most people's affordability. Getting a knockoff would be a game changer but only to the point of reliability. Do I think that will happen? Not very likely but stranger things have happened. Thanks Chris, David from Ontario Canada.
HD 2 years unlimited miles. HD extended 7 years unlimited miles
Great video Chris. I guess the sales motto for all new touring bikes is "The Goldwing Killer". Now 2024 Yamaha Star Venture is being dubbed the Goldwing Killer. They will all fall like dominos. My big body 2010 is still running like new and is not even competing for the title. The Wing created the throne!
th-cam.com/video/h70WLSdSviw/w-d-xo.html
Great video! I just have 2 questions: How many years is the Honda warranty and is there a limit to the miles?
3 yrs unlimited miles
Goldwing all the way.
Anooooo 😊
Your phone has GPS
True but the level 3 Goldwing also had ABS whereas the Level 1 did not.
Yamaha star venture. Check it out!
Man I'm so tired of hearing about this China s2000 p.o.c it will never make it in the US
Probably get parts from Temu😅
I don't care how nice it is, how powerful it is or how cheap it is. Because the last part is all that matters. No matter the price, it will be cheap.
6:47pm
How long time most wait in Finland
Chris, gonna be nosey. Are you using the X360 and how are u doing audio thru your helmet?
My goldwing dct problem gearbox???
Number 1
I don’t think they will sell many. Too risky an investment. I’ll stick to my Goldwing. But I will say Honda better pay attention.
I doubt any manufacturer can touch the gold wing. The very idea of a Chinese company even making a motorcycle that can reach 40% the reliability of a gold wing is absurd.
Usually absolutely love your stuff Chris, but you've continued a total non-story pushed by the manufacturer. We just can't read any more nonsense in Goldwing forums about a non-bike that no one is interested in.
DCT. Wins in the end
The king is dead. Long live the new king,
There's no chance that will beat the goldwing
Look Chris… 50 years of reliability. It’s called. HONDA GOLDWING. Enough said my brother. There is no other bike on the road hands down, thst can match Hondas reputation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇺🇸
A good name is worth more than riches. 50 years of reliable Honda Goldwings and many of them are still on the road this very day!
And will I trade my Honda Goldwing in for the new bike no but if they buy come to America, I will get one I love big bikes
