Many years ago, God gave the commandments to Moses. The very first commandment is “I am the Lord your God. Do not have strange gods before Me.” Although other religions may offer a path to be a better person and therefore lead the believer towards God, we can only be saved by our belief in Jesus Christ. This is the point that must be stressed to people of other religions.
Unfortunately, Pope Francis thinks that proselytizing is wrong because he thinks that it causes disunity not unity. The Missionary Spirit is considered to be wrong in this time in history. It is so sad.

Pope Francis meant what he said. He said said it a couple of times quite clearly. I understand Italian and it's not a question of misinterpretation. He was very upbeat about this and he enjoyed trying to engage the audience to participate. It was a dark day for the only Church founded by the Lord Himself, without which salvation is not possible. This new synodal church with the new ecclesiology considers all that happened before Vatican II to be outdated. The nuncio Christophe Pierre said as much in an interview. The Deposit of Faith that Bishop Strickland defends is not important for this unbelieving crowd of bishops and cardinals and priests all across the planet.

The Catholic Church recognises in other religions that search among shadows and images, for the God that is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus , the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life. Non Christains can be saved (CC 1260) Critics of the Pope need to read Lumen Gentium 16 to educate themselves on the nuanced teaching of the Church in regards salvation

We Christians do not have the monopoly and decision of who Jesus chooses to forgive. If this is the case, no human can enter Heaven on their own without the help of Christ. Bishop Strickland needs to review the texts and teachings and stop receiving the Eucharist.
Pope Francis, when he made this statement, was speaking to people of other religions. He may have been trying to convince those people that Catholicism is the one true religion; this is very difficult because people born in other religions tend to reject other religions. Therefore, in order to avoid people of other religions to immediately reject what he was saying, Pope Francis may have said that your religion also leads to God. To continue the process of converting people other religions, this may be acceptable but he, during the discussion must emphasize the fact that it is only through Jesus Christ is salvation available.

The minimum requirements of salvation is to do good and avoid evil, serving others in need and avoid doing harmful to others. The path to God is narrow. Our pope spoke about a wide path which is heresy. However, the Catholic church has survived bad priests, bad bishops, bad popes and Martin Luther and his disciples for over 2000 years. It will survive this pope.
How do you know? Many types of followers of Christ are firmly convinced that their view of faith is the only correct one. That people who think they should follow Jesus Christ in a fundamentally different way can never enter heaven. There are hundreds of essentially different ways of believing. There are also different types of believers within the Catholic Church who denounce each other. It is often said that if you are for... then you are not a real Catholic. For example, the dots could say 'abortion' or 'a woman as a priest'. The thought that other types of believers can also enter heaven is almost intolerable. This stubborn "my faith is the only sanctifying" group cannot provide convincing evidence for their view. This is true because there are millions of people honestly searching for the best arguments for their belief or disbelief and if there were convincing evidence for a belief there would be no religious disputes.

There are too many evils inside the Church. If the Bishops, priests, nuns don't even understand what the Pope said in an inter-religious dialog, then what can laymen people hope? We in Asia we live in pluribum in Unicum, unity in plurality. As a Catholic we know clearly that Allah of the Quran is not our God. But we did appreciated the deep and soft language of Pope. I don't hope my Muslims friends said to me, according to my Quran I have to fight and kill you if don't submit to my Allah...However we in Asia, the Church are growing up year by year, not fall down like in European countries.

The Catholic Church recognises in other religions that search among shadows and images, for the God that is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus , the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life.

We Christians do not have the monopoly and decision of who Jesus chooses to forgive. If this is the case, no human can enter Heaven on their own without the help of Christ. Bishop Strickland needs to review the texts and teachings and stop receiving the Eucharist.
Pope Francis, when he made this statement, was speaking to people of other religions. He may have been trying to convince those people that Catholicism is the one true religion; this is very difficult because people born in other religions tend to reject other religions. Therefore, in order to avoid people of other religions to immediately reject what he was saying, Pope Francis may have said that your religion also leads to God. To continue the process of converting people other religions, this may be acceptable but he, during the discussion must emphasize the fact that it is only through Jesus Christ is salvation available.

There are hundreds of essentially different ways of believing. There are also different types of believers within the Catholic Church who denounce each other. It is often said that if you are for... then you are not a real Catholic. For example, the dots could say 'abortion' or 'a woman as a priest'. The thought that other types of believers can also enter heaven is almost intolerable.
This stubborn "my faith is the only sanctifying" group cannot provide convincing evidence for their view. This is true because there are millions of people honestly searching for the best arguments for their belief or disbelief and if there were convincing evidence for a belief there would be no religious disputes.

There are too many evils inside the Church. If the Bishops, priests, nuns don't even understand what the Pope said in an inter-religious dialog, then what can laymen people hope? We in Asia we live in pluribum in Unicum, unity in plurality. As a Catholic we know clearly that Allah of the Quran is not our God. But we did appreciated the deep and soft language of Pope. I don't hope my Muslims friends said to me, according to my Quran I have to fight and kill you if don't submit to my Allah...However we in Asia, the Church are growing up year by year, not fall down like in European countries.
